Had an idea to write a present-day Magical Realism piece. Kind of like where this is heading, or at least the 'tone' of this. Essentially the idea is that magic is just another thing some people are into, and is looked at kind of like getting a tattoo or any other bodily change. And hey, it's reversible too, and has some practical benefits. <br /><br />I don't know when / if I'll continue this particular storyline, but I do like the set up and may try and use it again.<br /><br />Might as well also say these were the vague notions I had of writing a longer piece (as if I had that kind of time and motivation, ha-ha):<br />-Magical Realism NBM Story<br />-Coming of Age follows girl growing up in sheltered household<br />-Discovering magic on her own as an adult<br />-Meeting romantic interests who are both into and not into magic<br />-Trying to keep a balance in her life between that, a job, and her religious parents<br />-Maybe throw in a crazy save the world or solve the mystery story on top of all this
