In a far off corner in the land of the rising sun, far off from any hint of civilization with abandoned bus stops and derelict roads reclaimed by mother nature's ever encroaching grasp, a homely little settlement that had existed undisturbed since the time of World War II sits nestled between forested hills in a sunken valley filled with mist that would worsen into a thick blanket of fog whenever it rained. But with a noticeable lack of cars or fast moving forms of transport, an accident was a once in a blue moon occasion.

With the citizens mostly comprised of elderly and middle aged adults, the outskirts of the settlement would soon fall into disrepair once its population began to dwindle as the young left for better prospects out in the open world beyond the mountains. Without the manpower and strength to repair, maintain and replace key infrastructure; ramshackle huts and even roads would fall into disrepair. It was clear that whatever glory the town had seen before long ago in the past had long since died out with its storied history coming to a close sooner or later…

But in this forgotten place, there remained one young man who had no plans to leave, with a strong attachment to the misty town he'd been born in unlike the others he once knew as childhood friends and classmates.

Influenced by the tales his grandmother had parted to him before her passing that left him truly alone, Daisuke Watari had been dutifully tending to the lone shrine that had once been part of a network of buildings all made with the sole intent of worship…but whatever deity it was dedicated to was a memory long forgotten to even his wise elders. The only thing they knew for sure, was that continued devotion was guaranteed to one day grant the favor of the divine being that had once blessed the valley with bountiful crops and a teeming forest from which to live off of.

"It's why we've fallen onto hard times…with the knowledge of our forefathers all but lost to the ravages of time, the people have forgotten who it was that allowed us to live in solace for so long without disturbance…but maybe it's all just ridiculous kerfuffle and the town really is just reaching the end…"

But Daisuke didn't think for a second that his grandmother's words were a tall tale. Taking on the duty of caretaker all the way into the current day where he was already a fine young man at the ripe age of 26, doing his best to ensure the last standing shrine that he could access did not fall into the same state of total loss the other three had long since crumbled into before he was even a babe in his mother's arms. Only able to view the derelict ruins with binoculars, sighing at the strangely beautiful sight of the man made structures covered in overgrown foliage and tall imposing trees. He’d sometimes spend the night camping out near the shrine atop a hill offering a clear view of the town below with the towering mountains on both sides., surrounded by chirping insects and curious foxes that would venture out from the forest to join the lone human by a cozy fireplace.

And it wasn't as if he had parents back home to return to every night once he was done tending to the fields, cleaning up the shrine and then coming on back to cook himself a hearty meal at a lonely dinner table. It was a monotonous routine that sometimes left him feeling desolate inside, only snapping back to sanity with the words of his grandmother ringing in his head. Shaking off the dark thoughts of abandoning the mist filled valley he had come to call home, with the hopes of one day being able to meet the enigmatic deity that had once blessed his home during better times in a bygone era…

Stabbing the rake into the ground and leaning heavily into the makeshift wooden handle that had most definitely seen better days, Daisuke sighs as he inspects his work with a keen eye, making sure no stray leaf was left lying on the cracked stone pavement that led down the middle of the shrine, grunting as he lifts the heavy cleaning tool over his shoulder, moving on to inspect the structure and integrity of the wood, making sure mold, termites and other pests didn’t take to destroying the fragile support pillars holding the whole thing together. A collapse was the last thing he wanted to have happen under his watch.

With how thorough the man usually was with his checks, today was no different from any other day; with the sturdy old wood still going strong. Leaving Daisuke satisfied as he rises to his feet with a creak in his legs.

"Lucky…I'm not old yet but having to fix and replace these is doing numbers on my back…"

'Then how would you like it if those numbers were removed?'

Spinning his head around sharply at the sound of the ethereal voice ringing faintly in his ears, Daisuke glances around the mossy shrine, looking for the source in a mix of skepticism, fear and excitement. Was his isolated mind playing tricks on him, or could this finally be the moment he was waiting for almost his entire life?

Putting down the rake, Daisuke slowly moves toward the central building with mild caution, carefully choosing his words in a soft spoken reply to the unseen voice.

"H-Hi? Is anyone there?"

Moving with a little hesitation in his step now, the weary man sighs after a few seconds pass with no response, stopping just short of the steps leading up and into the building.

"Maybe I really am losing it up here…"

'No you're not silly…just a little bit more…'

There it was again, clearer this time with the distinct alto of a woman's voice. Either he really was going mad or the deity had finally decided to return to the physical realm once more. Not missing a beat, Daisuke hurries up the stairs while being careful not to step on the brittle portions of the wooden planks that made up the floor. He couldn't be too reckless after all.

Sliding open the tattered and worn doors with some difficulty, Daisuke steps into the central chamber of the lone building that stood in the middle of the shrine, eyeing up the small statue of the nameless deity he had maintained for so many years now atop an altar…an altar which he would usually kneel before and pray after the end of every day cleaning up the place.

He didn't need the voice to come to him again to know what to do next, taking to his knees before clasping both hands tightly together in earnest prayer, hoping it wasn't just his ailing mind that was playing a cruel joke on him.

But as the air around Daisuke begins to pick up speed until a visible fount of rippling air had manifested around the altar, the man knew this was real as pale wisps of faint yellow light seeps out from the statue, coalescing into a glowing orb of brilliant gold before collapsing in on itself, shrinking into a small dot before expanding rapidly, healing the rotted wood wherever it touched and cleansing the structure of any internal failings until the shrine around the bewildered man looked as good as new, with saturated oak beneath his feet and the musty scent of old furniture in the air all but gone.

Planting his head into the ground with the descent of an unnaturally beautiful maiden cloaked in what looked to be a traditional bridal kimono with a flurry of fox tails floating serenely behind her shapely figure. Behind which an array of lights formed into a mesmerizing aureole as a display of her divinity.

With the subtle tap of her bare feet against the floor, Daisuke sucks in a breath as unbelievably soft fingers grasp ahold of his chin, gently lifting his head, and then eventually his entire body up to stand before her, gracing him with a view of her gorgeous visage atop which sat an equally fluffy pair of ears and the ample bosom she displayed so willingly, upon which a sign was engraved. It was the same sign his grandmother had shown him in her sketches back then!

"You're…real? I'm not just dreaming am I?"

Pinching his cheek playfully, the deity smiles down at him with a motherly aura to her gentle eyes. Reassuring Daisuke that this was indeed reality for the second time now.

"As real as the day I fell asleep…but alas, there's much to be done around here isn't there?"

Glancing around the shrine with a worried look on her face, Daisuke could see what she meant when the aura that had healed the shrine earlier only managed to reach as far as the entrance.

Releasing Daisuke from her embrace, the deity begins to walk toward the exit, but after a few short steps, Daisuke was beginning to notice her tails curl uncomfortably inward with her slender legs trembling, as if each step forward was a struggle in and of itself.

Thinking fast, Daisuke swoops in just in time to catch a hold of the deity when she inevitably crumpled to the floor in an exhausted heap, keeping her aloft with her aureole beginning to flicker, threatening to fade away if she tried to move forward and returning to full strength when her human helper hauls her back toward the statue.

"T-Thank you Daisuke…it seems my power hasn't fully returned to me…"

"D-Don't mention it! It’s the least I can do…but…does this mean you can't leave the shrine?”

With her tails drooping down around her, the deity sighs as she turns to face him with an apathetic smile of defeat.

"I-It's as you say…I don't even have the power left to roam outside the bounds of my domain…time has done away with my following it seems, coupled with the destruction of the other shrines…after all you’ve done to keep the last remnants of myself standing…pathetic isn’t it?”

“No it isn’t! I mean…you’ve held on for so long even when you knew the people you’ve helped prosper forgot about you…that isn't pathetic at all in my eyes! You can’t quit now, t-there’s got to be something I can do to help…I-I’m sure the old timers still down in the valley would love to as well!”

The two remain staring at each other for a moment; the deity in mute surprise and Daisuke in awe at the words he'd voted onto a divine being. Broken once the deity begins to break into a fit of laughter with the sadness creasing her brows fading slightly.

"As expected of the one maintaining my humble abode with such devotion…you Daisuke, are certainly quite peculiar…were it not for your grandmother's tales, I'd expect you would have long left for better ventures…"

"W-Well…I love this place as much as Gran…and back then even she had her doubts about the tales considering the people have forgotten your name…miss?"

"Hiru…just Hiru will do…a short and simple name I hope won't be too hard to remember?"

Chuckling before raising a hand towards the fox spirit, Daisuke shakes Hiru's hand, blessed by the momentous occasion before him.

"So…what can I do to help Lady Hiru?"

"I told you; Hiru will do…as for future plans…there remains only one way for me to return my blessings upon the land…I will need a vessel to serve as my hands and feet; to spread my blessings and do my bidding for the people…someone like you Daisuke."

Freezing up in Hiru's arms as she suddenly moves forward and begins to cuddle up to him with her tails rising up to wrap around them, the deity senses the tension in the man's body before gazing down at him with his face pressed up into her bosom. Giggling at the sight of his furiously blushing face.

"Do you trust me?"

Calming down a little, Daisuke sighs before nodding his head. With nothing to return to and his deity in critical need of aid, who was he to turn her down?

Shutting his eyes, Hiru and Daisuke vanish from sight beneath a warm cocoon composed of the deity's fluffy appendages. Twitching ever since slightly as a golden light eventually begins to emanate and seep through the cracks in the ball.

'Don't fight it Daisuke…let my energies wash over you…feel its warmth and think of it as your own…'

Only a few seconds had passed since Hiru had encased him in her entirety, but already it was beginning to feel like a sweltering hot summer day, groaning in discomfort as sweat begins to pour forth from the pores of his prickling skin, but he had heard Hiru's words, relaxing as best he could and letting that heat wrap him up in its encompassing grasp.

And sure enough, something was beginning to happen to the lone human in the arms of his deity; with his sweaty patched up clothes burning up into ash, leaving him as naked as a babe with the hair across his body following suit, leaving his skin pristine as the calluses on his hands and feet heal.

‘That’s the way my child…feel and accept me…and sure enough, it will feel just right…’

The warm motherly voice of Hiru ringing in Daisuke’s ears only serves to coax the young man into slumber, curling up in her embrace as his well built frame begins to ebb and flow like the surface of a disturbed pond; rippling flesh taking on new lithe configurations beneath soft and tender skin, sleeping soundly through it all even as his weathered face begins to crack and snap with his gaunt cheeks filling with plump fat, adding to the slant eyes cleared of their deep eyebags as a chiseled jawline gives way to a shapely chin, atop which sits a pair of perfectly kissable lips colored a natural shade of strawberry pink.

Grunting in an effeminate tone with his adam’s apple beginning to recede beneath a far more slender neckline, Daisuke shifts in his sleep to accommodate for the loss in most of his muscle mass and height, nibbling on Hiru’s exposed teats like a starving child as the deity grunts in affection, cuddling Daisuke’s smaller frame as a pair of fox’s ears begin to peer through the rapidly lengthening locks of auburn hair taking root from his once oily head of raven black spikes, pouring further down the man’s arching back until the individual strands of silk had grown long enough to tickle a shapely rump that had inflated from his once blocky behind, with Hiru giving it a hearty squeeze, smiling at the girly moan leaking through her soon-to-be child’s lips.

‘Almost there…’

By now, Daisuke was barely recognizable anymore; sporting a curvaceous physique that was only becoming more and more filled in with each passing second, with soft tender flesh where hardened muscle once was and a pair of animal ears of his own, Daisuke could no longer be called a human in form anymore…much less a man considering the erotic sight of his chest thrusting forward into a voluminous pair of milky teats that were just as big and firm as her mother’s were. Tipped with hardened pink nipples that looked painfully in need of attention, licking her lips as she does so, bending her flexible neck forward to nibble on her daughter’s breasts as the former man cries out in a voice that sounded nothing like the deep baritone of the young man that had entered the shrine an ordinary human a few minutes ago.

Parting lips from Daisuke’s mammaries with a wet pop and a splat of semi transparent nectar that was her milk, Hiru smiles as her tails recede back behind her, unraveling the cocoon to reveal a buxom babe panting in exhaustion where Daisuke once laid with a furious blush on her sweat slick face and a look that suggested she was feeling highly aroused, noting the damp trickle of precum running down her shapely thighs from a puckered slit between her legs where a proud manhood once stood, now nothing more than a twitching clitoris beneath a toned tummy that should’ve been lined with abs, with enticing layers of fat replacing them in their entirety.

Gone was the devout young man. With a nubile young lady sleeping soundly in his place sporting vulpine features just like the older lady nestling her head gently in her bosom, stroking a hand through her silky mane with a similar getup materializing over the girl’s nude body to provide her some level of decency despite how much cleavage it showed off with her nipples barely being covered by the flimsy flaps of the miko dress now covering Daisuke’s very female body, finishing off the transformation as Hiru ties up her daughter’s hair into lengthy twintails, smiling warmly at the sight of her crest manifesting atop her tits; a sign that she was now truly of her kind with her gentle eyes fluttering open to reveal cornflower blue pearls.

But Daisuke wouldn’t be a very fitting name for a beauty such as her now would it?

“There we go~ Not so bad now is it dear? It’s time to wake up my child…”

“Mmmm~ Did I…fall asleep? How long was I…”

Trailing off into silence after realizing what the immense weights on her chest was and at the sound of her own lovely voice, Rina’s gaze falls over her own body, poking curiously at her breasts and recoiling with a sharp squeak before inspecting her wondrous nails, marveling at how clean and sharp they now were, prodding at her smooth palms free of the calcified lumps she had grown used to seeing.

“I…I’m a…even my voice…I’m…”

“Indeed~ You’re one of my daughter’s now~ Oh this is so wonderful!”

“B-But Lady H-Hiru! I thought…I’d be something like a messenger! N-Not a g-girl! Much less your d-daughter!”

Giggling, Hiru swoops in to coddle Rina, keeping her close until her tense shoulders droop back down with her wiggling ears calming into a twitching pair of furry cones. She could tell she was loving it despite her outward protests.

“Come now~ Being a girl isn’t all that bad..and besides, I could sense your previous form failing…ever since I laid eyes on you through my dream filled slumber, the backbreaking work you put in ensuring the last vestiges of my once magnificent domain stood through the test of time…surely this is a reward in and of itself! But it’s best not to think of it that way…”

Leaning in closer to land a gentle peck on Rina’s cheek, Hiru tightens her hug around Rina, silencing her before she can protest further..

“I know it might not be my place to say this…but I swear, my love for you will be unlike any you’ve felt before in your short life as a human…much more than your former parents could ever hope to give upon you like any respectable one should at least…you can rest well in that regard my daughter…my Rina…”

“L-Lady Hiru…I don’t know what to-kya?!-w-what are you doing?!”

“What did I just tell you earlier? ‘Just Hiru is fine’! Naughty girl!”

Tugging hard on her ears, Hiru admonishes her daughter for being too formal with her, ignoring her yelps and cries as she drags her off into the back for some quality family time together. They had a busy day ahead of them to lay out the groundwork for the revival of the valley, and Rina needed to be prepared for it.

After that day, Daisuke, now taking on her new identity as the daughter of the shrine deity; Rina, had settled nicely into new role in life, moving on from handyman work to spiritual training with her mother, learning to channel her own magic until it was hers and hers alone, spreading the rejuvenating aura her mother could no longer power with her newfound strength to revitalize the land surrounding the shrine before eventually, continuing her work down into the misty valley below.

The remaining residents of the town could not believe their eyes when they awoke the next day a few weeks after Daisuke’s disappearance to find the crops already in full bloom, ready for harvest and the once muddied streams purified. Exiting their houses in hushed excitement with some already in full blown prayer for the revival of their guardian. Yelling in confidence that they were right all this time.

But what came walking slowly down the streets would silence them all as they watched a twin tailed shrine maiden with her eyes shut in silent prayer make her way through the town, radiating a golden aura that drew their eyes as the ground beneath her feet seemed to heal in her wake; shutting of potholes, repairing worn down signs and growing vegetation where polluted patches of mud once lay.

It was all they needed to know for sure that their deity had returned. Even if they didn’t know that the otherworldly woman with a pair of fox ears atop her head was simply her protege…but in time, Rina would fill in the roll of deity as well as her mother once did; going around the valley conversing with the common folk, ensuring the stupefying mist that kept them all safe and secluded remained up and running while ensuring the townsfolk prospered…which they would certainly do so under her watch with people once more resuming visits to the shrine to pay their respects, feeding their devotion to Hiru who was still unable to step outside the boundaries of the shrine.

But as the years began to fly by and the town prospered once more with a new generation of children being born, Rina, now a mature confident fox spirit much like her mother, would eventually come upon a young human man, probably no older than her previous self, tending to an injured fox in the wild…in actuality Rina in disguise who had been practicing her magic. Catching her attention from how gentle and kind his heart was as she began following him around the town. He didn’t need to tend to her considering how she could simply regenerate, but the light in his soul was what made her intrigued.

Not long after rumors had begun to spread of Hatsu’s ‘blessing’ after the other townsfolk noticed their deity carefully eyeing him up day after day, Hatsu had gone up the mountain to visit the shrine, asking for an audience with Rina to confide in her. And Rina, likewise, had been encouraged to accept after she had come to her mother for advice, asking what it was she felt in her chest whenever she looked at him, with promises that all would be made clear once she sat down to have a chat with him despite the sly look in Hiru’s eyes as she said the words.

And sure enough, during the awkward conversation between man and fox spirit, Rina’s top would come undone as an invisible hand peels the loose clasps of her miko attire off her bosom, letting her tremendous bosom roll free as they jiggled in the air, a furious blush on Rina’s flabbergasted face as she stares down at her shamelessly erect nipples.

And with a careful trip of the leg as Hatsu rushed to Rina’s aid, Hiru smiled at the events she had orchestrated with Hatsu now lying atop her half naked daughter…noting the lustful fire building in the girl’s hazy eyes.

After working so hard to bring the shrine back to working order and building the trust between her and the people back up again, Rina most certainly deserved a break…

Musing to herself about whether she’d be getting grandsons or daughters, the excited fox lady turns off her magical screen to the main room just before Rina’s slobbering lips come crashing down atop Hatsu’s more than eager mahood…
