This idea came up in a discord chat after another user mentioned writing workshops and a few others had reached out in the past asking for similar advice. I don't have time for workshops these days, but I have been through a formal writing program and I guess my stories here are popular enough given how niche / weird they are.

I hope that some of this might be helpful for beginners and others who want to write or improve short stories. There's an NBM angle to mine obviously, but this is all general enough it works for a lot of stories.

The advice here is *highly* opinionated and should be taken as such. It's probably okay to say I'm a "good writer" and this is some of the stuff that I consider part of what makes my writing good. But there's tons of good (and better) writers out there, and every writer and *reader* has their own preferences.

In any case, I hope people like this and find it helpful. If you're coming across this somehow through DA and you're not familiar with my other stories... Welp, they're going to be really fucking weird, I told you so.
