Barrett gazes across the table at his interrogator with a look of stubborn defiance. “Go to hell” he snarls. “I’m never giving you those access codes.”
The bald, muscular man across from him slams his fist down on the table. “You do NOT want to go to war with us, punk!” He yells. “You and your crew are nothing! We’ll get the codes either way. If you tell us now, we’ll spare you and your little girlfriend.”
Barrett clenches his jaw. “Fuck you” he replies. “We didn’t start this war. Your Consortium is spying on the entire world and trying to control every aspect of our lives. We’re going to bring you down.”
The man leans back in his chair with a smirk. “Yeah, we’ll see about that. I think maybe after you see who we’ve brought in, you’ll have a change of heart.”
With that, the man stands and exits the room. Barrett can feel his heart racing, and struggles to maintain his composure.
A few minutes later, the door opens and Barrett feels his stomach drop when he sees who walks into the room.
“…mom? Dad? Oh, no.” He moans, looking up at his parents. His mother has tears in her eyes and her dark hair looks disheveled, like she hadn’t slept in days. His father looks equally worried, but more composed, with an uncharacteristically thick stubble on his face.
“Oh, Barrett” his mother cries, moving towards him.
“Stop!” The guard orders. “No physical contact!”
She freezes and lets out a desperate sob, looking down at her son with a mixture of fear and worry.
“Sit down!” The guard commands, and they immediately obey.
“What are you doing here?” Barrett asks. “I can’t believe they involved you in this.”
“They came to our house two days ago” his father replies. “Said you were some kind of subversive. Said they’d take our property and lock us up if you didn’t cooperate. Willow and Mary too.”
Barrett’s shoulders slump when he hears his younger sisters’ names.
“I’m…so, so sorry” he laments.
His mother places her hands on the table. “Can’t you just tell them what they want to know? You can come home with us, sweetheart. And forget all of this. Nothing is more important than our family” she pleads.
Barrett hangs his head. “I…I can’t, mom. These people are pure evil. They have to be stopped.”
“Even if it costs us our freedom?” His mother asks, a tear running down her cheek.
He stares down at the table. “I’m so, so sorry.”
His parents plead with him for another few minutes. It feels like torture, but he knows he can’t give in, despite how much he loves them.
The door opens suddenly and the guard steps in. “Enough!” He growls. He looks at Barrett’s parents. “Get up! Back to your cell.”
His mother sobs while his father looks at him with a disappointed expression, shaking his head. “This isn’t right, son” he says softly.
Barrett doesn’t reply, and sadly watches his parents be led out of the room.
MINUTES LATER
His parents are led into another, larger room down the hall. When they arrive, a bearded man looks up from a laptop. “That didn’t go very well” he comments.
“That little bastard is stubborn” his mother replies angrily. “He must not give a shit about his stupid parents.”
“Yeah” his father adds. “You did a good job with the tearful begging, but it was hopeless.”
His mother grunts in agreement. “Damn it. I guess it’s time for plan B. At least I can take this bitch’s face off now.”
Barrett’s “mother” reaches a slender hand into the neckline of her ruffled sweater. She scratches with her nails, revealing a finely tapered seam running along her collarbone. She slips her fingers underneath, and tugs her skin up roughly. Her chin and lips crumple upwards with a sucking noise, before her nose and eye sockets separate from whatever lies beneath. With a loud, rubbery squelching sound, her entire face and hair snap off completely, revealing a young man with a shaved head.
“Thanks for nothing, Mrs. Walker” he sneers, still using her voice, as the mask flops around lifelessly in his hands. He tosses it onto the metal table, where it lands with a hollow thwack, long dark hair skewing across the surface.
He glances at his partner, who already has Earl Walker’s stubbly face mostly off. With a loud squelch, it jerks free and lands on the table next to his “wife”.
Xavier, the man wearing the body and face of Juliet Walker, tugs off the sweater covering his disguised torso, revealing her slender, middle-aged body. With practised hands, he unclasps her simple cotton bra and her slightly drooping breasts spring free. He turns and reaches behind his back, digging his nails into the fake skin covering his neck, searching for the tiny zipper. He starts walking to a changing area on the other side of the room. “I can’t wait to get her body off, too” he comments in his fake, matronly voice.
The other man, Arnold, lifts the deflated father’s face from the table and prepares to follow his partner. He winces as he peels off the voice strip covering his neck. Turning to the mean in front of the computer, he asks “Speaking of Plan B, what’s the status?”
The bearded man checks his laptop and then replies “Looks like we’re ready. The mask was the final piece, and it just got out of the hair puncher.”
He nods towards a long workbench. Sitting on a stand is another mask, also impossibly realistic and indistinguishable from the face it was designed to replicate. This one is of a woman, with high cheekbones and a thin, slender nose. Her brunette hair is buzzed short on one side, but the other side is long and wavy, falling just beneath her shoulders with two bright blue streaks. A small infinity sign tattoo sits to the side of “her” left eye.
“Who’s going to double her?” Arnold asks.
“Mason is” the man replies, after consulting the computer. “He’s skinny like Xavier, so the suit’s padding will work perfectly. He’s gone over the file thoroughly, and apparently he’s got a score to settle.”
“Damn right I do” another man announces, stepping out from behind a room divider. From the neck down, strangely, he has an unmistakably feminine body. Wide, flaring hips sit below a slim waist. A pair of modest, perky breasts hang from his chest, and a neatly trimmed groin lies between his smooth legs. There’s a large, thin-line geometric tattoo on the right side of the body’s torso, starting just underneath its breast and running up over the arm’s shoulder, down to the elbow. Various freckles and blemishes are scattered across the pale body, along with a few notable scars.
“That son of a bitch is responsible for exposing an operation I spent three years planning and running” he says. “I’m going to burn his whole group to the ground, even if I have to impersonate his tramp of a girlfriend to do it.”
Arnold grins. “Well, you have to admit, he has good taste in women” he remarks.
Mason rolls his eyes. “Yeah, she’s sort of hot, I guess.” He squeezes one of the suit’s prosthetic breasts, pinching the taut nipple between two fingers. “Nice tits, anyway.”
Xavier returns from the changing area, carrying the deflated replica of Barrett’s mom. He tosses it carelessly onto one of the empty tables, and one of its arms dangles over the side. “Yeah, and how about that ass? I didn’t read about that in the file” He comments with a smirk, joining the conversation.
Mason smiles and turns, placing his hand underneath his padded rear. He jiggles the suit’s ass provocatively, chuckling while he does so, and the others all laugh along with him. The suit’s lifelike genitalia is clearly visible between its pale thighs.
He stops and turns toward the mask. “Her body might be sexy, but I’m not sure about her choice of haircut” he muses. He brushes his fingers along the trimmed portion of the mask’s mane, before running them through the wavy locks on the opposite side.
Arnold shrugs. “Eh, it’s how all the hipster hacker chicks wear it nowadays” he comments, making his way to the changing area.
Mason grabs onto the dark brown hair and lifts the mask from its stand. He holds the flopping, rubbery mass in his hands as he sits down on a metal stool in front of a large mirror. He sets the mask down, its empty eye sockets gazing blankly up at the ceiling.
Xavier watches as Mason opens a small case and extracts a tan-coloured strip. He peels back the lining and presses it firmly against the outside of his larynx. He winces, and Xavier recognizes the mild shock as the voice modulator activates.
“Testing…testing…” Mason says, now in a much higher and breathier tone.
Reaves, the man at the computer, looks up and states “Ninety-nine point one percent on target. Well within the acceptable limit.” He returns to his focused typing on the keyboard.
“Excellent” Mason murmurs in his new, feminine voice.
While he dons a smooth skull cap, Arnold returns and asks the group “Not that I don’t have faith in plan B, but are we also ready for plan C?”
“This will work…” Mason mutters, as he slips a pair of greenish-brown contact lenses into his eyes.
Reaves glances down at his screen. “Looks like another hour or so. They’re waiting on the masks again. One just got out of the sprayer, and the other is about to go in. Here…” he says.
He presses a key and the big monitor on the wall comes to life, showing a live video of what looks to be an elaborate workshop. Clearly visible on a workbench are another two masks, each replicating the appearance of a young woman. They are both hairless, and while one of them looks perfectly lifelike, the other’s skin texture is unnaturally smooth and featureless. As they watch, a technician picks up the lifelike one and loads it into a machine that has a spool of what appears to be blonde hair mounted on the side. On the far left of the screen, two matching full-body suits hang on a rack.
Xavier smiles. “So if the girlfriend doesn’t work out, we hit him with his sisters?”
Arnold grins back at him. “Yep. That was my idea.”
“I’m telling you, it won’t be necessary” Mason restates, now sporting a new set of teeth that replicate a slight overbite. He moves a lipstick-looking tube across his face, coating it with a clear liquid.
“I’m sure it won’t be, but we should be prepared” Arnold replies. “The reason we went with the parents first is because there was a lot more data available on them to build their profiles. This chick is more of a ghost, that’s all.”
“Yeah, but I’ve been tracking her and Barrett for years” Mason says, poking the empty mask’s cheek. “I know everything there is to know about her.”
He lifts the mask from the workbench and slides his hands inside the open neck. He gives it a little shake to clear the hair away from the opening, and starts to stretch it wider.
Then, the door opens and a woman enters. She looks to be in her late thirties, and her dirty blonde hair is pulled back into a tight bun.
“What is the current status, gentlemen?” She asks the group sharply.
Arnold replies, “We’re on track, ma’am. It didn’t work with the subject’s parents, but we anticipated that. Mason is preparing to double Chloe Baker now. As you know, she’s the group’s top computer expert and Barrett’s girlfriend. We have high confidence he’ll succeed in getting the information, but we have another contingency plan just in case.”
The woman nods curtly. “Yes, the sisters. I saw it in the briefing. That was good thinking.”
Arnold smiles proudly. “Thank you, ma’am.”
“And how are you planning to explain Chloe’s presence here?” The woman inquires.
“Latest intel on their main location points to an industrial complex north of the city. The informant died in interrogation before giving up the exact location, but it’s enough for us to bluff a raid” Arnold replies.
She nods and looks over at Mason, noting the gaping mask of the young brunette stretched open in his hands. “We’re counting on you, Mason” she says. “Don’t fuck it up.”
“I won’t, ma’am. I’ll get this done” he replies, sounding more than a little ridiculous using Chloe’s copied voice.
She nods again. “Reaves, we just got this data in from the field. Analyze it immediately and let me know if you find anything useful” she says, handing the computer technician a flash drive.
He nods, accepting the drive. “Will do, ma’am.”
The woman leaves the room abruptly.
Arnold addresses the others. “Jane doesn’t accept failure, guys. Let’s get going.”
Mason stares down at the inside of Chloe’s empty face and takes a deep breath. In a swift motion, he ducks down and lifts the mask up over his head. The pliable material stretches to accommodate him, as he slowly tugs it lower and lower onto his face. He lets out a soft grunt, then feels his chin and nose snap simultaneously into place. He slides his fingers out from underneath the fake skin and starts to adjust the mask’s features over his own.
Xavier leans against a table with his arms crossed and watches the transformation. Even though he’d been similarly disguised as Barrett’s mother, among countless other previous subjects, he was still amazed by the realism of the masks. One moment you were you, the next, you were someone else entirely. Not even the subject’s family or closest friends could possibly tell the difference.
Mason had doubled people countless times before, so it only takes a few moments for him to get the mask perfectly adjusted. He opens his eyes and, as expected, sees the perfectly recreated face of Chloe Baker staring back at him, with her classic “resting bitch face” expression.
He expertly runs the tips of her fingers along the inside of his lips, nostrils, ears and around his eyes to complete the seal. He scrunches his face, opens his mouth wide, and makes a variety of other expressions to check the fit. Satisfied that the mask and adhesive are performing as they should, he quickly covers the mask’s neck seam with concealer, hiding it completely.
Then, he takes a hair brush and starts stroking it through the the long, wavy locks now falling on the right side of his head. After he smooths out the tangles that had formed from putting on the mask, he runs his fingers along the closely cropped hair on the other side of his head.
“Such a dumb fucking look” he mutters in her biting tone.
Xavier chuckles. “Looking cute, Chloe” he banters.
She gives him a sarcastic smile and turns to Reaves, who holds up a handheld face scanner. It beeps and he says “Ninety-nine point four percent convergence. Excellent.”
The disguised Mason nods and turns back to the mirror. He uses a small brush to apply a generous amount of eyeliner to his new prosthetic face. Then, he picks up a black metal ring and slips it over his lower lip. Instead of a piercing, the ring would use a strong adhesive to remain in place.
Arnold looks up from his tablet at the naked imposter and says “This must be a strange one for you, eh? To be doubling your nemesis.”
The fake Chloe nods. “Yeah” she replies. “In a way it’s just like all the other times, but it is a little unsettling to be wearing this bitch’s face after she’s caused us so much trouble.”
Finished with the disguise, Mason runs his hands over his new naked body, doing one final check. His fingers graze one of the prosthetic nipples on his chest, and even though he doesn’t feel anything, he still feels a shiver run down his spine. He would never admit it, but it was incredibly thrilling to be wearing Chloe’s face and body as his own.
Xavier drops a small bag in front of him. “Here you go. Wardrobe matched her clothes.”
“Thanks” Mason replies, opening the bag.
He quickly pulls on a black thong and matching bra, which pushes up the Chloe’s breasts provocatively. He then dons a pair of black ripped skinny jeans, a fitted grey v-neck t-shirt and a dark leather jacket. Finally, he slips on a pair of socks and stylish, worn boots.
“That’s all there is” Xavier comments. “Guess she’s not one for jewelry.”
“Nah, I’m not. Except for this” she replies with a smirk, pointing to her lip ring.
Arnold walks over to the imposter with a pair of handcuffs. “Time for the show” he says with a smile.
“Aw, at least buy me dinner first” she pouts, eliciting a round of laughter from the group.
“Very funny” Arnold replies, securing the handcuffs around her pale wrists.
The disguised Mason looks into the mirror one final time, and sees himself encased in Chloe Baker’s body. He feels his pulse quicken, and takes another deep breath.
His face adopts an arrogant, almost bored expression. “Let’s do this.”
TEN MINUTES LATER
Barrett stares at the one-way glass, trying to let whoever is on the other side know that he’s not intimidated. There was nothing they could do to get him to talk.
The door opens, and he hears a familiar voice.
“Get your fucking hands off me! Bet you like trying to feel me up, huh, pervert?”
A young woman is led into the room by another man.
“Chloe!” Barrett exclaims. “Shit! They got you, too?”
She’s shoved roughly into the chair across from him, and her handcuffs are secured to the table. She looks over at him with a determined expression, but Barrett knows her well enough to recognize a subtle hint of fear.
“Yeah” she replies. “They raided the warehouse a few hours ago. Assholes took everyone into custody.”
Barrett’s shoulders slump. “That means…they have access to our network.”
She nods, and a stray lock of hair falls in front of her eyes. She tosses her head to move it out of the way and leans forward, her hands trying to reach his.
“Sit back!” The guard orders. “No physical contact.”
She glares over at him. “Fuck you, you fucking fascist!”
He takes a step forward and pulls his stun gun slightly up out of its holster. “Try me, bitch” he snarls.
She glowers at him with a look of pure rage, but she relents and pulls her hands back, while continuing to lean her body forward.
Looking at Barrett, she says “Kenzie initiated the system wipe, but they were able to abort before it erased everything. Their techs must be working on it now.”
He looks down at the cold metal table. “Then it’s over.”
She looks down as well, then raises her head back up. “Did they offer you the deal? The key codes for your release?”
Barrett replies “Yeah, I told them to go to hell. But that was before I knew they’d found us.”
Chloe nods. “Look, there’s no way our encryption is going to hold for long. It will probably only take them a few hours to break in” she says. Then, she takes a deep breath before continuing “I can’t believe I’m suggesting this, but if they’re offering us our freedom for the codes…maybe we just give them up.”
His eyebrows raise. “You’re serious?”
Her shoulders slump. “I don’t know. Look, if they didn’t find our servers, I would tell them all to go to hell, too. But it doesn’t make any difference anymore. If we stay quiet, the best case scenario is they’re in our system a few hours after they would be if we told them the codes.”
“I don’t know, Chloe...we just give in?”
She reaches her hand out and places it over his. “Either way, they win. At least in one scenario, we make it out of here to fight another day.”
Barrett sighs. “You’re right. They’re getting into our network either way. It’s the only option.”
She gives his hand a tender squeeze. “It’s going to be okay. I love you.”
He looks up into her eyes. “I love you, too.”
Behind the one-way glass, the interrogator speaks into his radio.
“He’s going for it. Get Reaves and notify Jane immediately.”
A minute later, the door opens and the interrogator steps inside, with Reaves closely behind him. He places his laptop on the table and pulls up another chair. After a few seconds, he looks up and says “All right, what are the codes?”
Barrett sighs and recites a long series of numbers and letters. Reaves types on the keyboard until the last one is entered. He turns the computer to the interrogator and says “The virus is ready to deploy, but I need a minimum level five clearance to initiate an attack on an outside server.”
The man nods. “Fine. Jane authorized us to do whatever it takes.”
He places his thumb on a scanner next to the keyboard, and a light turns green. Then, he punches in a long alphanumeric code to authenticate his identity. At the same time, the door opens and the stern-looking Jane enters, closing it behind her.
“What is the status?” She asks incisively.
Reaves smirks and looks up at the woman, nodding. “It worked. We’re in.”
“Full system access?” She asks him.
He nods again.
Barrett looks across the table. “Guess it’s time for us to get out of here then, huh?”
Instead of looking hopeful or relieved, Chloe returns his gaze with a devious smirk on her face.
“Thanks for the codes, dumbass” she jeers. She tosses her head back and starts laughing out loud. “You really fell for it! I knew if I dressed up in this tramp’s body you’d do whatever we wanted.”
Surprisingly, Reaves leans over to her and says “He wasn’t talking to you, bitch.”
She looks at him with a confused expression. The look of confusion quickly turns to shock as Jane pulls a black pistol-shaped object from behind her back. With lightning speed, she points it at the guard in the corner and pulls the trigger. A tiny dart embeds itself in his neck, and she quickly turns the gun on the interrogator. He had already started to go for his own weapon, but another dart hits him right in the chest.
Seconds later, both men collapse, unconscious.
“What the fuck!” The fake Chloe exclaims, tugging at her chained wrists. “Jane, you can’t do this! They’ll kill you!”
Jane looks down at the struggling imposter and snarls “You wear that face, and you still assume I’m really Jane?”
Understanding dawns on the disguised Mason, and his eyes widen. “W…what…you don’t have the capability…” he stammers in Chloe’s borrowed voice.
Reaves leans over again. “That’s where you’re wrong, sweetheart.”
Brent just smiles. He remembers back to that night outside Berlin, when they’d broken into an abandoned Consortium facility. They’d thought the mission was a bust, but they’d hit the jackpot in the basement. It seems whoever had been working there had been too careless to fully clean the place out. His group had found everything they’d need to create disguises as lifelike as those used by their enemy. Moulders, sprayers, hair punchers, voice modulation tech and a plethora of supplies and accessories.
“Jane” has retrieved the keys from the guard’s pocket, and quickly unlocks Barrett’s restraints. He rubs his wrists and glares at the person impersonating his girlfriend.
“You assholes dress yourselves up as my parents and my girlfriend, now? You deserve what’s coming.”
Desperately trying to recover, the imposter protests with a pleading look in her eyes “Barrett, this is a mistake, you can’t listen to these people! I love you! We have to get out of here!”
Reaves laughs. “Nice try” he says with a smirk.
He stands up from the table and walks around behind her. He reaches down to her chest and starts scratching her skin, and she starts to thrash around in her restraints.
“Get your hands off me!”
“Sit still, asshole” he snarls. “Ah, here we are…”
His fingers find the invisible seam and claw their way underneath the prosthetic skin. He pulls upwards roughly, and after considerable effort the fake woman’s chin snaps away. Her lips follow suit as her face starts to crumple.
“No! Wait! Don’t…mrgphhh!” She wails, her voice becoming muffled as the mask comes off.
Finally, with a rubbery sucking noise, her entire face and hair come off in Reaves’ hands, revealing Mason’s panicked face.
Reaves reaches down and yanks the voice strip from the imposters neck.
“Ow! Damn it!” Mason yells, now in his own voice.
“Still want to play the girlfriend card?” Barrett taunts, as Reaves jiggles the dangling, flopping mask of Chloe’s face for all to see.
“Go to hell” their captive replies.
“Right back at you” Reaves affirms. He holds the mask up and examines its intricate details. “Ugh, it’s so fucking weird seeing my face as a mask.”
Mason’s eyes widen and his head snaps up to Reaves. “What! You’re…Chloe?!”
“Reaves” drops the mask onto the table with a loud plop. “Who else would be able to infiltrate your entire network while you interrogated my boyfriend here?” He snickers. “Thanks to that dummy’s fingerprint and code, we have everything we need.”
“Uh, it feels weird to hear you referring to me as your boyfriend when you’re wearing that face” Barrett states with a smirk.
“Sorry, bro” the fake Reaves jokes in his gruff voice. Barrett rolls his eyes.
Jane interrupts by saying in an uncharacteristically sarcastic tone “Hey lovers, we can finish this discussion later. You know, like, when we’re in the van and driving away from here.”
She raises the dart gun and fires another into Mason’s arm. He glares up at his captors, but his eyes quickly glaze over as his head drops to the table, landing on the fleshy heap.
“I’m definitely taking this with us” the woman impersonating Reaves says, grabbing the mask out from underneath the unconscious imposter. “He was practically getting off on wearing me.”
“Gross. Let’s move” Barrett says, moving to the door.
“Hang on” Jane orders. “It will look suspicious if you’re out of the cuffs.”
“Shit, you’re right” he reluctantly agrees. Jane quickly places the restraints back on his wrists.
Seconds later, the three of them step into the hall, and Jane uses her stolen ID card to put a security lock on the door. Then they move quickly down the corridor.
When they turn the corner, they see a guard approaching.
“We’re moving the prisoner down to level four” Jane says with a commanding, authoritative tone. “Radio ahead to make sure no one stops us. This is a priority.”
“Yes, ma’am” the guard replies instantly, reaching for his radio.
Instead, the group descends to the basement. There, “Jane” guides them through the various rooms, to an open tunnel entrance.
“This way” she whispers, pointing down the tunnel.
Minutes later, they step through an iron gate into fresh air. Barrett takes a deep breath. “It’s so nice to be outside again.”
“I bet” Reaves agrees, squeezing his shoulder gently.
Barrett looks down at the rough, masculine hand touching him. “Yeah…let’s postpone the physical affection until after you take that off.”
The disguised Chloe laughs in a deep baritone. “Fair enough!”
They walk through the woods until they reach an empty stretch of road. Seconds later, a black van careens around the corner and screeches to a halt next to them. The side door flies open and a slender redheaded girl pokes her head out.
“Fancy meeting you here” she chuckles, inviting them inside.
They quickly climb in, and the door slams behind them. The driver hits the accelerator, and the van takes off down the road.
“Jane” looks over at her two companions and smiles wickedly. “Nice job, guys. Drinks are on Barrett tonight?”
He laughs. “I hardly think so. I was knocked out, put in a cell, then chained to a table for like six hours.”’
“Reaves” laughs in return. “Yeah, and I had to spend the day dressed up as this asshole, hanging out with his asshole friends, while one of them dressed up as a perfect copy of me.”
“Good point” Barrett comments. “It sounds like you had the easy job, Liam.”
“Jane” rolls her eyes. “It definitely wasn’t easy. I had to play the bossy bitch in charge and snag the hash files for Chloe from the secure room.”
“Whatever. Sounds easy to me” the disguised Chloe replies with a chuckle.
“So everything went exactly according to plan?” Barrett asks the two across from him.
“Pretty much” “Reaves” answers. “You were right, they were so happy to have captured you and were too busy patting themselves on the back. Liam and I were able to stroll right in. He did a quick data drive handoff to me while that idiot Mason was putting on my face.”
“Jane” smiles. “I thought that was pretty slick. And you were right, Chloe. He was definitely enjoying the disguise a little too much. When I did the data drive handoff and he was about to put on the mask, it looked like he was about to blow his load.”
“Ew, Liam!” Chloe replies with a shudder.
Barrett looks at “Reaves” sitting across from him in the van. “All right, seriously, can you at least take the mask off now?” He asks.
“What’s the matter, bro? You don’t like like me like this?” the imposter teases, stroking his bearded face.
“Not so much” Barrett replies.
“Fine…” the fake man says. “He” unzips his dark, military-style jacket, revealing a grey t-shirt covering a muscular chest. He slips his fingers into the shirt’s neckline, and scratches. A flap of skin soon peels away from just underneath his collarbone, and his hands quickly slide underneath.
Barrett watches as the man’s face slowly distorts as the fingers work their way underneath the fake skin. His lips flop loosely, and finally his eye sockets snap away as the rubbery mask springs free.
Chloe’s smiling face is revealed as she hefts the mask onto her lap. She rips the voice strip from her neck and tosses it onto the floor of the van. After tugging the skull cap from her head, her wavy brown hair falls down to her right shoulder.
“There’s my girl” Barrett says with a smile. He leans across the aisle and gives her a kiss, which she passionately returns. The crumpled mask of Reaves’ face lies smashed between their bodies.
“Oh, get a room, you two” Jane gibes with a smirk.
They break their kiss and Chloe looks over at her. “Isn’t it about time you took that thing off, too?” She asks jokingly.
The older woman strokes her own face. “Nah, I think I’ll keep her on for a little while longer. The guys will get a kick out of it. I have a surprise planned.”
Chloe and Barrett both roll their eyes. Chloe lifts her discarded mask up in her hands, and it’s mouth gapes widely. She strokes the thick facial hair covering its cheeks and jaw, turns to her boyfriend and asks “So, how would you feel about growing a beard?”
“Very funny!” he retorts with a laugh.
The van speeds off down the road.
ONE HOUR LATER
Barrett and Chloe are in their small loft space overlooking the interior of the large industrial warehouse. Looking totally incongruous with a muscular male body, she begins to strip off the tactical-looking attire.
Barrett sets a backpack full of gear down next to their spartan desk and peers through the curtain out into the main area.
Het lets out a chuckle. “Liam wasn’t kidding. He’s putting on quite a show down there.”
He looks down at “Jane”, now wearing what looks like a skimpy “witch” costume one might find at an adult entertainment store. The outfit consists of tattered black stockings, a g-string thong, a lacy black corset, and a classic witch’s hat. “Her” pale ass jiggles provocatively, and one of her breasts has sprung free of the costume’s bra and is lewdly exposed to the small crowd.
“Look at me, I’m Jane the witch!” The fake woman shrills. She tugs at the back of her head and her long, dirty blonde hair falls down to her shoulders. “Five dollars to slap my ass, ten to squeeze my tits!”
She grabs her own chest lewdly and the small crowd roars with laughter.
“Jane looks pretty good for her age” Barrett comments, closing the curtain.
Now wearing only a pair of briefs over her manly prosthetic body, Chloe replies “Oh no, what is he doing? Do you know how I would feel if Mason was parading me around like that?”
Barrett smiles and shrugs. “Eh, it’s Jane. She seemed terrible.”
Chloe rolls her eyes, then tugs the briefs down her thighs. A modest-sized manhood springs free, and Barrett looks away.
“I really didn’t need to see that” he protests, but he can’t help but grin. “You had to make the suit that detailed?”
“Hey, I don’t love it either!” She replies with a giggle. “We couldn’t know what to expect, so we went with max realism.”
She reaches down and grasps her enlarged, synthetic groin. “You know, if I squeeze in the right way, it even inflates and acts like the real thing…”
“Oh, come on!” Barrett snorts.
She starts to laugh. “Kidding! Well, not about the fact that it works. That’s true. But I’ll take it off now.”
Minutes later, after considerable tugging and stretching, Chloe stands nude next to the bed, holding the hefty, floppy suit in her hands. She tosses it onto the mattress, where it lands with a thump, its bare ass facing the ceiling. She quickly removes the contact lenses and fake teeth.
Then, she rushes over to Barrett and throws her arms around his neck, kissing him passionately. Her breasts press against his chest, and he slides his hands down her bare back.
“Better?” She purrs into his ear.
Barrett couldn’t care less about the sticky adhesive residue coating her face. He was just happy to finally have her out of that elaborate disguise.
“Much better” he replies, kissing her again.
She finally breaks free. “You know, they’re going to come after us even more ruthlessly now” she states, with a worried expression.
He nods. “Yeah, but that’s a problem for another day.”
He takes her hand and leads her to the bed.
