Megan paced her apartment, remembering what she had experienced that day. That couldn't have actually happened. However, Megan knew it was no dream.

Somehow, Megan's devil of a boss, Jackie, had transformed Megan into an office chair and Megan had spent the day being sat on. Megan was in disbelief that something like that could be possible, but what she had experienced left no room for doubt. Megan had never felt more helpless and humiliated. She was terrified that Jackie, who obviously had a grudge against her, had such power.

What had happened that day was all Megan could think about. She had been stuck in that office all day, unable to move. All the while, that witch, Jackie, treated her like a piece of office furniture. Jackie had said that this would be Megan's new job. She expected Megan to show up there everyday and spend eight hours as a chair for her to sit on.

"No!" Megan thought. This was definitely not an arrangement Megan could accept. Megan had no idea what kind of evil power Jackie had that allowed her to turn people into chairs, but it wasn't something Megan was going to trust being used on her, especially given Jackie's clear hatred of Megan. She had been lucky that the transformation had been reversed at the end of the workday, but there was no guarantee that would always be the case. What if Jackie just decided to keep Megan as a chair one day? She would not be able to do anything about it.

Megan could not take that chance. She never wanted to see Jackie again. She would never give Jackie the chance to do that again. She could figure out what she would do for work later. For the moment, she just knew that she would not allow herself to be turned into a chair again.

With that, Megan felt a little relief. She was not looking forward to a job search, but at least she wouldn't be putting up with Jackie's twisted revenge. Eventually, she was able to calm down enough to climb into bed and go to sleep.

The next morning, Megan was rudely awoken by her phone's alarm. Remembering that she wasn't going in to work, Megan was annoyed that she had forgotten to turn off the alarm. She was awake and there was no point in going back to sleep. So, Megan got out of bed. She figured she might as well get an early start on the job search.

Megan took her time making breakfast since she didn't have anywhere to go. She had finished frying up some eggs and had just put some bread in the toaster. As she waited for the toast to be done to complete her breakfast, she looked at the clock. Normally, she would just be arriving at work around that time. She knew it couldn't last, but she was quite enjoying being able to take her time in the morning.

Suddenly, Megan's vision flashed. She swore she had just seen a bright green light. She didn't have long to think about that before her body locked up. Megan was horrified to find she couldn't move. She was even more horrified when her body began to move on its own. Her hips and legs moved into a sitting position. Her arms stuck out in front of her. Megan wanted to scream as she remembered that this was what had happened as she had transformed into Jackie's chair the previous day. Sure enough, her head sank into her chest and her legs fused together. Within seconds, they became the backrest and seat of an office chair. Her arms quickly became armrests.

Megan desperately tried to deny what was happening. However, there was no escaping it. Why was this happening? Megan had stayed home to avoid this very thing.

Within a minute Megan had fully transformed back into the office chair she was forced to be the day before. With that, all movement stopped, except for the toast popping out of the toaster. It remained sticking out of the slot, taunting Megan's inability to reach it.

With that, Megan was completely trapped and alone. She remained in her kitchen, unable to move and only able to think. Her thoughts were not pleasant. Megan's mind was filled with panicked questions about how Jackie could have still done this to her while she was at home. Could she cast whatever spell it was regardless of distance? Does the transformation happen automatically? Whatever the case, any hope Megan had of being able to walk away from the situation disappeared.

The day passed with Megan stuck in her kitchen. Nothing in the apartment moved, least of all Megan. She couldn't believe that she could be so bored and terrified at the same time. With nothing going on around her, she had nothing to distract her from how unnaturally still she was. She wished she could do something, or have something happen around her. She was desperate for anything to distract her from thoughts about her current predicament.

Alas, thinking about it was all she could do. Nightmarish scenarios played in her mind. She wondered if she would change back when the workday ended, just like it did at the office. She didn't know what she would do if she didn't. She couldn't really do anything about it, really. What if Jackie decided to leave her like this as punishment for not showing up? She would be stuck in that spot in her kitchen, likely until her landlord evicted her for not paying the rent. That could be weeks of remaining completely still and alone with her thoughts, imprisoned in her own transformed body.

What would happen then? Her landlord would probably come and clean out the apartment after a long period of Megan not paying the rent. No one would have any reason to think that she was anything more than a chair. She would be just another thing to clear out of the apartment. She could be taken away to be someone's desk chair. She could also be put into storage and forgotten about. If she was really unlucky, she could just be tossed in a dumpster if no one needed a chair. None of the possibilities for her future were at all pleasant if she didn't change back.

Those thoughts were all Megan had to keep herself occupied. She had ended up facing away from the clock, so she had no way to know how much time had passed apart from the shadows slowly moving. It had to be close to dusk by then. Megan was both desperate for and dreading the usual end to the workday. If the night came without her changing back.....

The sunlight coming through the window had almost faded when Megan felt a jolt. Her body began to reshape. In another few minutes, Megan fell to the floor, back in her human form. Megan laid there, slowly realizing that she was breathing again. Her body very much felt like it hadn't moved all day. Megan was extremely relieved to be a human again.

Unfortunately, Megan's relief was short-lived. The fact that she had to spend the day as a chair, despite not going in to work, meant Megan wouldn't be able to escape this situation as easily as she hoped. In all likelihood, she would turn into a chair at the same time the next day. It didn't seem like Megan had any choice. She would have to go in to the office and get Jackie to stop this, somehow. She had no idea how she would do that, but she had to find a way if she didn't want to spend eight hours as a chair every day.

Megan could not get any sleep that night. The thought of seeing Jackie again filled her with dread. She didn't know what she could do to get Jackie to stop these transformations. What leverage could she possibly have over someone who can turn people into chairs? Jackie had said that being a chair was now Megan's job. Would she be allowed to quit if that was the case? How would Jackie react to that? The thought of confronting someone who apparently has magical powers like that terrified Megan. Perhaps the best approach was to instead apologize for her past bullying of Jackie. In that case, Megan's fate depended on how forgiving Jackie would be. Megan agonized about what to do all night.

Eventually, dawn arrived. A tired Megan reluctantly climbed out of bed and began to get dressed. She did not put much effort into her appearance. After all, she was hoping to leave her 'job.' Besides, she had to make sure she was there before the transformation triggered. She needed time to talk to Jackie before she was silenced by turning into furniture.

As much as Megan would prefer to avoid the place, Megan rushed to work. Once there she made her way straight to Jackie's office. She waited outside the door. She was dreading the coming meeting, but was also impatient for it. She needed this to be over.

Finally, Megan heard footsteps approaching the office. Jackie appeared and Megan's throat went dry. Her heart pounded furiously. As soon as Jackie saw Megan, her eyes remained unblinking and fixed on her employee. Megan could feel her courage leaving her the longer that icy stare remained.

Before Megan could say anything, Jackie addressed her calmly but firmly.

"Just who I wanted to see, I would like a word in my office, now." Jackie said.

Megan tried to respond, but couldn't produce any words. The way Jackie stared at her made her afraid to do anything except meekly follow Jackie into the office. Jackie closed the door behind them. Megan was so nervous she almost jumped from the sound of the door closing.

"Well, I'll get right to the point. Yesterday, you were absent with no call in." Jackie said sternly. "This is unacceptable. You're playing an important role here, so I expect you to be here when you are scheduled. If there's any further absence or tardiness, I may be forced to take disciplinary action."

"Come on, say something!" One part of Megan's mind desperately screamed. She couldn't muster any words. What could she possibly say or do? She was terrified of what 'disciplinary action' could mean coming from someone with the ability to turn a person into a chair. She just stood there silently.

"I take it you understand. Oh, and try to remember our dress code as well. It will reflect badly on the company if you keep coming in looking disheveled like this." Jackie continued.

Megan hardly saw the point of worrying how she looked when she wouldn't be spending the day looking like herself anyway. However, she couldn't bring herself to do anything that might provoke the witch staring her down. When the clock struck eight, she quietly transformed into Jackie's chair once more.

With a satisfied smile, Jackie wheeled the chair behind her desk. She sat down and shifted in her seat for a minute trying to get in the most comfortable position. There was a lot of work to do. She would be sitting there all day.
