"Well, just think on the bright side," Elise thought, "Paul's on the phone now with them now." Her head sat on the cold titanium teleport pad that was warming with her body heat, or at least what was left of her body here. She'd tried to beat traffic across town to get to Paul's place for drinks and dinner. Although Paul's reminded her to be careful, she forgot to program the settings because he's on a different company's model. Sure, green text is annoying when you have an iphone, but partial teleportation is up there too going across carriers.

Cara's headless body arrived a few minutes before Elise's head did, it was now searching the walls for her lost head that was miles away. I'm sure Cara forgot to adjust her device too, she thought. Maybe they'll pitch in to get Paul the same telepad as them, when they are back together.

Paul got off the phone and relayed that he'll need to teleport head and body again from their home pads to restore the girls. Elise was watching Cara's bare feet waltz across the living room. Paul picks her up off the floor and repeats. Elise thinks for a minute and suggests since they are all here more or less, why don't we stay in and get ourselves together tomorrow.

"Besides," Elise adds, "even though I'm curious what my headless body's going to be up to when we find her tomorrow, I'm more interested in what the three of us are going to get into tonight."
