The Eremites, a widespread people separated into various groups operating throughout the land of Sumeru with equally different motives. Some functioned as little more than cutthroat mercenaries who would take any job without question while others served to further their own interests, particularly those situated in the vast desert that borders the forested regions of Sumeru’s more populous half. And as might be expected of the more secretive Eremites, their practices were just as bizarre, if not completely divorced from those of the more active groups plying their trade elsewhere.

With the arrival of a modern age however, the land of Sumeru wasn’t quite as ‘closed off’ as it once was. Just like any other nation, foreigners would inevitably cross into the nation to set up their own roots or to simply take in the marvelous sight of the intricate fusion between mighty dunes and humid rainforests…a noble and educational pursuit that would not be enough to shield such individuals from the uncaring dangers that abounds across the untamed wilds of Sumeru’s rainforests and arid desert.

Ruin automatons and voracious fungi were just a few of the more notable threats that could end the travels of a careless individual. But arguably the greatest danger to be found was in none other than other humans. Monsters were predictable and easy to fool. Automatons, even more so for their penchant to patrol and not deviate from their path. But people…people were unknowable. A volatile element that could change at any given time. For they could help someone with a beaming smile just as easily as they could stick a knife in their backs with gleeful abandon…and as Yu Fang would soon discover for himself; trust was something that should not be given so carelessly, especially when it came to dealing with foreigners from another land and culture altogether.

As a traveling merchant based in Liyue peddling his goods wherever he went, it only made sense for Yu Fang to resort to hiring bodyguards. A constantly changing roster that often depended upon who was up for business in whichever nation he happened to be in. In Monstadt, safety was more or less a guarantee as long as one stuck to the roads in and around the capital where the Knights of Favonius often patrolled. With the need to hire some Adventurers’ Guild personnel when the time came to go further and beyond to the neighboring land of Liyue...a constant process that relied on a mix of organizations and routes to ensure Yu Fang’s business remained in tip top condition far into the foreseeable future.

A future that unfortunately, would not come to pass after many repetitions had left the wandering merchant feeble and lax. Remaining none the wiser after returning from Inazuma to set his sights on the next big thing; Sumeru…the forest-desert nation that would become his final destination unbeknownst to the excited man as he moved on from the relative safety of the rainforest village and out into the greater landscape where the Erumites remained his only option when it came to securing safe passage through Sumeru’s cutthroat wilderness, teeming with monsters, wild animals, bandits and so much more…including the so-called bodyguards Yu Fang had by his side the whole way through…

Oblivious to their practices and the fact that the Eremite people were composed of multiple groups both noble and unsavory, the clueless merchant had been quick to accept a seemingly unlikely proposition that involved him paying a cheap sum to gain the services of a ragtag band of mercenaries who had claimed to be a part of the famed Corps of Thirty. The militant arm of Sumeru’s capital responsible for the city’s wellbeing, except the foolish merchant had failed to recognize the obvious lack of green in their uniforms in place of the scarlet red sashes most other Eremites were known to wear.

None the wiser to their true nature, Yu Fang would happily set off on his travels across Sumeru, further cementing the lack of reason he had to be alarmed in the first place as he watched them carry out their duties to the letter. Safeguarding his cart from roadside bandits, hungry beasts looking for a bite and even other Eremites who had sought to buy them out in exchange for their charge. An act that served to solidify his trust in the group who had all but proven their loyalty to him, treating them like he would close friends as his distant treatment of them mellows out into slow banter before reaching a point where he would start to gift them with goods that were supposed to be sold on the market, blissfully ignorant to the fact that they had diverted from the path toward the port side trading hub not even two days into their travels while an equally subtle physical alteration would begin to claim the merchant as beige hide darkens into ashen gray skin tinted with faded cocoa all across his body. A formerly obese figure that begins to accumulate musculature and tone alongside feminine allure as unnecessary mass wastes away, leaving shapely arms and eye catching legs attached to a feminizing torso that arches inward at the back to accentuate the tone of a sturdy stomach and the emergence of budding mounds above that started off a day as simply that before ending off as perky tits by the time night fell on the fifth day, complete with fat, juicy nipples that hardened in arousal as she allowed herself to be derobed of the unfitting clothes that no longer fit her lithe frame. Accepting her companions gift of new garments as they stripped her naked before dolling her up; tying back luscious locks of brunette that had replaced an oily mop of blonde to form braids and buns. Slotting her arms into adorable sleeves. Ensuring bountiful breasts were well and secured. Wrapping a fluttery skirt around child birthing hips that did little to conceal her pretty little pussy from view, loving the sensation of silken panties rubbing into the throbbing gash that had consumed her penis a day before as vivid memories of her new self as a whole are seared into the vulnerable annals of her very being. Closing the night off with a ceremonial blindfold of her own being tied around azure blue eyes to complete her rebirth into the world as her friends lay her down on the cooling desert sands…renewed as an Eremite herself.

The coming of the sixth dawn, the awakening of Khadija signaled the end of Yu Fang’s travels as the newest member of the mercenary band sets to work, her mind buzzing with new beliefs, interests and skills that were in utter contrast to her former profession. A forgotten dream that would never be remembered as the spunky Eremite moves to lay herself down next to a rousing member of the troop, allowing herself to be groped and fondled beneath the shade of bountiful cargo that would serve their tribe greatly once it was processed back home. And with each steaming load shot down her throat or into her tummy and every tongue that reciprocated her songs with a kiss. Khadija’s yearning for battle in an effort to staunch the voices of the desert sands would intensify, preparing herself for the remainder of their travels before she could be reunited with the rest of her family…and to repeat the process all over again once they would inevitably set off to the capital of Sumeru in search of more unsuspecting bounty…
