Not wanting to be alone for Christmas and thinking about how Alex probably felt the same way without his family, Miyuki had decided to give him a shot by asking him on a date. And it had been worth it even though she still didn't feel the spark of love for him. She still enjoyed their time together and was eager for more of this time.  

She just hoped that they could both let each other go when and if the time came while still remaining friends. 

Miyuki was brought out of her thoughts when Alex told Bree that Miyuki was with him while smiling to her. 

There was a pause before Alex chuckled, "Sorry. Mihara's first name is Miyuki... Everyone calls her that." 

Smiling in return, she told him, "Say hi for me." 

"Miyuki says hi." 

There was another pause before Alex looked extremely embarrassed, then became serious as he glanced at Miyuki with a smile. "She and I were both alone for Christmas, so she invited me on a date and stayed the night at my place." 

Miyuki hadn't expected him to admit that to his friend, but Alex looked really pleased to have said that and it made Miyuki feel pleased that he was willing to admit that to someone that he had a crush on. 

"So, yes Bree. I found something to do. Was that all you needed? To check in on me and make sure I was, okay?... I'm doing great and we have lots of things to do together like watch movies or play some video games or whatever... Sure. I'll call you tomorrow. Miyuki shrugged nonchalantly. "Do you?" 

It actually didn't bother Miyuki if he did, and it made her wonder as Alex's smile didn't waver.  

"I love her. But only as my best friend. She has helped me so much over the past few years and I've helped her a lot too." 

"I know. You bought her a salon." 

Alex frowned at that. "It wasn't to get her to like me anymore. It was to help her out. She was really starting to hate her job, and that business was going downhill with the terrible manager. I thought she needed something better to do, and I helped her just as much as I've helped some other businesses. I have really moved on from Bree. She isn't interested in me so much as she is with Lexi, and I don't want someone like that. I thought we had both moved on with her having a girlfriend, but she seems to really think that I still have a crush on her. But I can honestly say, that if Tilly and her broke up tomorrow I would not want Lexi there to take her place. Though I would be there to make sure she's okay. Yes, Alex was amazing and would be a great boyfriend. But Alex wanted to remain a guy and wanted to keep him and Lexi as separate as possible. He often talked about Lexi as if she was a different person and definitely acted completely different as well.
