Gina was making her way back through the hotel hallway after an eventful day.

The local anime convention was happening that weekend at she had just participated in the event's Yu-gi-oh card game competition. For the occasion, she had cosplayed as Dark Magician Girl. She figured it was fitting for the event and she joked with her friends that the outfit would serve to distract any male opponents she played against.

She put up a good showing in the competition, winning her first three matches before losing in round four. Overall, it had been a fun way to spend the day. She had just dropped her cards off in her room and was making her way back to the convention area to check out the other attractions.

"Hey, nice job today!" She heard a voice behind her say. She turned around and saw the voice belonged to a young man. Gina recognized him as the guy she played against in the second round. He had a camera around his neck and a large book under his shoulder..

"Thanks," Gina replied politely. "Your deck took a bit of effort to figure out."

"Really it was just something I threw together with cards I was able to find at the game shop near my house, frankly I'm surprised I made it past the first round," he said. "That is a great costume by the way," he continued.

"Thanks," Gina replied. "I figured it would be a fun thing for the event. It does feel like I'm drawing a lot of attention to myself though."

"That's not necessarily a bad thing," the guy said. "In fact, would you mind if I got a picture? Yours is the best costume I've seen today."

Gina was a little embarrassed to be asked but she didn't see any harm in the guy's request. She moved across the hall and assumed a posed as if she were launching a magical attack.

"That's great hold there for a second," he said. His finger clicked the shutter and a bright flash of blue light made everything else disappear for an instant. Gina suddenly felt the tension in her leg from standing on one foot for her pose vanish. Her body now seemed to balance perfectly with no conscious effort on her part. In fact when she tried to set her other foot down she found it wouldn't move. "What's going on?" She pondered incredulously. She tried move again but found that her entire body seemed to be bound in the pose she had assumed before the picture was taken.

She tried to call out to the guy for help but found that her mouth and vocal chords were just as rigidly locked in place as the rest of her body. She was completely helpless.

All the while, the hallway around her seen to be growing, or was she shrinking? She wondered if the flash from the camera had messed with her sight.

The guy lowered his camera and walked toward Gina. As he approached, it became clear that she had not imagined everything around her becoming huge relative to her. The guy bent down and picked her up, confirming beyond a shadow of a doubt that she wasn't hallucinating.  The casual way he picked her up suggested that he was not at all surprised that she was now small enough to hold in his hand. He began carrying her down the hall and no matter how tightly he gripped her, she remained solidly in her pose as if she were a statue.

"What did he do to me?" She wondered frantically. When they passed the window at the end of the hallway, she got her answer. In the reflection she could just she herself in his hand. What she saw would have caused her to scream if she still had the ability to do so. She appeared to be a figure made of plastic, her one foot attached seamlessly to a small circular base. This was completely unbelievable, but it explained her size and her immobility. She wondered how and why this guy had done this. Despite her fear, she couldn't help also feeling a little angry. She considered the possibility that this was some kind of sick revenge for beating him in the competition.

"Who gets this upset about losing a card game?" She thought bitterly.
