Ayano was the sole daughter of a family boasting a prestigious lineup of famous Miko responsible for purging Japan of a variety of twisted spirits and wicked demons. And just like her forebears, Ayano was in training to become the next head of the family, expected to take up her mother's duties in protecting the people of Japan from those who dwelled in the dark.

Unbeknownst to her however, a Demon once thought to have been slain and sealed away by her mother has, in actuality, taken Ayano as it's newest vessel. Imparting what little of itself to the naive little girl wandering outside in the dead of night despite warnings not to do so.

And now as she reaches the ripe, young age of 21, the demon begins the process of fusing itself with her naive soul, taking its revenge while acquiring a powerful vessel capable of resisting the arts and magic those accursed Miko had burned her previous form away with, wasting no time in restarting the family that had been denied to it all those years ago...
