After hours of walking, Ann finally reached her destination. She took a moment to catch her breath and silently lament how tiring traveling through Mementos was without Morgana's car form.
She knew she shouldn't be here. Coming here by herself was a blatant violation of the Phantom Thieves' "unanimous decision" rule. However, she figured the others would find this too petty of a reason to pursue a change of heart. Thus, she made her way to an offshoot tunnel in the maze of tracks and came to the entrance of what caught her eye while looking out the van's window during the Thieves last expedition into Mementos.
At the end of the tunnel was what appeared to be the front of a small boutique. In it's windows, stood mannequins modeling everything from swimwear to ball dresses. It strongly reminded Ann of a certain someone and after a bit of digging, her suspicions were confirmed.
Using one of the lockpicks that Joker had passed out to the group, Ann managed to get the front door open and quietly made her way inside. There where numerous shelves with various articles of clothing on display. At the end of many of the aisles, were more mannequins modeling that aisle's inventory. As Ann was making her way past a sportswear aisle, her eyes caught movement from the ceiling. It was a security camera, it's lenses focused directly on Ann. "Well, I guess she knows I'm here now," Ann thought exasperatedly to herself.
Without warning, a beam of light shot out from the camera and before Ann could react, her whole body went numb and she lost all ability to move. No longer able to balance herself, she fell forward and landed face first with a loud thud. She didn't even notice the lack of pain or the hollow echo her body made as it hit the floor because a more jarring development had her in complete shock.
Her head completely separated from the rest of her body with the impact. The surrounding store rushing by her vision as her head rolled down the aisle coming to a stop with her face directly in front of a shelving unit. Her disembodied head laid there helplessly, but her mind was frantic. She was convinced that she was about to die, that that camera's beam had beheaded her. However, minutes passed and Ann's consciousness did not fade at all. Instead, she slowly became more lucid as the immediate panic faded. Once it became clear that she wasn't dead, questions began rattling in her mind about what hat happened to her.
"I never expected to see you sneaking around in here," a voice suddenly said. Hands wrapped around the sides of Ann's head and picked her up. Her face was turned and she saw the nightmarish sight of Shadow Mika examining her helpless head.
"Sorry Takamaki, only I get to be a live model here. Don't worry though, you'll get to show off your body plenty from now on," Shadow Mika sneered at the head she was holding. Ann tried to demand answers, but her mouth was just as unresponsive as the rest of her body had been in that brief second before she was separated from it. Mika's shadow tossed Ann's head like a ball to another shadow dressed as a security guard. Ann caught sight of her body being picked up by another shadow. It was no longer dressed in her Phantom Thief outfit, but her school uniform instead. Whatever happened to her, it had caused the shadows in the boutique to no longer view her as a threat.
Both head and body were taken to the backroom and there, Ann noticed that at the end of her neck ended in a metal peg and had an unnatural color to it. With a jolt she realized it was the same tone as that of the mannequins she'd seen out front. Horrified, Ann took a closer look at her headless body.
Her body looked no different from that of any of the mannequins in the store area. Her head could only was helplessly as the rest of her was taken apart. Her arms detached from her shoulders while her legs were separated from her hips near the top of her thighs. Her torso had another such division at her midriff, allowing the shadows to separate her chest and pelvic area. Ann couldn't believe this was happening. She has been turned in to a sentient mannequin and was now lying in seven pieces on a work bench, utterly powerless.
Before the full weight of her situation set in the shadows picked up all of Ann's parts and tossed them carelessly into a box. Darkness overtook her as the box was taped shut.
Ann had no idea how long she sat in that box. Light poured in and the box was turned upside down to dump her disassembled body onto the floor she watched as shadows picked up the two halves of her torso and carry them over to a table. There, her upper body had a bikini top tied on while a bikini bottom was pulled onto her lower body.
Not long after, Ann stood in the front window, fully reassembled, to model the bikini the shadows dressed her in. In the window, she could see the reflection of the faceless mannequin she had become. Unable to move or speak, she could do nothing except stand there and look pretty until her fellow Phantom Thieves found her and could hopefully find a way to change her back.
Except she hadn't told anyone she was coming here....
