This was the piece I submitted for the most recent Story Exchange, written for the wonderful TheSamMoose.

The idea to set the story in Edo Period Japan is a departure from my usual style, and certainly introduced some limitations that I hadn't foreseen, but overall I am very pleased with how it turned out.
