This story contains topics of transformation. You have been warned

The motorized fan whirred beneath you, giving structure to your fabric like form. Children in a wide variety of costumes streamed by, many dragging overloaded pillow cases behind them. Their parents stood by at the curb of your house, smiling and laughing as they took pictures of their kids in front of your new bloated form. But this isn’t where your story starts. It had begun hours earlier, with you and your sister setting up the Halloween decorations.

“That’s the last box” you stated aloud, hoping your sister could hear you. You had promised to help her set up the Halloween decorations, but you hadn’t expected her to take you up on the offer.

“You sure?” she responded as she rounder the corner of the house, a questioning look in her face  “I think something is missing.”

“Nope! That’s it. That was everything from the shelf. Need anything else?” you answered with a slight impatience to your voice.

“Now hold on” your sister commanded as she approached. “Are you absolutely sure you didn’t see anything else? Small box, roughly this big” she questioned as her hands mimed a two foot by two foot box. Nothing came to mind for you. You weren't playing games, there simply was nothing else to bring up.

“Sorry sis, that’s everything, can’t you just poof whatever you are looking into being anyways?”

“You know my magic doesn’t work that way.”

“Well that sucks I guess. What’s missing anyways?”

“Remember that big inflatable evil tree we’ve been using for the last few years. Well it looks like it was misplaced since last Halloween. Now I’m not too sure how we can decorate the house without it as the center piece” your sister explained.

“Ah well you’ll figure it out. Anyhow, still need my help with anything?” you asked halfheartedly, without any real intent to help.

“I don’t know. What can we do?” your sister muttered aloud, lost in thought. She stood there, eyes glancing around, mouth forming words without a sound, but it was a decent pause before the focus returned to her eyes, and they were staring right at you. “Help? Help! Wait!” she commanded “Yes, you can still be helpful”

“I’m not really sure...” you tried to respond but you suddenly realized what your sister meant as her eyes started to glow. “Wait! Not in that way. I didn’t agree to this!”

“You promised you would help today. That technically satisfies the requirements. And it will only be for the day” she responded as she half comforted you with a smile.

“No! I don’t want to be some...”

Zsspt

The blast of ethereal energy slammed into your chest, causing a static discharge across the front half of your body. The sparks that scattered over your skin caused your stomach to quiver with worry.

“What? Stop! I don’t want to ghhfpt” you tried to get your in a vain attempt to stop what was about to happen, but it was too late. But as your lips began to seal over themselves your sister only watched with a smile, doing nothing to stop the transformation that was now coursing its way through you.

The magic started with your mouth and nostrils, sealing the holes by pinching the surrounding skin shut. Then came the other holes that perforated your body, which sealed in a similar fashion. Pressure began to build within your core, trapped by your sealed orifices. With nowhere to go the mounting pressure began to warp your form, causing you to begin to round out from the excess pressure. Your sister only giggled at your predicament, laughing at the cartoonish shape you had become.

The spell did not see fit however to have a globe as your final form, taking a different direction in your transformation process. With two giant ethereal hands it gripped you, stretching you up and down into a long standing tube. It stretched your arms into long slender branches and wrung your legs into a single hollow trunk. Now, towering ten feet tall and reaching almost as wide you just bobbed against the wind. With a final burst of the spell your skin turned to a fabric like texture and the bottoms of your feet ceased to exist. Without anything to hold in the remaining pressure it rushed from your warped form, leaving you to fall into a heap on the ground.

“I wish I had my phone to record that bro” your sister laughed out as she approached your collapsed form. “All that bloating and bulging just made you look so silly. God, I wish mom was here, she would have gotten a good kick out of that. So lets see how you turned out, shall we” she commented as she picked up a part of you, leaving the rest stretched out on the ground. “Well... I’m not sure what I expected. The spell did exactly what I wanted and I can’t tell you apart from a normal inflatable lawn ornament now. Guess all that is left is to set you up then”

She dragged you over to the front of the house, where a blower was already set up. She hummed as she worked, clipping your feet around the blowers mouth and tying ropes from you to stakes in the ground. “There, all ready to go. Thanks for the help bro, you have been a really, and i mean really, big help” your sister said aloud before leaving you lying there in a crumpled heap on the ground.

The early morning cold had been the worst part of the experience. The damp autumn night had penetrated your fabric like for to what felt like your core. Icy daggers that stabbed against your now cold blooded form. But there was nothing you could do against the pain as you were simply a pile of fabric on the damp ground while your family was nice and cozy in their home.

Halloween had been fun, with the blower strapped to your feet having no difficulty keeping you up in the air. Yes tt had been rather embarrassing to be the center of attention for the evening, but as the evening had come to an end your mother had been the one to close things down for the night. With little grace or acknowledgement you were unplugged, left to flutter to the ground as your mother made her way around the rest of the yard, shutting lights and electronics off as she went. Without even a look back she closed the door, leaving you at the mercy of the elements.

But morning had come at last. The sun was rising, chasing off the morning dew. Its golden rays flowed over your crumpled form, warming you for what felt like the first time in forever. It was made all the better by the click of the front door, a signal that your time was finally done. But it wasn’t your sister that stepped out but your mother, who began to pack away the Halloween decoration. The light went first, then the large objects, then the fake spiders and the cobwebs. Soon you were the only decoration in the yard as your mother reentered the house. There was the hope. The hope that your sister had told your mother of your predicament. That she was going to get your sister to turn you back. Why else would she leave you for last. It would be so logical to start with the main piece of the decoration. Then you mother came back out, no sister in tow but a black bag in her hand, which dashed any hope that this was the case.

“I can’t find the box for the tree. I guess the kids lost the box again. Guess I’ll have to use a bag then” she commented aloud. As she stood over you with the black garbage bag you knew that your ordeal was far from over. With little care she opened the bag with her hands, holding it open while she carelessly kicked your form into the dark depths of the bag. It was over in a moment, leaving you face to face with your mother as you peered up at your mother. You searched her face in the moment, looking for any signs of recognition or anything that would help you now. But there would be none as she simply sealed the bag without grace, double knotting it for effect and trapping you in darkness. Your only hope left was that this was not the fate your sister had in mind for you.
