Swap Meet
It began with that distinct feeling of forgetting something. That feeling of forgetting what you were forgetting.
There was something I was missing. I just couldn’t place what that was.
These two girls were looking at me, with inspecting eyes.
“Hey Zee, what do you think of this one?” said one of them. She was a brunette with pretty eyes. The one she was talking too had short curly blonde hair cut close around the sides and wore some coke bottle glasses.
“Pretty cute,” she said.
The brunette ran her fingers through my hair.
“His hair’s nice,” she said. “He’s got those surfer curls.”
“Mmm,” said Zee. “Big lips too.”
“Think this could be the new Nicole?”
She picked me up and held me against her cheek. Zee looked from her face over to mine a couple times.
“That poor little head looks so confused,” she said with a smirk.
“Aww, poor little confused head,” said Nicole, turning me around to face her.
It seemed that I was only a head. Without a body. Okay.
That seemed unusual.
“You can talk right?” she said with a raised eyebrow.
“Um,” I said. “Yeah I guess so.”
“You remember anything? Your name, your body?”
“Uh,” I said. “I’m trying to. I think… I have a body.”
“Nope,” said Nicole. She tossed me up in the air and caught me again.
“You definitely do not have a body,” she said.
“I … feel like I did once,” I said.
“Hm,” said Nicole, sounding thoroughly unimpressed.
She turned me around to face Zee again.
“What do you think?”
“I like him,” she said with a shrug.
“Yeah, so do I,” said Nicole.
“Do you think he’s smart?” said Zee.
“I don’t know. Dude are you smart?” she asked me.
“I … I’m not really sure,” I said.
“Okay, so dumb,” said Nicole with a smirk. “But you know, dumb and cute, kind of go together.”
“Yeah, I can do dumb and cute,” said Zee nodding. “Means I win all the arguments.”
“Sounds like you’re our winner,” said Nicole, giving me a kiss on the forehead.
“Cool…” I said. “What did I win?”
Nicole rolled her eyes.
“They’re such space cadets like this,” she said.
“Who donated him?” said Zee.
“Uh,” said Nicole, leaning over. She looked at a card on the table. “Some dude named Robert.”
“Okay ‘Robert’,” said Zee, making air quotes. “Let’s go switch.”
They carried me over to some kind of big machine. Nicole slotted me into a box and then I heard her moving around inside it somewhere else.
Then the machine whirred to life. There was an electrical noise of something about to happen.

I blinked. Opened my eyes. Flexed my jaw.
Zoe was beaming at me. Damn, I would do god damn anything for her wouldn’t it.
Not that I really minded.
“Well?” she said.
“I like it,” I said, licking my lips and flexing my mouth a few times.
“Mmm,” said Zoe. “Yeah.”
I stepped out of the machine. Stepped.
Wow this was … different.
My hands moved up from my thighs to my hips to my sides to my boobs.
“You need a moment?” said Zoe with a giggle.
“Yeah,” I said. “Still … adjusting here.”
Our eyes locked.
I knew one thing for sure.
Reaching out I cupped Zoe’s face in one hand. Brought her over to mine and started making out with her.
“Mmm,” said Zoe, with a romantic sigh. “That’s what I’m talking about.”
“What do you think,” said Zoe, turning to Nicole’s head. Which was still by itself in the machine.
Wait.
No.
That wasn’t quite right.
See, I was Nicole.
I had to close my eyes and shake my head for a second to get that right.
“I think,” said whomever’s head this was, “That your boyfriend is really cute.”
“Hear that,” said Zoe, tugging on my arm. “*Boyfriend*.”
Then she dove onto my face again.
Bit by bit, the world was starting to make a little more sense to me. The feelings of forgetting were washing away like a dream after waking up. And like a dream I wasn’t able to hold onto much of it. I’d been a head on a table for a while, but now I was Nicole, with my girlfriend Zoe, and we were at a swap meet where I was going to switch out … well, everything.
Zoe finally gave up on possibly trying to devour my new face, and picked up my old head by the ponytail.
“Lets go return this one,” she said. “Then we can pick out the rest of you.”
She gestured to the arms and legs we’d already selected, which were now attached to me.
I still needed to get a guy’s torso. And hips. And… Well, a dick, obviously.
A new recent memory dropped into place, just before we went to select my new head. Waiting on a picnic table without any limbs, waiting for Zoe to finally pick out the set of arms she wanted for me.
Then, like an avalanche, all the rest of the memories fell on top of me. All at once. I had to stop there for a second.
I hadn’t had arms or legs on the car ride over either.
That was because we’d made a deal. I got to spend a few weeks without them, but in return for taking care of me, Zoe got to turn me into a dude for a while. She’d always been curious about boys, she said, but just had an easier time flirting with girls.
All the rest of it came after that. The night I met her when I was missing a head completely. The week she spent with a pussy on her face. Her first night with a dick. The time we tried to share a body and almost ended up breaking up.
All of it.
“Hey,” I said, pulling on her arm as she started to walk away.
“Yeah,” she said, turning over her shoulder.
“You’re pretty fucking great.”
