"M-Mona?! Joker! I-Is anyone there?!"
Screaming into the void did nothing to ascertain her whereabouts when Ann Takamaki, the Panther of the Phantom Thieves, had been separated from the rest of her companions after being sent flying by an energy blast produced from the many tentacles of a seemingly insurmountable Shadow that shrugged off whatever Ann and the others threw at it. And before she knew it, she was here; alone in this vast stretch of empty space. No Phantom Thieves. No Shadows.
Even though the place was devoid of light and dark all around, the crimson sheen of Ann's Phantom Thief outfit remained clear and visible, as did her skin and luscious locks of blonde. It gave off the effect of Ann being a light source of her own, standing out amidst the black void. It made her feel vulnerable, shifting nervous blue eyes from left to right, thinking there might be enemies she couldn't see lurking just out of sight. But besides the subtle huff of her own nervous breaths, there was nothing else she could hear; not even the mechanical clank of the cybernetic monster that had repelled the Phantom Thieves so easily.
"Seriously…why do I have to be the one thats-eep!"
Falling face first after tripping over on her feet midway through hushed complaining, Ann barely manages to catch herself. But she couldn't seem to push herself up on her own two feet when she had lost all feeling from the waist down. As if both her legs had suddenly fallen asleep, leaving Ann in an awkward pose that made her look like she was about to do some push ups. But exercise would be the last thing on Ann's mind as she shifts herself onto her back, rising into a seated position before gasping in disbelief at the sight that awaited her like a sick joke.
Her legs weren't the usual, peach colored ovoid sculpted pillars she remembered. Instead, what greeted her were a set of mechanical constructs with visible gaps and holes in the sleek carbon alloy shell that composed its hide in place of her soft, rosy skin, holding wires, artificial muscle fibers and whirring rotor joints in place instead of flesh and bone. And as her eyes grew wider in fear, so too did the mechanical affliction that had gone unnoticed until her legs finally gave out, consuming her toned navel and cinched in hips, instilling more of that lifeless chill that was beginning to fill her legs…or what was left of them at least.
"No way! This can't…C-Carmen! Dia! Now!"
Summoning forth her Persona out of sheer desperation to halt whatever had caught her unawares, Ann had hoped the use of Dia, as weak as it was, could heal this curse, but to her dismay, it only seemed to slow the transformation, watching as it's speedy crawl becomes a lethargic shamble, creeping up her shoulders before they too give in under her weight, forcing Ann to topple onto her back, limbs splayed out on all four sides, only able to move her neck and squirm, realizing too late that the void itself was the cause; seeping into whatever nook and cranny her artificial shell sported. And even though she was mortified to see a particularly throbbing tentacle pulsing between her unmoving legs, Ann could not feel the digital tendril pumping its corrupting essence into her non-existent womb, long since replaced by a battery unit with her vaginal walls similarly transformed into a simple rubber tube connected to a cylindrical opening that had once been a tightly sealed labia.
"Goddamnit! Let go of me! T-Turn me back you disgusting freak!"
By now, the imperiled Phantom Thief knew the culprit had to the Shadow that shot them all with its attack. Worrying not just for herself but for her friends as well, filling her mind with thoughts that weren't helping her to stay calm and collected, especially when her arms had likewise been consumed by the artificial growth, leaving them as skeletal manipulators bereft of the supple curvature her old organic self sported, covered in only the bare minimum of the sturdy, flexible metal especially prominent around the middle of an hourglass figure her mechanical form still retained.
Cursing her fate while looking around in panic as more tendrils emerge to slot themselves into the gaps of shoulder joints, Ann's heart skips a beat once her ears pick up the sound of Joker's cool voice coming from somewhere she could not see, but it wasn't just him, she could hear Morgana, Ryuji, her companions were coming! She was saved!
But before Ann could open her mouth to scream for help, a sudden stiffness in her throat causes nothing but a comical squeak to escape her open mouth. Again, and this time, nothing came out…in fact, nothing went back in either. No matter how much she willed herself, her body refused to take in any air, because at this point, her lungs had been claimed by the digital reformation, leaving them as nothing more than a speaker system connected to an endoskeletal framework her entire body now depended upon for everything from articulation to the fulfillment of whatever her new charge would task her with.
'This can't be3hr?! Mee1i mii1nd! Th0u8ht#! CanT Th17k…wh3t6…no0000001001010-KZKT!]
With a sickening pop, the tendril that had stealthily inserted itself into the steel rimmed port at the back of Ann's head frees itself with the completion of its task, leaving the defeated Phantom Thief lying still with a rhythmic pulse of ghostly blue light emanating from stiff eyes wide in shock, open mouth frozen in a scream of pain, the last cry of a snuffed light that would never be heard. Just in time for the void she had been imprisoned within to fade away, leaving the mechanized Panther lying on the cold floor in a neon lit alleyway within what looked to be a dark, dystopian rendition of a futuristic Tokyo.
And as the silhouettes of her fellow Phantom Thieves turn the corner just in time to witness their doomed friend rise to her feet like a stunted puppet, brushing off the beret that manifests itself over her head alongside a nifty gadgets that plugs into her cranium, installing new loyalties and directives to populate the android's data core, purged of everything that had to do with the Japanese highschooler she once was. Instead, ANAMAK-1 knew only one thing; that she was police chief for the Master's security force and that her first task was to apprehend the remaining Phantom Thieves that had escaped him. Painting the goofy looking cat as a priority target in fear that he might somehow be able to tear a hole for his fellow outlaws to escape the Master's Palace, the newly transformed machine moves to confront her former friends, producing an electrified whip from a holster contained in her multipurpose thigh casing while taunting them with a sentence vocalized by a scratchy bastardization of Ann’s peppy voice that had the remaining Phantom Thieves gritting their teeth in uncertain fear;
[In the name of the Law, I order you to surrender your weapons and turn yourselves in! If you do…I can vouch for your good behavior when the Master hands out your new assignments!]
She could see the horror and disgust clear in their eyes, lodging a report against the blonde haired ones irate gaze as they scanned her powerful body. Knowing her shell bore the visage of their comrade had her calculated chances surging to an impressive 96%, but ANAMAK-I couldn’t wait for the chance to return to her Masters side where he would finally complete her transformation into his loyal police chief. She didn’t need this pretty little face, why would she after all? A cold, featureless faceplate was leagues better and more in line with her job. And once her bounty was captured, she would ensure they all became model citizens just like her…
