It's quite funny how things turn out sometimes. This story is the result of events which have been set into motion last weekend. You see, last weekend, I started reading a novel about a man whose brain had to be transplanted into the brain-dead body of a genetically engineered cat-human hybrid ("The Face in the Mirror" by T. R. Brown, go look it up on amazon if you haven't already). To say that the story merely blew me away would be an understatement. I emotionally connected with the main character a lot and spent lots of time the next few days thinking about the events in the novel, almost to the point of becoming unproductive at work. ^^*
So I started looking for more anthro cat transformation novels, and I stumbled over Bernard Doove's / chakat-goldfur's "Transformations", which is about a young human male suffering a transporter malfunction which puts him in the body of a genetically engineered race of hermaphrodite felitaurs - Chakats.
It was a bit of robbing Peter to pay Paul - I'd managed to put my enthusiasm about "The Face in the Mirror" a bit in the background where it didn't interfere with my daily routines anymore, but in return I suddenly was deep diving into chakat-goldfur's Chakat universe. And in a rare stroke of luck, my inspiration and writing mojo were at their peaks simultaneously, which was how this story was born. I hope you guys enjoy it! :)
I'm happy to say that this (hopefully) isn't the end for our Venned Chakat couple. I still got a few more chapters in mind (in fact, I'm already well into the second one), and hope that my writing mojo will hold out for long enough.
