Moving swiftly through the crowded convention center, Aiko swept her gaze over the many booths that filled the massive hall, neon pink drills bobbing left and right with her gaze.

A geek of sorts, the young woman jumped at any opportunity to visit a convention, be they small and niche or big and famous, the young woman had never been disappointed with what they all had to offer. But unlike other conventions Aiko had attended, this one seemed to radiate a strange energy, drawing in more patrons than usual for such a secluded event.

An energy that would see Aiko through a myriad fates, for better or worse…

Wandering around the maze of booths, the distraught congoer mutters to herself under her breath, unsure of which booth she wanted to see with the added weight of knowing she might not have the time to see everything making it even harder to decide. For each colorful booth she passed up, an even more interesting one would cross her path.

“This is so frustrating!”

Stomping her boots in frustration, Aiko would find her timely pause to be a stroke of luck as a stray bolt of electricity zooms by, stunning the spunky girl while charring the wooden standee to her right as panicked shouts of ‘look out!’ finally reached her ears, toppling over onto her rear in sheer surprise.

“I-I’m so sorry! Are you alright? No burns or anything?”

“Y-Yeah i’m fine…what the heck even was that?”

Accepting the man’s outstretched arms, Aiko rises to her feet to face the apologetic man dressed like a typical scientist from any science fiction media, complete with a pristine lab coat and weird gadgets jutting out of his pockets.

“It’s just…my latest failure…I just can’t seem to get the formula right!”

Gazing past the man’s shoulders, Aiko eyes up the steaming device that presumably had sent the giant bolt of electricity her way. Looking past all the extensive modifications, Aiko could easily guess what the man had used as a basis for the machine.

“Say…is that a hair dryer machine? I think I could take a look at the thing if you need help? I run a salon myself so-”

“Really?! T-That’s great! O-Over here then please!”

Sighing at not being given the chance to finish, Aiko trots slowly over to join the man as he wheels the heavy device backstage into what looked like a maintenance room straight out of a movie set. Although from her earlier experience, Aiko knew better than to underestimate the steaming machinery.

“N-Nice setup you’ve got going here…what’s your booth about? Oh and I'm Aiko!”

“Ah, apologies, The name’s Spencer, and well…the booth was supposed to advertise my latest invention that’s meant to give anyone a lovely head of hair to flaunt…and well…you know the rest…tell you what, I’ll be over here getting the thing recalibrated, you can take a look at the machine itself while I set it up!”

Moving over to examine the smoking machine while Spencer scurries off to the back of the room to work on a terminal, Aiko looks over the heavily modified machine, wondering where to even begin as she tries to find a panel to access the interior, only to find herself being shocked hard by static runoff while fiddling with the machine.

“Ow! That hurt…”

Withdrawing her hand, Aiko doesn't realize the metallic sheen beginning to crawl up the tips of her fingers, bracing herself against the machine for another crack at it as the strange material crawls further up her arm, slowly transforming her flesh into hardened titanium alloy, replacing flesh and bone with wiring and circuitry as the joint’s between her limbs reform into ball joints akin to a mannequin or action figure.

“Oh? I think I’ve got something Spencer!”

Withdrawing her free arm from the machine while apparently oblivious to the way her voice had taken on a monotone grating, Aiko remains blissfully unaware even as the growth begins to consume her clothes, leaving behind smooth pink metal shaped into a perky set of breasts as her frilly dress vanishes entirely, leaving her nubile young body exposed as the changes afflicting her spreads to her groin, and soon, down to her legs, leaving a smooth carapace where her virgin vagina should’ve been and large flexible ball joints connecting artificial fibers to violet colored limbs just as fake as her arms were. Her fashionable boots now permanently fused to her feet as stabilizer jets.

By the time Aiko had noticed the arm she pulled out glistening like a slab of metal, it was too late to even react as she felt a brief wave of electricity run over her face, suddenly unable to comprehend the slightest emotion as her face stiffens into a blank stare, the tickle of her hair vanishing entirely as her well maintained twin tailed drills mesh into a singular masses, looking more like giant plastic decorations as her head fuses with the helmet like carapace that had subsumed her lovely head of hair. All the while her vision filled with static as her camera’s adjusted to the UI overlay currently displayed in her vision.

To finish off the changes, empty monitors across Aiko’s robotic form beep to life, a neon pink heart icon flaring to life, indicating her functions running at full capacity. With the loss of her human body and her mind reduced to a simple computer waiting for commands, Aiko was no longer the fun, easy going owner of a salon. Unable to comprehend emotions as she scrolled through her own memories lifelessly.

“Aiko? Is something wrong? I'm getting a massive reading from the nano-oh no, Aiko?!”

Turning around at the mention of her name, the newly created android turns to face the man her databanks registered simply as : MASTER, her emotive subroutines kicking in as she hopped from foot to foot, putting on a nauseatingly cutesy act for Spencer, who recognized the animation he had programmed into the A.I currently residing in the broken machine.

“It’s so great to see you master! AIKO.exe running at 100% functionality! What would you like me to do? Cleaning? Cooking? I’ve already repaired the machine as requested!”

“U-uh sure thing…tell you what Aiko…could you be a dear and advertise the booth for me? I’ll just be back there working…”

“Sure thing Master!”

Watching the hyperactive android dash out the door, Spencer runs a hand over his face as he slinks back over to the console, running error logs and formulating a fresh batch of nanobots to hopefully find a way to reverse whatever it was that had changed Aiko into his enthusiastic helper bot.

By the time the sun began to set as closing hour neared, Spencer would find himself having to deal with more than one confused customer in addition to an irate Aiko after finally reversing what had been done to them all…
