Phil hit the ground, and was shocked to find he bounced off it like it were made of rubber. He bounced a few times before coming to a halt, not a scratch on him. He looked up and saw impossible architecture surrounding him, colorful like children's cartoon. He stood up and brushed himself off and looked around and saw tiny cars driving on the street, and on the sidewalks, clowns, clowns of different shapes and sizes all walking about, enjoying a bright sunny day. Some waved at him, others didn't even notice. A particularly large female clown who smelt like bad breath walked by him, bumping in. "Sorry." She said half heartedly as she moved along the street towards what looked like a large diner.
He couldn't believe his eyes, but he kept walking down the street. He passed stores, restaurants, apartment complexes, all for clowns, it seemed. He walked past a sign that read Tiny Town and he saw clowns of small size, he walked past a building that read "Clownification Central! Come on in and Be Silly!", and even a shop that sold flowers, specifically flowers you pin to a jacket and squirt water out of. He crossed the street, avoiding the tiny cars, and walked over to what looked like a park. It had lots of trees, all curvy like in a Dr. Suess book, and he sat down on a park bench, trying to catch his bearings.
"I must have hit my head on something, this has to be a dream." He said as he rubbed his temple
.
"Something wrong, Mister?" came a voice from behind him. He turned and saw that behind the bench was a little girl, about 7 years old, wearing a vibrantly pink and purple dress, and she too was a clown. Her hair was styled in curls, red like Raggedy Ann, and her nose matched, round as a ping pong ball.
"Oh, I seem to have fallen asleep and am having a really strange dream." He said.
"You look awake to me!" she said as she walked around to the front of the bench, the sound of her oversized shoes slapping on the pavement.
"I think you are part of my dream, little girl. Sorry." He said, as if to console her for the fact that he'd wake up and she'd cease to be.
"I am not a dream, and my name isn't little girl. It's Sugar." She said.
"Hello, Sugar." He said with a smirk. "I'm Phil."
"Sounds boring." She said with a giggle. "You are rather boring all over actually."
"Hey, that's not nice." Phil said.
"I'm a clown, I don't have to be nice, I have to be silly. You should be silly."
"Waking up would be good any time now. FRANK! EMILY!" he shouted.
"More boring names. Who are they?" Sugar asked.
"My friends. We went to this store, and that's the last thing I remember before waking up here."
Sugar smiled. "Oh, That's Chuckles. He lets a lot of boring people in through his store. It's not a dream, I told you. This is Clowntopia, land of clowns."
"Okay, sure, whatever." He said, pinching his arm, trying to wake up.
"You look like you need to relax. You wanna play on the swings?" she said as she pointed to the playground a few feet away.
"I'm too big to play with you. What would your parents say." He said.
"Uh, not sure, but yeah, you are too big. Oh well. Would you like some candy before you go?"
"Uh. Sure." He said sighing, waiting to open his eyes. He held out his hand, and the girl placed a small lemon drop looking candy in his open hand. "Enjoy!" she said as she ran over to the swings.
He didn't think twice about popping the candy into his mouth and he began to suck on it. It's flavor was strong and it was most certainly a lemon drop, which had always been a favorite of his since childhood. He had been trying to limit sweets to loose some weight, but he figured one little candy wouldn't hurt that, especially since it wasn't even real.
Sugar giggled as she watched from her swing. She looked over and saw the figure on the bench starting to shrink where he sat.
Indeed Phil was getting smaller as he sucked on the sweet, his arms and legs pulling in, his whole body getting compressed, but he didn't notice, suddenly caught up in happy thoughts of how he used to enjoy candy as a kid. His hair pulled in a bit, and he got even pudgier, as his weight issues had plagued him from a young age. To anyone watching, it was plain to see that Phil was getting not just smaller, but younger.
His clothing began to get baggy on him as his limbs shrank, and Sugar grinned with satisfaction as his feet lifted off the ground, pulling right out of his shoes, leaving oversized socks dangling. His youthening was happening rather quickly and he had gone from 23 to around 15 in moments. He was now leaving double digits and was now at lest 9 years old, and the shrinking began to slow as the candy shrank in his mouth. He giggled to himself as he remembered what the best part of the candy he loved as a kid was, the liquid center.
He bit down on the hard treat, and it cracked and a sweet liquid flowed into his mouth and down his throat, and a new sensation washed over him. "Oh that was so tasty." He said aloud as he finished his trip backwards in one giant lurch downwards that made his pants fall to the ground and his shirt look like an oversized dress on him. He was now six years old physically, and mentally he was catching up. Memories of being an adult were washing away thanks to the liquid center doing it's job. He remembered the last class he had taken in college and the scoffed because he wasn't even out of elementary school yet. He giggled at the thought of being a big boy, and soon the memories were nothing more than childish daydreams. Phil was now a child inside and out.
Sugar hopped off her swing and walked over. "Hey there, Phil! How are you?" she said as she stepped over his discarded adult clothes.
"Oh hi there!" he said with a frantic wave from beneath his oversized sleeves. "Who you?" he asked, the memory of her name having been wiped by the candy.
"I'm Sugar! Wanna come play on the swings with me?" She said.
"Um. No. You are a girl. Ick." He giggled.
"Oh. Alrighty. Want some candy?" she said
"Oooh yes!" he said, clapping his hands together. He put a sleeve out and wiggled it until his small hand popped out.
She placed a chewy pink square on his hand and walked away smiling. He popped it into his mouth, and he thought it tasted a lot like a pink lemonade Starburst. He liked it and began to suck and chew at the confection. As he did, his body began to change even more. His hair grew longer and began to touch his shoulders. His pudgy build shrank a bit, but not much as sweets were still a thing for him. His whole body tingled as inch by inch it softened and changed into that of a girl. His face shifted, becoming more girly, and his fingernails soon had a shade of pink on them as did his toenails. He didn't even notice his little willy shrink and pull inside, shifting about until he was a real girl. The now she swung her legs childishly as she rocked back and forth, finishing off the sweet. As it melted in her mouth, her mind shifted again, no longer remember being a boy, but always being a sweet little girl who loved her sweets. She giggled as she saw the silly clown girl playing walking over.
"Hi there. I'm Sugar. You are?"
"My name is Phillipa" she said. "I don't like it that much." She said.
"Would you like a silly name like mine?" Sugar said. "I think we can make you silly like me if you want."
Phillipa looked at the girl and smiled. She liked the silly look of the clown girl a year older than her, and she said "SURE!"
Sugar pulled out what looked like chocolate fudge, and handed it to the new little girl who took it and tore into it quickly, leaving her lips smeared in chocolate. She then felt very odd as her skin began to turn a pink hue as white surrounded her eyes and lips. Purple curvy lines replaced her eyebrows as her long brown hair began to pull up into a clowny afro of pink and purple. She laughed like she were being tickled as her feet grew larger, stretching out to twice their size (which was almost to the size they were when she was an adult male) Her lips turned vibrantly red and curled into a smile with spirals at the edges, a permanent grin that was almost infectious. Red hearts appeared on her cheeks, and the very tip of her nose swelled slightly, leaving a round red dot at the end. She giggled as she twirled around, her shirt acting like a dress more than ever. As she swallowed the last of the fudge, her mind shifted one last time. She wasn't a man, she wasn't a boy, she wasn't just a girl, she was a clown girl, and she was proud of it. She looked to her best friend Sugar and grinned.
"Want to play on the swings with me, Sugar?"
"You bet, Spice." Sugar said as she watched the newest member of Clowntopian society run towards the swings.
"I like her better this way." She said with a sly chuckle.
