Fitting Relationship
a
transformation story

Mesmerized, Ben strode through the small aisle, his gaze sweeping over the sparkling gowns and dresses displayed left and right. His heart was beating madly, and part of his excitement was the fear of being caught, of a shopkeeper or other customer spotting him while indulging in his most secret fantasy.
It had happened several times, and each time he'd wished to evaporate on the spot, the sneer or disdain on the shopkeepers' faces when they expelled him from the store hurting like a thousand stabs with a knife. Each time, he'd swore anew never to do this again, but his cravings were too strong, and after a few weeks at the uttermost, he'd be strolling through the clothing stores' ladies sections again.
The reason for his frequent sackings was obvious - when there was a man strolling through a clothing store's women's section with a dreamy look in his eyes, most people immediately thought of him as being a transvestite. And there were still more than enough customers who felt insecure towards transgendered people, causing his expulsion from the store. Only that they were wrong. Ben wasn't transgendered, and he wasn't a crossdresser either. His fantasies lay... somewhere else.
Now Ben stopped as his gaze fell on a beautiful, blue dress. Hesitantly, he reached out with one hand, stroking the soft fabric. An involuntary shudder went through his body as he thought how it would feel being such a gentle material, hugging a woman's body, making her look spectacular...
"Um, excuse me?" The young but confident voice yanked Ben out of his thoughts with abrupt brutality and he whirled around, coming face to face with an attractive, red-haired girl of his age. She had bright, green eyes sparkling with curiosity, not the disdain he more commonly faced when being caught by a client.
"That-that isn't what it looks like!" He protested weakly. "I was just looking for a dress for my mother's birthday, really!!!" Beads of sweat appeared on Ben's forehead, but the girl simply giggled.
"Oh, come on." she chided him. "A man looking at women's clothes. Big deal. Everybody is free to buy and wear whatever he or she wants. Still..." She eyed him intensively, her stare making Ben feeling uncomfortable. "The bit about hugging a woman's body like this dress... were you serious?"
"W-What?" shocked, Ben's eyes flew open. Had he unconsciously voiced his deepest thoughts aloud? "What are you talking about?"
The pretty girl sighed. "Don't try to deny it. I overheard what you were muttering. You were basically wondering how it would feel like to be a dress. No, you were even wishing it! Am I right?"
Like a caged animal, Ben desperately searched for an escape route. But there was none, the girl had cornered him perfectly, and he found himself unable of averting her stare.
"So what?" he replied defensively. "Is that forbidden?"
"Hm..." the girl seemed to think. "It isn't. But... we have to talk!" Ben had only time for a startled yelp as the girl suddenly grabbed his wrist, and the store and the world around him seemed to disappear in a kaleidoscope of shapes and colors. For a moment, he felt like falling through an endless void. And then, everything was normal again, he tumbled crashing down and finding himself lying on a wooden floor. Which was odd, actually. The store had had carpet after all.
Above him, an amused giggle sounded. "Yeah, first time's always the hardest. You won't puke, I hope? When I ported my friend Jenn the first time, she threw up all over the place. Made one hell of a mess..."
Dazed, Ben collected himself from the floor. "No..." he gasped. "I don't think so. But..." Bewildered, he took in his surroundings, a quite normal looking apartment's living room. Nothing unusual. Except for the fact that he'd been in a store barely ten seconds before. "What... why..."
Again, the girl giggled. "Welcome to my apartment. I'm Anna, by the way. Sorry for not cleaning up, but I wasn't expecting guests."
Almost reflexively, Ben took her outstretched hand. "Ben." Then, though, his strange situation registered. "What did you do? Where am I?" He asked exasperated.
Anna simply smiled. "Oh, nothing to be afraid of. It was a short teleportation, nothing much. We're still in town, only on the other side. I thought that it would better if we had some private place to talk. And as for the how..." Now a mischievous grin appeared on Anna's face. "...I'm a witch."
"Impossible!" The reply came automatic, after all, magic wasn't real. That was fact. On the other hand...
"Yeah? So instead of porting us into my room I refurnished the store in a matter of seconds?" Anna didn't seem offended by his denial. "How about another taste of my magic?" She snipped her fingers and suddenly Ben, who'd stood at least half a head taller than Anna, found himself looking up to a giantess. And not only that. His clothes were gone. Instead, there was fur on his body... startled, his eyes went down to his hands, now paws.
"Meow?" Shocked, Ben, looked at his yellow-and-white striped body, the sensations of his new tail startling him. With big eyes, the newly created cat looked up towards Anna, voicing another questioning "Meooooow?!?" The witch simply giggled.
"Oh, I totally love cat transformations. Cat-turned people are just the cutest felines of all! Anyway..." A snip later, and Ben found himself looking down at the smiling girl again. "Do you believe me now?"
Ben simply stared at his captor. For ten seconds. Then he did the reasonable thing. He fainted.

"Here, it's strong and black, that should liven you up." With a mumbled thanks, Ben accepted the hot coffee mug. Anna eyed him critically.
"Everything alright with your head? You still seeing stars?" She asked concerned.
With one hand, Ben clutched the mug, while he carefully touched his head with the other. He winced as his fingers felt a swelling bump, but aside from the pain it didn't felt like a serious injury. "I'm fine, I think." he growled. "Why can't you just heal the bump?"
Anna smiled apologetically. "Sorry." The girl said and shrugged. "Healing magic's not my specialty. It's insanely complicated. You don't want to end up with a couple of heads, do you?"
Incredulously, Ben stared at Anna. "Healing a bump is more complicated than changing me into a cat?" he asked bewildered.
"Totally different magic." the girl replied calmly. "Healing magic is manipulating an existing body. Transformation is like a shell game, you're simply switching out one body for another. What's more complicated? Switching cars or repairing a car's broken engine?"
"If you say so..." Diffidently, Ben slurped his coffee. It was jet-black and tasted horrible, yet he already felt life creeping back into his shocked bones.
All the while, Anna observed him curiously. "You're a strange dude." the girl exclaimed after a couple of minutes. "I never had a guy fainting on my carpet. It's normally only us girls who're doing stuff like this."
Ben nearly swallowed his coffee up. "Excuse me!" he coughed, "But it doesn't happen that often that I'm abducted by a witch and turned into a cat! It may be business as usual for you, but to me, it was quite shocking!"
Anna giggled. "Yeah, I think you have a point there." she mused. "You're the first one I've 'abducted'. I guess I should have been... more gentle?"
Sullenly, Ben nodded. "Absolutely! Magic stuff may be normal life to you, but for me, it was quite the surprise. Still..." warily, he eyed Anna. "...don't you wanna tell me now the reason why you've 'ported' me to your apartment?" After he'd collapsed in front of her, the girl had shown genuine concern for his well-being, so Ben was pretty sure that he wasn't intended as a live ingredient for some kind of unholy magical potion. And she seemed like a nice girl, which was another plus. He didn't knew that many women, and even less of these were friendly.
The young witch simply smiled. "Right, down to business." Anna cleared her throat. "I can fulfill your dream."
Ben nearly felt his heart stop. This was impossible! On the other hand... didn't I just become a cat? "You mean...?" he asked breathlessly and Anna nodded.
"Yeah. Just as I transformed you into a cat before, I can transform you into a dress. If that's what you want."
Ben gulped. "That's... yes, that's my deepest desire!" he breathed. "But... why would you do this?"
"Oh, I wouldn't do it for free." Anna exclaimed cheerfully. "I propose a bargain. I'm still a witch in training, and to hone my skills at transformation, I need someone to practice on. That somebody would be you."
"Um, okaaaay..." Ben pretended to be clueless, but inside his head, his thoughts were racing. If she's offering what I think she is... "And what would be in for me?" he asked breathlessly.
Anna bestowed a friendly smile upon him. "Well... I'd fulfill your wish. You want to be turned into a dress and worn, isn't that right? That was what you were mumbling inside the store, after all. So... I'd turn you into a dress and wear you, frequently. Or isn't this what you want?"

"Hey, you ready?" Ben nearly jumped out of his chair as Anna's voice suddenly piped up behind him. He'd been awake since six in the morning, his excitement of what the day held in store for him making it impossible to sleep. So he'd made himself a breakfast and then switched on the TV, aimlessly cycling through the channels and waiting for Anna to appear.
What she had done, only in a matter which had nearly stopped Ben's heart. Suddenly hearing a foreign voice behind you when you thought you were safely alone in your home apparently was a very unsettling experience.
It took a few moments for Ben to gather his composure again, Anna only grinning at him there while.
He took a deep breath. "You scared me to death there." He complained in a voice as firm as he could muster. But somehow, he had the impression that he wasn't fooling anyone, not himself and certainly not Anna. "If I perish from a heart attack, who's going to be your guinea pig?"
Anna simply giggled. "Ah, you're cute when you're pretending to be angry!" the red-head exclaimed with delight in her voice, confirming the futility of Ben's attempt to appear firm. Yet the statement made his cheeks blush. Thankfully, Anna didn't seem to notice, the girl simply carried on. "If me appearing behind you freaks you out, you'd be the wrong guy for the job anyway. Like Tracy, my sister whom I was using before for practice." She shook her head sadly. "Everything went well until I trained nephropidae spells... she went totally bananas, I'm still thanking God that being an Elephant didn't have the same effect..."
"Nephropidae...?" Ben asked clueless. Anna cocked her head questioningly, but then she nodded.
"Ah, right. I tend to forget that most people are not that deep into zoology. Um, right. Lobsters. Guess she didn't like having claws and pincers..."
Ben's eyes flew wide open. "Lobsters???" he gasped. "You've transformed people into lobsters???"
Anna simply shrugged. "Sure. If I can transform people into cats, why not into lobsters? It's the same type of spell, after all." She gave him a critical stare. "What did you think you'd be transformed into?"
"Um... cats? Dogs? Maybe horses? I don't know? Normal stuff?"
The witch laughed. "Oh, yeah. Mammals. Well, I can tell you that those are not the spells I'll be practicing on you. Except you want me to, but your preferences lie elsewhere, isn't it so? Cats, dogs and horse transformations are pretty common and fun, that's the first thing you practice as a kid. And it's the most fun being turned into those beings, so finding volunteers isn't that hard. I'm sorry, but I'll be requiring your help for more... radical changes. Unless it's something you're not prepared to do."
Anna waited for a reply and Ben sighed inwardly. He wasn't looking forward to become a lobster, but if that was the only way to achieve his dream... so be it.
"No, I'm fine." he sighed. "So what am I gonna become today?"
Anna smiled. "Weeell..." she said long drawn out, "I need to polish my mollusc spells." She gave him a malicious twinkle. "If you don't know the term, that's snails and slugs and stuff-" Ben couldn't help but utter a shocked yelp at the prospect of becoming a slug, but apparently Anna had expected this reaction, because she was already continuing "-but since you're a rookie, I thought we'd try something less radical at first."
Ben couldn't help but release a relieved gasp. Anna simply smiled amused. "And I think you may even like what I have in store for you." The red-head extended her hand. "Let's go then."
Startled, Ben took her hand, his fingers tingling at the intimate contact. "Go? Where to?"
The young witch laughed. "Into my parents' garden." she twinkled, and in the next moment, the couple vanished.
The second time he was 'ported' by Anna, he managed to stay on his feet. They'd emerged in his own apartment, a feat his new lady friend had managed by looking at a few images of his house and room saved on his smartphone. She'd tried to explain her magic's internal workings to him, but after a couple of minutes he'd made her abort the attempt. A lecture on quantum physics certainly wouldn't have been much harder to comprehend, he reckoned.
Awkwardly, Ben let go of Anna's hand. Due to his unusual "urges" he wasn't that interested in the other gender, and his natural shyness normally put him on distance with women. The witch, though, didn't seem irritated by his insecure behavior.
They'd spent most of the last couple of hours chatting to learn about each other, and to Ben's surprise, despite his insecurity towards the other sex, he'd almost become at ease with the self-confident red-haired. For all intents and purposes, Anna was a normal young woman, with normal friends, normal preferences in TV shows and movies and her youth's liking for steamy parties. The only abnormal thing about her was the fact that she was a witch.
As he'd confronted her with this apparent paradox, she'd giggled and asked him if he'd expected a real with to be a warty old hag living in remote cottage. He'd laughed and another part of his natural inhibition against his 'captor' had molten away. In fact, he'd been astonished to realize that despite their obvious differences in personality, their tastes in food, entertainment and recreation activities were quite similar. Anna had been, of course, delighted. "That's great!" she had exclaimed cheerfully, "It looks like as we could become good friends. That's even better than I had hoped!"
Ben had only smiled politely in return, but internally he'd been enamored at the prospect. He wasn't sure why, though. And the strange part was that he was looking forward to his time with Anna. Well, he was looking forward to his time as a dress on her body, of course. Really, really looking forward, even longing for the moment to arise. But he was also looking forward to the next time he'd speak with bouncy girl.
"Nice apartment!" she said now, scanning his living room with her eyes. "I like it." Then she grinned and pointed towards his TV corner. "Hey, I have this chair, too! Really awesome thing to sprawl yourself in it after a hard day!"
"Um, yeah, thanks." Ben replied, but Anna's attention had already shifted onto other things. Finally, Anna turned towards him again.
"Hokay. So we have a deal? I get to transform you and you'll get time as my dress?"
Ben nodded. "Yeah, so when..."
"We'll start this weekend. What do you think about Saturday? I'll collect you in the morning, let's say... 10 a.m.? Yeah, that's a good time. Then I'll start practicing on you and once I'm done, you'll become my dress." Anna giggled. "I'll be going clubbing that evening, and I could use a new dress. You up to the task?"
"Of course!" Ben blurted it. Yet he was wincing internally. Saturday! It was only Tuesday. Oh man, this will be the longest week of my life!
Unknowing of his inner turmoil, Anna squealed and threw her arms around him, and a startled Ben froze as he suddenly had a buxom red-head wrapped around his body.
"Thanks, that's sooo totally awesome!" the girl cried out and locked eyes. "Well then - we'll see us on Saturday. Just wait for me, I'll simply poof up. Like this, only the reverse!" With a grin, Anna removed herself from Ben's chest and flicked her finger. And in the next moment, the girl was gone, only empty air where she'd stood, leaving the mortified man behind.

Ben waited. There was no sight. Nor sound. Not that he needed any of those senses. His lower body was drawing water, his upper body basking in the sun's warmth, breathing and moving in the wind. One gigantic lung, hugged by the earth, stroked by the air and warmed by the sun.
There was nothing to do, but it wasn't boring. You could only be bored when you had time to spend, but in his current state of existence, time didn't matter. It was incredibly calming, and as he felt something warm touching his hard, rough skin, he'd have sighed would he have been able to do so. So it was over and he would be-
-human again. Ben blinked and then looked up at Anna who was staring down at him. "Welcome back!" the girl beamed and awkwardly, Ben crawled out of the hole in which he'd spent the last few hours - although mainly not in his birth form. Being alive again, well, to be fair, having a pulse and movable limbs again, felt a bit strange after that much time of being something entirely else.
"So..." Anna asked, "You made a really good oak there. But considering all the other trees I turned you into, which did you like most?"
"Hm..." Ben considered the question carefully. Only a week ago the idea of actually being transformed into a tree would have seemed like out of an especially crazy dream - or fantasy in his case - but now, after several ours of being an addition to this garden, he'd lost his dread. Part of this progress was undoubtedly due to Anna's blunt openness - the girl's bubbly personality had cracked his defensive walls like a hammer an eggshell, and he found himself opening towards the young witch more and more, an effect which seemed to please her.
"I guess the cherry tree." He answered after a few seconds with a sly smile. "I can't describe why, it just felt... awesome."
Anna smiled broadly. "No wonder, you were looking awesome. Next time I'll take pictures of you. While you were a cherry tree, Mum visited and even joked if you could stay for the spring. She liked your appearance and how you fit in with the rest of the vegeation." Anna laughed and Ben found himself falling in. It was quite astonishing, actually. One week ago, he'd have uttered an uneasy chuckle at the most, now he found himself laughing and joking together with a cute girl!
"No thanks!" he replied therefore with a grin. "I have... other plans. As you know."
"Ah, yeah." Anna giggled and clasped her hands. "My portion of our agreement. So..." A quick grab a couple of seconds and an increasingly familiar feeling port later, Ben found himself standing in Anna's apartment again. "...as I promised, I'll turn you into my dress for tonight. And I have just the right idea. You'll be a black one-piece, out of silk, with a hemline over here, sleeveless of course and..." Excited, the young girl explained the form he'd take soon and Ben felt his excitement raise into unknown heights as well. Still...
"Um, one question, though." He interrupted Anna's constant babble.
Curiously, the witch stared at him. "Yeah?"
"Just wondering..." he asked a bit hesitantly, "...but when you turn me into a dress, can I see? Or hear? I mean, as a tree I couldn't."
"Hm... good question." Anna seemed to ponder this. "I have no idea, actually. Would you like to be able to see?"
"If it's possible... yes." Ben answered and Anna nodded.
"All right, just a sec, I'll need to investigate." She didn't even wait for his reply and vanished into another room, from the look of it her study-room. In the end, it took nearly ten minutes, but then Anna returned with a smile on her face.
"Yeah, 's alright!" she explained cheerfully. "Got a sensory spell here. You won't be able to see and hear in the sense of seeing and hearing, but you'll be able to 'perceive'. Is that enough for you?"
Relieved, Ben nodded. "Yeah!" the young man exclaimed, "That's good enough."
"Alright." Anna grinned widely. "You ready to make me look great? Nah, what am I asking, of course you are!"
Ben wanted to reply, but the witch didn't give him enough time. He tried opening his mouth, but suddenly he didn't have a mouth anymore. Instead he was light and soft... and fluttering down to the floor to collapse in a paralyzed heap.
Anna had been right, he wasn't seeing or hearing. He knew of the sights and sounds around him, but that wasn't the same as sensing them. It was hard to describe. Yet all that mattered was that he was able to experience what had happened.
His mind was racing while a grinning Anna looked down at him. Ohmygod, ohmygod, ohmygod... it's really- His train of thoughts was abruptly cut off as Anna's hand grabbed his soft, silken body and scooped him up, and he'd have gasped at the sensation of sheer weightlessness - if he'd still have possessed a mouth.
"You've turned out great, really awesome!" the young witch exclaimed while she contemplated his changed form. "Just look at yourself." With a quick twirl, she turned and darted towards a large mirror, holding up... a dress. A dress like she'd described before. A dress, which'd been a human only seconds before.
That is... incredible... Ben thought awestruck. It was more than hard to believe that this inanimate garment was in fact him, but there was no denial of all the strange new feelings his radically changed body was giving him. It's really happened. I AM a dress!
Anna giggled again. "I guess you're really excited right now." the young witch said, and Ben couldn't argue with that. "Well... you're a dress now. You're my dress now. And I want to see how you look on me."
She carefully deposited Ben's form on her bed and then started disrobing herself. Ben could only watch in silent and motionless aspiration as the pretty girl shed her clothes in front of him. Her body wasn't that of a super-model, but then again, whose body was? But yet she had a very nice figure, with alluring curves, and strangely enough, Ben didn't feel excited by this view. Well, no wonder... dresses didn't have circulation, so there was no blood which could make other things... rise. Which didn't prevent him from enjoying the sight.
And then it was his turn. The girl walked towards him again, only in bra and panties, and scooped him up. And in the next moment, Ben felt the incredible sensation of a warm, soft shape entering his body. Apparently, he was a tight fit and Anna had to wiggle a bit, but after a few moments, his satin shape was firmly stretched over her youthful curves.
Anna giggled and stroked her hands over her breasts and ass, pressing the dress's, his fabric against her body. It was pure bliss for Ben, nearly all of his body was hugging Anna, and he felt even the slightest of her moves. For a few seconds, he was lost in the sensations, but then his wearer's giggles yanked him out of his euphoria. And wouldn't he already have been a motionless dress, he'd frozen now. Because in the mirror, there was Anna - a beautiful dress accentuating her body perfectly. That this was actually him covering her...!
"Oh, my." Anna breathed. "You're fitting perfectly." She did a twirl in front of the mirror, admiring how Ben's hem flew up a bit. "It's the first time I'm wearing a magically made dress, but I should do this more often... you're fitting like a glove." She kept admiring herself for some time, doing all kinds of poses and Ben was marveling as well. He'd done it! Finally, his deepest fantasy had been fulfilled. He was indeed a dress, being worn by a woman, and boy did he make her look good!
After a while though, Anna stopped prancing around and Ben felt himself being slipped off again. "I'm sorry, Ben, but there's still light outside." she said a bit apologetically while holding him up in front of her. "And I guess that it'll be at least a couple of hours until I'll go into town. So until then..." In the next moment, he felt a hanger being slipped into his empty hide and then Anna placed him in her closet.
The witch twinkled. "I'll leave you in here until I need you. After all, you're a dress and dresses belong into the drawer when they are not worn." Anna giggled. "But I'm sure you won't mind, I suspect that this is part of your fantasy as well!" She winked a last time and then closed the door, leaving Ben in darkness.
For a moment, he was dumbstruck, but then he relaxed mentally. Okay, he had to spend the next couple of hours motionless in a drawer. So what? She was right after all, he was a dress. And somehow, the idea of being a dress like any other garment, hanging in a woman's drawer, waiting for its turn to be worn by its owner, really excited him a bit. And therefore he simply waited apprehensively for the time when his owner would need him again.

Afterwards, Ben couldn't have said how much time had progressed, how long he'd spent in that drawer. Somehow, as a dress, he didn't have something like a sense of time. A very good thing in his situation, for without a sense of time, you couldn't be bored. On the other hand - dresses couldn't be bored anyway. Only living beings could and right now he, well rather it, was most certainly not living. Existing yes, living no. So that was the reason why she'd assumed that he'd like being a tree - in this regard, it was very similar to being a dress.
The dress's self-reflection was cut short when the drawer's doors opened again, and Ann's hand fished Ben out from all the other clothes hanging in there. Apparently, she'd already freshened herself up, with only the dress missing for her to be ready to go, and in the next moment, Ben felt himself being draped over her young, shapely body again.
This time though, the witch didn't speak with him. Perhaps she wanted to give him the full dress experience, perhaps she enjoyed the power she now had over him, perhaps she wanted to suppress the thought that she was wearing a transformed human right now. Whatever the reason, Ben was fine with it. He'd fantasized of this moment, of being a woman's dress, an object, and now it had finally become true!
His wearer admired herself in the mirror a last time and then grabbed her hand bag, heading out on the streets. Confidently, Anna strode over the pavement on her heels, turning male heads left and right. Some of them were even openly leering down her cleavage or up her legs, not that she seemed to care. It probably helps when you can turn men into toads with a snap of your fingers, if necessary... or into clothing... just like me. Ben contemplated.
A few hours ago, he'd been a man like them. Now, he was nothing more than thin fabric, displaying Anna's cleavage and breasts. And to all the passersby, he was nothing more than a soulless object, to be bought and used. Would he still have possessed a human back, the thought would have send shivers down it. In his current state of existence, he was confined to shivers of the mind, but those were just as enjoyable right now. And so he simply reveled in the sensations of hugging Anna, of making her look pretty.
Upon arriving at the club, Anna threw herself onto the dancing floor with verve. Ben had expected her to meet up with friends, but as things were looking, she'd decided to amuse herself alone. Whether it was a normal reaction by the girl or his presence as her dress, while the young red-haired shook her body to the beats resonating through his soft body, he could feel her becoming more and more excited.
She seemed to have limitless endurance, dancing for what seemed like hours, but could also have been minutes, only taking short breaks to take a drink a the bar, the influx of alcohol only adding to her body's heat. From time to time, when a bold man tried his advances, she'd dance with the stranger, their bodies brushing against each other, Ben being jammed in between the two. And he loved every second of it.
After several partners, Anna found a man she seemed comfortable with, big and tough-looking, with dazzling teeth and fiery mustachios, pure antithesis to Ben himself. Some small talk later, the two of them were out of the club, advancing towards Anna's apartment. From the feel of her body inside him, she was clearly anticipating what was bound to come, and twenty minutes later, Ben found himself being carelessly discarded onto the floor by Tom, Anna's admirer.
While the couple engaged in the late-night program, the dress on the floor was left to its own devices, free to contemplate the events of the evening. Strangely enough, Ben didn't felt betrayed or gloomy in face of the fact that Anna didn't harbor any romantic sentiments towards him, because that's how he'd interpreted her friendliness. Which led to the conclusion that the affection he had sensed for her hadn't been romantic either.
And without sadness Ben realized that this was exactly the case. He liked her, but not in a romantic sense. And so the fact that she was having sex with a stranger while he was in the same room didn't unsettle him in the slightest, quite to the contrary. He felt glad for Anna, glad that she'd found someone she liked at that club.
How funny... he thought amused while the two lovers in the bed kept going, There I've been totally friend-zoned and it doesn't upset me.
No, now he realized that all his life he had been right. It wasn't his fate to love a woman, to become her missing half. Instead, he wanted to be owned by a woman, to hug her body and make her look good while she lived her life. And therefore he wished Anna, who, after so much suffering, had finally made this yearning of his come true, all the happiness she could find in her life. With him not at her side, but on her.
Contentedly, the dress settled down and waited for the moment when its owner would need it again.

Ben moved around on his posterior, trying to find a comfortable position on Anna's kitchen chair. After nearly 24 hours as a dress, being human again with bones and muscles felt decidedly weird. After the hot and steamy night, Anna and Tom had taken a common shower and then had breakfast together. Only after he'd left, Anna had turned him back, apologizing over and over again for the previous night's excesses.
"I swear, I hadn't planned this!" she exclaimed the umpteenth time and Ben had to use all his self-control to keep himself from giggling. "I only wanted to give you a cool night at the club, being danced in and stuff, but somehow the fact that I was wearing you made me totally horny and then... Tom happened." she blushed a bit. "I hope you're not angry at me?!"
Ben chuckled. "How many times do I have to say it again? I'm not angry at you. I had a great time and I'm happy that you had a great time as well!"
Suspiciously, Anna looked at him. "And you're not even upset that you've spent the night crumbled on the floor while Tom and me, um, you know?"
"I was a dress." Ben stated matter-of-factly. "It's normal for a dress to land on the floor when its owner is caught up in, um, funny things."
To that, the young witch didn't manage to voice a coherent reply. "Okaaaaay..." she said finally after a few seconds of silence, then giggled. "So I guess you're not put off... and... want to do it again?"
Ben simply smiled. "When's the next time you want to go clubbing?"
Oh yes, he thought as Anna's face blossomed into a huge smile, The next few years will be awesome, I'm sure of that!

The dress blinked, slowly moving its hands and looking towards its wearer out of human eyes again. Or rather, Ben did. After some time, it had become normal to regard himself only as Anna's, as his wearer's clothing when he was in dress form. And it always required some getting used to to yank himself out of this state of mind again, especially after he'd just spent several days in inanimate shape.
At first, Anna had only transformed him for not more than a day, but after some time, hesitation had crumbled on both sides and by now, more than three years after the first fateful meeting, it had become normal for the witch to make him her dress for several days to come. Dresses hadn't been the only things he'd been during that time, besides her transformation experiments of course. They'd tried the whole range of female clothing, from shoes to underwear, but in the end, nothing beat being a dress.
"Ben... please sit. We have to talk." Anna's voice wrenched Ben out of his thoughts, and surprised he looked at the girl. He'd hardly ever heard such sobriety in her voice and found himself obeying her plea almost on its own. A bit awkwardly, he slid into the chair, Anna taking the opposite direction.
"Is it about Garrett?" he asked with unconcealed concern. His heart sank as Anna nodded. Garrett was Anna's boyfriend of nearly one year, and since of lately also fiancee. Considering the fact the he was often present (as Anne's dress) when the two met, he knew him nearly as good as she, and he liked the guy, sincerely wishing the couple the best for the future. Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on how one was looking at it, Garrett didn't know of Ben's ongoing employment in Anna's wardrobe. And he wasn't really sure how Garrett would react to the fact that his fiancee was regularly having another man touching her naked skin - in a sense, at least.
"I have not told him of our, um, relationship." Anna replied. "But we still need to talk. Don't you think that this is starting to go too far...? Me wearing you?"
"Why?" Ben asked back defensively. He'd dreaded this moment, always hoped that it would never come. "I don't bother you, do I? I've been the best dresses you ever had! Better than everything you could buy!!!"
"That's not what I'm talking about." Anna replied soothingly. "Of course you've been great dresses. But that's the problem. You're slowly but steadily spending more time as a dress than as a human." She threw her hands in the air. "Wearing you for short times is fun, but what I'm doing to you is taking away your humanity. It's as unethical as it gets! Even witches have rules, you know?"
"So what?" Ben shot back. "I don't want to be human!!! I want to be a dress!!! I want to be your dress!!! That's all I want to be!!! Nothing else!!!" Wide-eyed, Anna stared at him and Ben froze. He'd actually bellowed this out, howled the words at the red-head, something he'd never done before. Even when she'd transformed him into worms and larvae without prior warning. But fear had taken over his thoughts and he'd reacted without thinking. Shocked at his out-burst, he only glowered back defensively, Anna swallowing a couple of times.
"I think..." she whispered after what appeared to have been an eternity, "...that you should go home and think about what you've just said."
"So you won't make me into your dress forever?" He knew the answer, probably even before Anna had realized what he'd asked.
"I... I think we've gone too far. I've gone too far." she said. "I... we should stop."
Desperation lowered itself into Ben's thoughts. He'd botched it. It was over. Mechanically, he stood up, slowly walking towards the door. "I... think I better go now." he said hoarsely. "If you don't want to make me your dress anymore, there's nothing left for me here." He took a deep breath, then looked squarely into Anna's beautiful eyes. "These were the best three years of my life. You've made my dream come true. Thank you for this... and goodbye."
"Ben, please! Think about what you're saying th-" he heard the young witch pleading behind him, but he wasn't listening anymore. There was no need, and therefore he simply closed the door and staggered down the stairs.

"Oh my God! What have you done?" Stinging pain shot through Ben's temples as the shocked voice ripped him out of his delirium. He opened his eyes to small slits and besides the blinding light, Anna's concerned looking face registered. Great. He'd totally forgotten that the witch could port herself into his apartment at wish, so no point in locking the door and shutting down the doorbell. "Have you been drinking?"
Groaning, Ben covered his eyes with his hands. "Please not so loud..." he mumbled. "I had a pretty bad day yesterday..."
"Must have been a really shitty day. Jesus... all this booze..." Carefully, Anna cut her way through the beer-can littered room. "...you could have killed yourself!"
"You're not saying. Guess it didn't work, then." Ben replied bitterly and the pretty red-head went rigid for a moment. Then the expression of shock on her face made room for wrath. Terrible, furious wrath. And in the next moment, a surprisingly strong hand grabbed his stained shirt and yanked him out of the chair. He had to gulp as he came face to face with Anna, sheer fury boiling in her green eyes.
"You didn't..." she hissed furiously. "I can't believe that you would be trying something this stupid. Go make yourself fresh, we have to talk."
Now it was Ben's turn to be wide-eyed, and intimidated, he nodded. "Yes, Ma'am." he added meekly, before noticing something peculiar. "Wait a moment..." he said, holding his head. "My hangover... it's..."
"Gone?" Anna asked and a small smile flickered over her face. Embarrassed, Ben nodded. "I've removed it. Cured you of it. Even though I have no idea of typical healing magic, that's a specific healing spell every witch should know. Well, at least those who party regularly." She wrinkled her nose. "This being said... go take a shower already. You're smelling. And then... we talk."

*************************************
20 minutes later, Ben entered his kitchen where Anna was already waiting. He'd winced internally at the sight of his canister-littered living room, for the first time realizing the mess he'd made after Anna's spell had removed the drug-induced haze from his mind. He'd never have believed to be able to drink that much without dying of alcohol poisoning. And he'd apparently come really, really close of surpassing that boundary. Which had been exactly what he'd intended, he realized with burning shame.
Silently and with a guilty expression, Ben lowered himself down on a chair across from Anna. For a few moments, the girl only looked at him, then the young witch sighed. "Jesus, Ben. What are you doing?" she asked sadly. "Is it really that bad? Do you want to be a dress that much? You have to be aware that this is like totally not normal! A human wanting to be an object!"
Ben simply shrugged. "Yes, yes, and of course yes. Of course I know that it's crazy. To be a dress. To give up my humanity, to become a possession. But... I don't know why, it's simply my biggest desire, I can't change it!"
Sobbing, he collapsed in Anna's arm and soothingly, the red-haired girl patted his head. "Shh, 's alright." she told him. "I understand. But... I can't turn you into a dress forever! It's... unethical. If anyone would find out, they'd put me into magical prison for the rest of my life. And believe me, that's a spot where you really don't wanna be!" she shuddered and gloomily, Ben nodded. He'd figured something like this, though it wasn't improving his situation in the slightest.
But to his surprise, Anna reacted with a smile to his sagging shoulders. "...but that doesn't mean that I can't fulfill your wish anyway."
"What?" Immediately, Ben's back was as square as a tree again. "But you said...?"
"I said that I can't turn you into a dress forever." Anna explained. "But there are other things I can turn you into forever which, in turn, can become dresses."
Incredulously, Ben looked at his friend. "You've lost me there."
"Well... have you heard of 'familiars'?"
Ben furrowed his brows. "Aren't that... magicians' pets?" he asked.
Anna nodded. "Yes and no. Familiars are beings which are connected to a specific mage's life. They live with them... they perish with them. They are not possession but companion, always intent on protecting their own mage. They have their own mind, but for all intents and purposes, the familiar and its mage are one. Like a magical bodyguard, so to speak. And... they are shapechangers." She looked deep into his eyes and Ben found himself listening intently. "In ancient times, familiars have accompanied their mages as horses, dragons or hawks, for example. In today's world, though, that's not feasible. I'd make a ruckus if I'd take a horse with me everywhere I go. But if my familiar would become my dress, for example..."
Ben swallowed. What she was proposing here... "But you'd still change me for life." He inquired. "Wouldn't that be unethical as well?"
"Good question. But actually not." Anna replied. "While a normal transformation is a change forced upon a human by a mage, changing someone into a familiar is rather like a contract - and totally different magic. It only works when both parties agree, and it only works at all when the being which's becoming a familiar is having a deep affection to the mage. Morever, this is really strong magic. Way beyond anything I've ever done to you. If I change you into my familiar, it'll be as if your human self has never existed. Do you understand me?" Now her green eyes' stare was penetrating deep into his soul. "This is a one-way street. Once it's done, it can't be undone. This makes you, effectively, my servant. Forever. Until I die. Then you'll die as well. And the human Ben will have perished, will never have existed."
Dazed, Ben let this explanation sink in. This was radical. This was way beyond radical. But on the other side it offered him what he'd always wanted. And suddenly, he realized that he didn't have to think about the proposal at all.
"All right." he said. "Let's do it."
"Are you sure?" Anna inquired dubiously. "That's the most important decision of your entire life. Since it will, in a sense, end it. And start it anew. You should take some time, consult your pillow-"
"No." Ben interrupted her, meeting her gaze with determination. "There's nothing to ponder about. This is what I've always wanted. Waiting will only strengthen my decision. I want to become your familiar."
For a few seconds, Anna didn't reply. Then she nodded. "All right." she said, then smiled. "Actually... I've expected something like this. So..."
Swiftly, she grabbed Ben's hand and in the next moment, he found himself in a large cellar. There were strange runes and drawings all over the walls, with lots of old books and a large circle in the middle of the room.
"This is my father's study room." Anna explained. "I've spent the night researching the ritual to make a familiar, and I've already prepared everything. If you want to do it, go into the middle of the circle. And then... make yourself ready."
Ben's heart started beating madly in anticipation, and slowly, he walked into the middle of the room. "Will it hurt?" he asked jokingly, trying to whitewash his anxiety with humor.
But Anna only responded with a grim look on her face. "Yes. It will. Worse than anything you've ever experienced."

*************************************
Heavily breathing, Anna collapsed on the floor. Her whole body was aching, especially her jaw. She'd spent the last two hours reciting ancient spells, leading herself through one of the most complex rituals in magic. Now though, it was finished and she could feel that she'd been successful. Suddenly there was another presence, another being, connected to her being with an invisible line.
She didn't feel confined, though. Instead, she felt protected, as if there was an invisible lover hugging her whole body. A caring warmness, spreading all over her limbs, already curing her of her exhaustion. Anna waited for another couple of minutes and then picked herself up again. Slowly, she looked around the room. Besides her and swirling steam, it was empty. "Ben?" she asked and waited, but there was no reaction. She grimaced, then tried again. "Familiar!" she ordered with a clear voice, "Show yourself."
Almost immediately, the billowing steam started to move, swirling towards her. Despite her previous explanation, Anna had never before seen a familiar and her eyes went wide as the steam in front of her solidified into a human shape. The young witch stared down at the man kneeling in front of her. It was Ben's body, but as he raised his head, she could see that there was something different. He looked exactly like Ben had looked before, but something in his eyes had changed...
"Yes, Mistress?" Ben, or rather her familiar, asked with a wide smile and Anna found herself replying it.
"It... it has worked, hasn't it?" she asked breathlessly. "How do you feel? Are you still... Ben?"
Her familiar nodded. "I... think so." he said. "I remember everything up to my transformation. But something has been added or changed... in my mind... I can't put my finger on it, though. Besides the fact that I'm your familiar and you're my Mistress. I will guard you with my life and will obey every command of yours."
"Oh, Ben." Anna said with tears in her eyes. "You don't have to, but I guess that's what happens when one becomes a familiar. But could you please call me Anna instead of Mistress? The 'Mistress' makes me feel out."
Ben grinned, the motion warming Anna's heart. "As you wish... Anna." he said and the girl giggled, then walked forward and caressed Ben's face.
"Are you happy, though?" she asked concerned. "Now you can become what you wanted. Do you regret what we've done?"
Ben shook his head. "No. Never!" he said confidently. "This feels... just great. Before as a human, I had no real reason in life. Now, though... I have one reason, and one reason only." and the fieriness of his stare made Anna's heart flutter. "And that's you. Only you. Whatever happens, I'll always be there to protect you.
Silence stretched between the two, witch and familiar, as they regarded each other, exchanging what couldn't be said by mere words. After a couple of minutes, the familiar was the first to speak again. "And all this new power and skills I now have..." he said, wondrously starting at his arms and invoking a warming blue fire in his hands before extinguishing it with an icy, red breath. "I guess it will take some time until I'll be able to properly control them."
"So... you need some space? To test your abilities." Anna asked back, her eyes big at Ben's demonstration of magical skills.
"Oh no!" Ben laughed. "I'm fairly new at this being a familiar stuff, but... let me put it this way: It's all hardwired, all I need is to check the 'manual' which has been delivered as well. To study, so to speak. So it's all mainly mental exercise. I think a few weeks at a calm location should suffice. In fact... your closet seems nice."
Anna laughed. "Oh, really? But if you become one of my dresses, this will hardly be a 'calm' affair. Don't forget that I'll marry in a few weeks. There's arrangements to be made, a Hen Night to be celebrated..."
"Don't worry." Ben twinkled. "I'd rather thought about being a specific dress which gets only worn twice... once for trying it on and then... look!" And in the next moment, he fluttered to the floor in a large heap of white silk.
Anna's eyes went wide as saucers as she realized what he'd become. Tentatively, she went forwards, scooping up her familiar's changed form. "You're... that's... beautiful!" she marveled. For a few minutes, she simply stared at Ben's form, then she darted out of the cellar, eager to try the new garment on.
Ten minutes later, she stared into the mirror breathlessly. There she was standing, posing in a beautiful, white wedding gown. "Oh my..." Anna giggled while her hands slowly stroked her transformed familiar's silk. "You're spectacular... and you're fitting perfectly. When Garrett see's me wearing you..."
In the end, Anna pranced around in her new wedding dress for over half an hour before she finally had the heart the slip out of the beautiful gown. Carefully and gently, she deposited the dress on a bust and stroked it a final time.
"I guess I'll leave you alone then-" she whispered, "-I don't want to disturb you figuring out your powers. But I'm already looking forward to the moment when we'll be going down the aisle together." Anna gave the dress a last, large smile. "And I'm already looking forward to the rest of our life... together!"
