Wri-tober was my attempt to write every day in October instead of every day in November. It didn't work too well, this year. I only got two out. This was one. As mentioned in the body of the story this one is darker than my usual fare.

I apologize for how hard this is to read. The new(?) literature interface shows the paragraph line between paragraphs in edit mode, but removes them in read mode. I don't know how to fix it. I'm trying to see if a period will keep the readability.
