It was another warm sunny afternoon in the land of Monstadt; grassland stretching as far as the eye can see with derelict structures and ruins dotting the landscape contrasted with the titular town of Monstadt, bustling with life. Within these ancient ruins lay forgotten wonders hidden from prying eyes, waiting for capable souls to venture forth and uncover their repository of ancient secrets by delving deep into said ruins lurking with monsters and powerful Ruin Guard automatons.

One such soul was Sucrose, an alchemist who’d devoted her life to the study of altering existing forms of life through the use of alchemy, in the hopes of spreading variety and in turn; ‘life’ throughout the world. One could argue that this line of work was potentially deadly, but Sucrose’s work had borne fruit that would prove very useful for certain businesses, such as managing to increase the output of nectar produced by Sweet Flowers through the use of a special potion she’d developed. But thing like these were small bumps on the road to her true goal that remained hidden to others as she continued to endeavor towards the accomplishment of her dream.

To that end, Sucrose had been scouring these ancient ruins in search of anything that could help with her research. Her mentor; Albedo, was rarely around her so she was on her own most of the time. And her path of research differed vastly from that of Albedo’s; Whereas Albedo focused on the creation of new life. Sucrose sought to alter and modify existing forms of life. Unbeknownst to Sucrose, she would soon make a discovery that would change her life forever, for better or worse, no one could say.

While ruin diving, Sucrose had come across an extravagant chamber of sorts gilded in the same faded gold material she’d seen numerous times while venturing across Monstadt’s various places of interest and in other ruins, but never before had she come across one so well kept. Looking across the chamber, Sucrose catches sight of a mechanical pillar with similar etchings and bits that looked like those belonging to the mindless Ruin Guard’s that would patrol places like these endlessly until someone took them out or they ran out of power.

Deciding to play it cautious, she spun on her heels to back out of the chamber, but before she could step foot outside however, a large pile of debris would collapse from the ceiling, forcing her to sidestep back into the chamber to avoid being crushed. Looking past the clouds of dust, Sucrose’s eyes widen in shock as she sees pieces of the rubble float together, forming together into spiders, squids, weird eel-like creatures stuck to the ground and even a large cube like structure she’d seen before in the form of the nigh invulnerable Elemental Hypostases’. She’d never laid eyes on automatons such as these before!

Not sure what to expect, Sucrose does her best to dodge the various lasers, traps and missiles lobbed by the automatons until she can no longer keep up, in her distractions at trying to locate an exit, Sucrose is caught by one of the eel-like automatons, opening up into a petal with a blowing vortex in its core. As the core grabs hold of Sucrose with a burning fire, it spits her out with an overwhelming force, launching her towards the strange pillar in the centre of the room as its structure fades away to reveal a blue portal similar to those that served as entrances to Domains and other places of immeasurable danger. Not having the strength to continue fighting especially after having been hit by that burning toss, Sucrose can only think regretfully about not having been able to accomplish her goal or at least see her mentor and friends one last time as her limp form is sent flying through the portal. The various automatons fall limp once more, disassembling and powering down as their job is done, sending the chamber into eerie silence once more.

Sucrose felt numbness coating her entire form...she could barely turn her head to look around the complete darkness she now found herself in. Or at least, she was sure she had her eyes open? She could barely see her own chest in front of her from how dark the place was. Groggily trying to stand to her feet, Sucrose would fumble around before knocking her head against something hard as she stumbled backwards onto her butt, rubbing her sore head, she froze as she felt smooth skin instead of her usual soft fluffy head of hair, was she bald?

Panic rushing through her, renewed energy surges through her as she gets up off the floor, her unusually tall and slender form giving her trouble as her short, slender form she’d grown so used to was now replaced with that of a mature woman and all it entailed; wide hips, long slender limbs, a sexy curved back and a pert set of modestly sized breasts, their heavy weights a new feeling for Sucrose who had always been a flat chested girl.

Feeling around with her new limbs, Sucrose realised she was wearing something new with a design that she'd never seen before, a form fitting pale white outfit with a short coattail lined with deep blue accents to contrast a grey-black undersuit; it was matte yet had the elasticity of rubber and it seemed to be stretching to constantly fit without losing its grip over her body. Sucrose stared for a brief moment at her tender arms wrapped in the foreign material, as she returned to rubbing the bony crest atop her head, coming to a realization she was no longer herself anymore, much less human, unaware of the light blue skin she now sported.

Eventually though, Sucrose finds herself entering a state of zen despite her previous panic as thoughts about finding a way back home, what was happening to her and where her belongings had gone were eventually dropped and forgotten. What was she so worried about? Her whole life was starting to feel like some dream as the memories she’d once cherished; her childhood with her long gone friends, being bestowed her Vision and meeting Albedo and the Traveller, begin to fade away as she begins to doubt they were even real in the first place as her mind empties itself of memory and thought. Soon, the woman standing alone in the dark can’t even remember her own name as glassy eyes gaze downwards in silence.

...ara! Li..a! Lia..!” Through the dark, the woman begins to hear a voice call out, looking around before her eyes stop dead in front of her as the pitch black darkness begins to reflect her image back at her. Looking into deep blue eyes as memories begin to flow back into her empty head, taking the place of the previous hosts knowledge of alchemical formulae and other people now foreign to her new identity.

Memories of over a hundred years worth experience providing vital information she would now know like the back of her hand; her name was Liara T’Soni, an Asari researcher who spent her life dedicated to the Protheans and what she’d believed was a perpetual cycle of extinction, being proved correct with the arrival of Sovereign and its thrall; Saren, a rogue Spectre. Although she’d joined up with the famed Commander Shepard after her rescue from Knossos to put an end to Sovereign’s plot to bring back the Reapers from Dark Space. Most of galactic civilization would dismiss their claims that the Reapers were real, even with the resurgence of the Collectors and the various signs left by both the Reapers themselves and the Protheans. It was all too little too late however, by the time leaders across the galaxy decided to turn their heads back to the truth, the Reapers had arrived. “Lia.a! You th..re.Lia..?

Blinking away her thoughts, Liara turns back towards the voice calling out to her as it becomes clearer, a bright light invading the dark space she found herself in as she walks towards the source, gloved hands outstretched as she grabs hold of the light, returning to the realm of the physical as she snaps back awake, staring into the eyes of her beloved Shepard. Her hands wrapped around her shoulder as she realizes she’d accidentally activated her biotics in reflex about to strike her in the face, but the Commander doesn't flinch even as Liara’s contained energies surge close enough to graze her cheeks, smiling with a face full of love back at her. Dispelling the attack with a clenched hand, Liara cuddles closer to Shepard as she nuzzles her head against her warm chest, relieved to be back in the arms of her lover. “I am sorry Shepard...i don't know what came over me...i was having a nightmare of sorts...what brings you to my room?” “Heh, it's all right Liara, we all have nightmares..and I know you’re not gullible enough to strike this face you love so much now would you?” Giggling at her quip, Liara walks back to her console away from Shepards embrace as she looks over the refugee and casualty reports from Thessia, her homeworld that had been the latest to come under assault by the Reapers.

“Still feeling troubled over Thessia? If you ever need a shoulder Liara...i'm here for you.” At the Commander’s words, Liara turns back over to look her in the eyes, before nodding her head in thanks. “Thank you for the offer Shepard but...since you asked…” It felt wrong to ask the Commander for something that seemed so measly at the moment, but it had been ages since the two had shared a bed together! Liara still missed the caress of Shepard's smooth digits over her belly as she ate her out from below, thighs wrapped around her ticklish head of air as she screamed her pleasures to the darkness of space.

Deep in though, Liara fails to notice the Commander moving over silently with a cheeky smile on her lips, Shepard wraps an arms around Liara’s waist as she pulls her in for a kiss, the two women embracing once more as Liara’s hands lift away from the console and onto Shepard’s soft cheeks, fingers rubbing her smooth skin as the two stumble over to the bed, collapsing as Liara trips Shepard over onto the soft sheets, falling over her as her hands remain planted around her loving face. This was the woman who’d pledged to spend the rest of her life together with her, and she wouldn’t have it any other way. Together, the lovers embrace as they strip each other bare, Shepard’s slender, yet muscled body rubbing over Liara’s toned and lithe form.

In a few hours, Cerberus would get their comeuppance for everything they had done so far, including thwarting Liara and the team’s efforts at acquiring the Prothean VI that could’ve saved them so much more time finding the Catalyst to end the Reaper Invasion. But for now, Liara would focus on her time together with her lover, for there was no one else in the galaxy she’d rather be with right now as they approached what seemed like the end of a long journey. Afterwards, who could say what life had in store for them?
