I want to be a fairy.

It’s a weird desire but one that I’ve always had. Since I was a young boy, I’ve always wanted to be one. I guess it is pretty weird, like someone growing up still wanting to be a lion or something. It’s not exactly something I go around sharing a lot.

Still.

I want to be a fairy.

I was twenty now but the desire had never left me. I had prayed for it, wished for it, looked up if any technology was working on it (of course not), and like most others, coped. I had crossdressed a little, cosplayed as a fairy at anime conventions, and even roleplayed as one in dnd and other RP groups.

It was a really weird thing to want to become. I had talked to a few of my friends about it, rarely, and the ones that hadn’t looked at me like I was a little crazy had asked me some questions. “Why?” Being the main one. “You mean a male fairy or…?” was usually the second.

It wasn’t about being a girl for me and I had no reason why.

I just wanted to be a fairy.

The same way someone just likes cheese or someone else is turned on by feet or something, it’s just right. Although, I did want to be a female fairy. It just didn’t, complete? Without that. Part of the fantasy.

Sigh

It didn’t overwhelm my life, it wasn’t an obsession, I could live without but I would jump at the chance to be a fairy if possible. At least games had helped fill the void a little bit.

I was currently in my room, relaxing, trying to get my mind off it. I… okay I had lied a little bit earlier. I had fairy posters on the walls, fairy doujins saved on my phone, cute fairy figurines… but it still wasn’t that bad right? It wasn’t an obsession… right? Well, anyway, I was relaxing on my bed playing some “Fairy Forces 6” on my phone when I heard a pop and a spray of mist appeared in my room. Blue-ish green mist.

I sat up, freaking out about what was going on when a woman appeared in front of me. Well, it was a woman but that wasn’t her most noticeable asset. No, that would have to be the tail of gas that streamed away from her where her legs should be.

It took a second for my mind to catch up, but… didn’t she look just like a-

“Behold mortal. It is I, the Gracious Genie of the West. I have come to deliver upon you a single wish. What is it that you wish for?”

There were a lot of very fantastical elements going on and I should think abou-

“I wish to be a fairy!”

-t it all later. This was my only chance!

The genie blinked as if she had been stunned.

“Really? A fairy? That’s what you want to be?”

“Yes please! Six and a half inches tall, short pink hair, four clear see-through fairy wings in an X pattern, female, with pointed ears like an elf but not as sharp, the ability to fly (what kind of fairy couldn’t fly after all?!), clear light blue eyes and a dainty figure!”

The genie blinked again a few more times while I felt my heartbeat go a mile a minute. Please, please, please, please. Don’t be a delusion, don’t be a dream, be real. Please be real.

“Very well but yo-”

“WOO!!!”

“You should be warned that-”

“It’s fine it’s fine it’s fine it’s fine, please just do it!”

“Look, I’m trying to be nice for once and-”

“PLEASEEEE HURRY!”

She sighed, snapped her fingers and I was gone.

“I decide to be nice once in my life, even giving out a free wish, and do I get a thank you? No. Do I even get to warn them about having to go to a new world if I do this? No. Do they even let me talk for one second so I can warn them that I’ll be sending them to Death Mountain? No. Fucking asshole. Taking all the fun out of it all. Sigh. I wasn’t even trying to torture mortals (too badly) this time! Damn it. This is going to leave a bad taste in my mouth, I just know it.”

And with a snap, she was gone as well.
