Deep in a chemical factory there was a vat of liquid latex, constantly mixed and kept in a liquid form. A malicious spirit, weak and fragmented and unable to possess a living body, instead found itself drawn to the vat and the liquid content. A few minutes after getting used to its new body, some of the liquid latex escaped the vat over the edge and formed a pool on the ground before slowly making its way towards the door.

Hazel yawned as she checked the clock. It was going on seven o’clock, with most of the factory workers gone for the night and leaving only a few of the researchers inside their labs doing some last minute tests or time-constrained experiments. The chemist was just finishing the last of a titration experiment when there was an unexpected knock on the door. Confused, she walked over to the door to the lab and opened it. “Hello?” She asked.

There was nothing there. She stared blankly at the empty space where the door was before she looked down and screamed, seeing the puddle of black liquid on the ground. It seemed alive as it crawled towards her across the smooth floor. Hazel stumbled backwards, her eyes not believing what she was seeing and tripped in her heels, landing hard on her butt with a yelp. Seeing it still coming towards her, she scrambled backwards until her back contacted one of her work benches and she flinched. Now trapped, the mass of liquid latex seemed to realize that and rose up off of the floor as a menacing wall.

Her mouth opened in a silent scream as the mass engulfed her, surrounding her, wrapping itself around her body. The latex soon formed an outer layer around the woman, skintight allowing her features to be visible but she was completely unable to control her body. Hazel could somehow breathe through the thin layer, but she could not move anything. Hmmmm. The spirit thought as it looked at the new body it now controlled, checking out the arms and legs. It’s a start.

Hazel couldn’t make any sound either, with a mass of latex filling her mouth and forcing her jaw open. It muted all sound, leaving her unable to even cry out for help as the latex around her body began moving, forcing her body to move and walk out of the lab. Turning the corner, there was a janitor mopping the floor with his back to her. The latex bodysuit forced her to walk towards him, and Hazel realized with horror what was about to happen despite being completely unable to stop it or warn the poor man.

She was forced to reach out and touch his shoulder, causing the janitor to turn around and see the black latex-covered outline of a woman behind him. “Holy shit!” He yelped as he jumped in fear.

Then he felt a cold sensation on his shoulder where he was touched and turned to see a mass of black spreading out across his body. He didn’t even have time to scream a second time before he was encased in the liquid latex, standing very still. The spirit took a moment to test out moving two bodies at the same time, having them walk back and forth down the hall and carry objects before being satisfied with the result. With two people under its control, the latex spirit began the subjugation of the factory, finding approximately two dozen people still in the building and taking their bodies over via touch and the use of more of the liquid latex.

By the time morning arrived, there were numerous latex drones positioned around the factory at the entrances, ready to subjugate any of the workers entering the building. The process was carried out over and over, the captured factory workers were unable to stop themselves as they were forced to touch their friends, encasing them in latex and removing their control from their bodies. As the spirit’s drone numbers grew, extras were directed to a warehouse where they were encased in latex cocoons, unable to struggle, scream, or do anything as they lost control of their bodies.

In the factory control booth, the spirit decided to properly inhabit the drone that was once Hazel. She could only watch in silent horror as more and more latex cocoons appeared on the factory floor, each containing one of her coworkers trapped in their own private prison.

It is a start. The spirit spoke in her mind. Soon there will be more, and I will conquer all.

Hazel could only silently scream as she watched all of the cocoons fall away, revealing the faceless, latex covered forms of over a hundred people on the factory floor.

March. The spirit cackled as ranks of its new army robotically walked out of the door towards the factory gate and the town beyond. March to conquer EVERYTHING.
