Mike strutted down the sidewalk, his athletic frame towering over his childhood friend Ted. They'd known each other since elementary school, but their lives had taken drastically different paths. Mike had become the quintessential "big man on campus" type, star athlete in college, successful sales executive now, and perpetually surrounded by beautiful women. Ted, by contrast, had retreated into academics, eventually becoming some kind of research scientist that Mike never bothered to understand.
"Seriously though," Mike said, clapping Ted on the shoulder hard enough to make him stumble, "when was the last time you even talked to a woman who wasn't behind a checkout counter?"
Ted's eyes remained fixed on the cracked sidewalk. "I talk to women at work all the time."
"Yeah, about your nerdy science shit," Mike laughed. "I mean like, talked to them. With your dick doing some of the thinking."
"Can we just drop it?" Ted mumbled, fishing for his house keys as they approached his modest bungalow.
"Come on, I'm just trying to help you out! You're what, thirty-two now? And still living alone in this dump?" Mike gestured broadly at Ted's home. The lawn was overgrown, and the paint was peeling. "Meanwhile, I've got a rotation of hotties so steady I need a spreadsheet to keep track."
Ted's jaw tightened as he unlocked his front door. "Not everyone measures success the same way you do, Mike."
"Clearly," Mike snorted, following Ted inside. The interior was cluttered with books, electronics, and what looked like laboratory equipment. "Jesus, Ted. This place is a fucking mess. No wonder you can't get laid."
Ted set his backpack down carefully beside what appeared to be some kind of half-assembled device. "I've been busy with my research."
"Research," Mike mimicked in a whiny voice. "What are you even researching that's so important you can't clean your shithole house or talk to women?"
"It's complicated," Ted replied, his voice growing quieter.
Mike picked up a strange metallic object from a side table, turning it in his hands. "What's this? Some kind of sex toy for lonely scientists?"
Ted snatched it away, his face flushing. "It's part of a project I've been working on. Please don't touch anything."
"Oh, I bet it's a project," Mike winked exaggeratedly. "Let me guess, you're building yourself a robot girlfriend because real women find you repulsive?"
"Stop it, Mike." Ted's voice had an edge to it now.
Mike grinned, sensing weakness. "What's wrong? Hit too close to home? You know, this is why you can't get laid. You're so fucking sensitive." He followed Ted into the kitchen, where his friend was pouring himself a glass of water with shaking hands. "I bet you haven't even kissed a girl since Sarah Pendleton in tenth grade. And she only did it because she felt sorry for you."
"I said stop." Ted's knuckles were white around the glass.
"Or what? You'll bore me to death with science facts?" Mike laughed, leaning against the counter. "Face it, Ted. Some guys just have it, and some don't. And you, my friend, definitely don't have it. You're going to die alone surrounded by your weird gadgets and-"
Ted's fist connected with Mike's jaw so suddenly that Mike didn't even see it coming. The impact sent him stumbling backward, his head cracking against the edge of the counter before everything went black.
-------------------------------------------
Mike's head throbbed as consciousness returned slowly. He tried to reach up to touch his aching jaw, but his arms wouldn't move. His eyes fluttered open to unfamiliar surroundings, a dimly lit basement, with fluorescent tubes that buzzed overhead. Strange equipment lined the walls, bubbling liquids in various colors, computers with incomprehensible data scrolling across screens, and in the center of it all, a circular device that looked like something out of a sci-fi movie.
"What the fuck?" Mike muttered, realizing he was bound to a chair with sturdy restraints across his hips, wrists, and ankles. Panic surged through him as he struggled against the restraints. "Ted? TED!"
"Relax, Mike. I'm right here." Ted's voice came from behind him, unnervingly calm.
Mike craned his neck to see Ted moving methodically around the basement laboratory, checking readings and adjusting equipment. "What the hell is this? Let me go right now!"
Ted circled around to face Mike, his expression eerily serene. "You know, I've put up with your bullshit for twenty-five years. Twenty-five years of your condescension, your mockery, your constant reminders of how much better you think you are than me."
"Come on, man, I was just joking around," Mike said, forcing a nervous laugh. "You know I didn't mean anything by it."
Ted's eyes hardened. "Yes, you did. You've always meant it. You've always thought you were better than me because you can charm women into your bed. Because your muscles are bigger. Because you fit some arbitrary standard of masculinity that society has programmed into us."
"Teddy, buddy, you're scaring me," Mike said, struggling harder against the restraints. "This isn't funny. Untie me and we can talk about this like normal people."
"Normal?" Ted laughed, a hollow sound that echoed in the basement. "What's normal, Mike? Is it normal to belittle your supposed friend at every opportunity? Is it normal to reduce women to conquests? Is it normal to measure a man's worth by how many 'hotties' he's fucked?"
Mike's eyes darted around the basement, taking in the bizarre equipment. "What is all this stuff? What have you been doing down here?"
"This," Ted gestured proudly to the laboratory, "is my real work. Not the mundane research I do at the university. This is what I've been developing while you've been 'chasing tail,' as you so eloquently put it."
Mike stared at the circular contraption over his head with dozens of electrodes pointing inward. "What the fuck is that thing?"
"That," Ted said, patting the machine lovingly, "is the culmination of years of research into cellular and materials manipulation through targeted electrical stimulation. In layman's terms – well I wouldn’t want to ruin the surprise."
Cold dread washed over Mike. "Ted, listen to me. You're having some kind of breakdown. Just let me go, and we can get you some help."
"I don't need help," Ted said, moving to a control panel. "But you might need some after I'm done with you."
"Wait!" Mike shouted, his voice cracking with fear. "Look, I'm sorry about what I said! I was being an asshole! I can help you, man! I know lots of women, I could set you up with someone nice. Someone who'd appreciate a smart guy like you!"
Ted's laughter was bitter. "You still don't get it. This isn't about finding a woman." His eyes gleamed with a frightening intensity as he looked Mike up and down. " Why go through all that trouble when I can make the perfect girlfriend right here?"
"You're fucking insane!" Mike screamed, thrashing violently against the restraints. "Ted, please! This isn't you! Think about what you're doing!"
"I've thought about little else for months," Ted replied calmly. "And now it's time." His finger descended on the button.
The circular device above Mike hummed to life, arcs of blue electricity dancing between the electrodes. Mike's screams were cut short as the first bolt struck him, his entire body going rigid with the current flowing through him. His muscles contracted painfully, every fiber tensing to its limit.
Ted didn't speak, didn't explain. He simply watched with rapt attention, his eyes wide and eager as his creation began to work.
Mike tried to fight against the current, but his body was no longer his to command. His biceps flexed involuntarily, bulging against the restraints. The contraction intensified, muscles straining to their absolute limit before they started to shrink. The sensation was excruciating, like thousands of tiny needles pulling his flesh inward and rearranging it. Mike's powerful arms, once the pride of his gym routine, contracted again and again, each spasm leaving them smaller, more slender, more feminine.
The electrical current shifted, targeting his shoulders next. They seized violently, the broad shelf of his masculine shoulders contracting inward with each painful pulse. The bones themselves seemed to grind against each other as they narrowed, restructuring his entire upper frame to something more delicate, more petite. Mike tried to resist, attempting to flex against the current, but each attempt only accelerated the transformation, his body betraying him with every movement.
The electricity intensified as it moved to his chest. Mike's pecs convulsed, tensing so hard he thought they might tear from the bone. But instead of tearing, they began to change. With each contraction, the dense muscle loosened slightly, allowing fat to infiltrate inside it. Another spasm, and more muscle converted to fat. The process repeated itself in agonizing increments—contract, loosen, swell, repeat. Mike could feel his chest reshaping itself with every pulse of electricity, the flat plane of his pecs gradually swelling outward, taking on the soft, rounded contours of breasts.
"No!" Mike gasped between contractions, but his protest was swallowed by another wave of pain as his new breasts continued to develop. The skin stretched to accommodate their growth, nerve endings multiplying and spreading across the newly formed tissue. Each jolt of electricity now sent conflicting sensations through his chest, both pain from the transformation, but also a strange, unwelcome pleasure as his newly sensitive nipples hardened in response to the current.
Mike tried to look down at what was happening to his body, but another surge of electricity forced his head back. The current moved lower, encompassing his abdomen. His six-pack, once so defined you could bounce a quarter off it, began a series of violent contractions. Each muscle group seized independently, starting at the outside and working inward. As they contracted, they seemed to pull his waist inward from both sides, like an invisible corset tightening notch by notch until a smooth flat stomach remained.
Ted circled the chair, his breathing becoming shallow and excited as he watched Mike's transformation unfold.
The current surged again, this time targeting Mike's lower body. His ass seized in a series of painful spasms. Like his pecs, each contraction seemed to change the muscle to a softer, more pliable form. But this time the expansion was immediate and dramatic. With each contraction, it grew fuller, rounder, lifting higher on the chair. Even his legs seemed to be getting shorter, the muscles of his calves contracting so intensely that the bones themselves condensed slightly, removing perhaps an inch or two from his height.
The current shifted again, and Mike felt a bizarre tingling across his skin. The electricity seemed to be burning away his body hair, even changing the very tone of skin, every patch changing in tiny, painful zaps, leaving behind skin that was unnaturally smooth and increasingly soft to the touch.
Above, the machine recalibrated, sending a new pattern of energy coursing through Mike. This time, it concentrated on his head, making his scalp burn with intense heat. The static electricity made every strand of his short-cropped hair stand on end, as if he had stuck his finger in an electrical socket. But the strands didn't just rise, they also began to stretch upward, pulled by some invisible force. Inch by inch, his hair extended upward into the air, then the weight of the lengthening strands began to pull them down, cascading over his ears, then his shoulders, finally settling midway down his back.
Mike's face was last, his brow contracting to sculpt his eyebrows into perfect, delicate arches; his lips convulsing, plumping and reshaping; even his nose contracting inward as the cartilage restructured into a smaller, more button-like shape.
With one final surge, the electricity enveloped Mike's entire body, causing his clothes to constrict and reshape. His loose-fitting t-shirt shrank and tightened, the neckline dipping to reveal the cleavage of his new breasts. The sleeves disappeared entirely, transforming into a form-fitting tank top. His jeans tightened around his new curves, the legs shrinking until they became short denim cutoffs that showcased his feminine thighs.
As suddenly as it had begun, the electricity stopped. The machine powered down with a descending hum, leaving the basement in eerie silence broken only by Mike's ragged breathing.
The moment the current ceased, Mike exploded into frantic motion. His new, smaller body thrashed against the restraints with a desperate energy. The restraints creaked but held firm as he bucked and twisted in the chair, his now-delicate wrists rubbing raw against the bindings. His long hair whipped around his face as he jerked his head from side to side, trying to find some weakness, some way to escape.
"Let me OUT!" The voice that emerged was high and unmistakably feminine, but filled with the same rage and panic that had been building inside him throughout the transformation. He continued to struggle violently, his new breasts heaving with each exertion, the tank top slipping to reveal more of his cleavage.
Ted watched the display with fascination, keeping a safe distance from the chair as Mike's slender legs kicked uselessly at the air.
After nearly a minute of continuous struggling, Mike's new body simply didn't have the stamina his male form had possessed. His movements became weaker, his breathing more labored. Finally, he slumped in the chair, chest rising and falling rapidly, a thin sheen of sweat making his smooth skin glisten under the basement lights.
"What have you done to me?" Mike finally managed to ask, looking down at his transformed body in absolute horror. Every movement, no matter how small, brought new awareness of his altered state - the weight of his breasts shifting with each breath, the emptiness between his legs, the way his smaller frame sat differently in the chair.
Ted circled Mike's chair and admiring his handiwork. "I've created perfection," he said, voice filled with awe. "Look at you. You're exactly what I've always wanted."
"Change me back!" Mike screamed, the soprano pitch of his voice amplifying his desperation. "Right fucking now, Ted!"
Ted shook his head, his eyes never leaving Mike's new form. "Why would I change back something so beautiful? Do you have any idea how long I've been working on this technology? And now," he marveled, gesturing to Mike's body, "now I've achieved something revolutionary."
Tears welled in Mike's eyes, spilling over and tracking down his cheeks. Every sensation was heightened, overwhelming, from the feel of the tears on his more sensitive skin to the constriction of the tank top around his chest.
"You're sick," Mike spat, twisting his shoulders in another attempt to free himself, only to be distracted by the unfamiliar movement of his breasts. He froze, looking down at them in horror.
"Maybe," Ted conceded with a shrug. "But I'm also brilliant. And now I finally have a girlfriend who understands me, who knows me better than anyone else could." He reached out to touch Mike's face, who jerked away violently. "We've known each other our whole lives, Mike. Or should I call you Michelle now? We have history. That's more than I could have with any woman I might have met."
"I am not your girlfriend," Mike hissed, his feminine voice undermining the threat he tried to convey. "And I never will be. The minute you let me out of this chair, I'm going to fucking kill you."
Ted's smile didn't falter. "I don't think you understand your situation. You have nowhere to go. Who would believe what happened to you? Who would even recognize you? Besides, did you think that was all the machine can do?"
Fresh panic flooded through Mike. "What do you mean?"
Ted straightening up. "Let’s just say I think it's time we had our first date. Right here, just the two of us. And if you behave, maybe I'll consider loosening those restraints." His eyes darkened. "And if you don't... well, there are still a few improvements I could make to my perfect girlfriend."
"This isn't over," Mike said quietly, but the tremor in his new voice betrayed his uncertainty.
Ted's smile widened as he looked at the woman in front of him. "You're right about that. In fact, it's only just beginning."
