TG Race Week 1 Day 5b
“Kah lee forn yah – Prepare to be Governated”

11:30a
“Hey Twin Sis,” greets the male voice on the other end of the cell phone.

Tracey smiles, “Hey Twin Bro!”

“So, what’s up, Tracey?”

“Troy, my favorite twin brother,” she butters him up.

He laughs, “I’m your only twin brother. Unless you count Timmy and Tommy …”

“They don’t look anything like us!”

He laughs at the usual silly argument they use regularly, “So, what do you want?”

“Well, I need you to stop by the lab and pick up a few things. Then I need you to fly them to me in California.”

“No can do, Sis. I fly to France this afternoon …”

“Awww …”

“But I can stop by, get the stuff, and send it with one of my pilot friends. He owes me a favor. You’d just have to pick it up at the airport.”

“That’s great, Troy! You’re the best!” She tells him what to pick up, “Call me back with who, where, and when.”

---

6:05p
Tracey leaves the safety of the back, “Where’d this traffic come from?” KOS-MOS stays quiet as this is a rhetorical question. “Ug! We aren’t going to make it!”

“That is incorrect. Estimated time in traffic is an additional 77 minutes.”

“Arg! We are so close!” She paces back and forth.

---

7:51p
Tracey peeks out of the back after her tenth game of Spider Solitaire, “E.T.A.?”

“39 minutes.”

“Ok. “ As she closes the door, “Thank you.”

A purple light hits the windshield of the van. ZAP!

---

9:30p
“KOS-MOS? How are we doing?”

“Forrsooth, Lass, thou didst frighten me.”

“Doc?”

“Nay,” says the driver, “I am but a poor servant of the queen.”

Tracey looks surprised, “So, what do I call you?”

“Thou might call me William.”

“Ok, William, We are supposed to be crossing the finish line soon. Are we almost there?”

“I knowest not.”

Fear jumps in her throat, “Where are we going?”

“I knowest not. This magical horseless carriage seemeth to have it’s own mind.”

Tracey panics, “William, come here!” He stands and steps toward her. She steps around him and slides into the seat. Properly in control she pulls over and whips out her cell phone, “Toby? Where am I?” She gives him every piece of information she can lay eyes on.

“Sis, you are about 2 hours south of L.A. Turn left at the next light and go about ten blocks and get on ‘The 5’ northbound. In about an hour call me back.” He pauses, “And don’t forget, it’s illegal to drive and talk on the cell phone in California.”

She eyes her assistant, puts the cell phone away, and starts following the directions.

---

11:11p
“Thine brother doth say to taketh ‘The 405’ north.”

She sighs and shakes her head, “I’ll be glad when you are back to normal, Doc.”

“And, then, thou shalt followeth the signs that sayeth the route sixty and six.”

---

11:49p
Tracey, William, and their unsightly VW Bus putt across the finish line. She ushers William into the cylindrical container in the back and pushes a button, “Whew! I’m glad that leg of the race is over. Now to wait for Doc to get back to normal while I pick up the supplies at the airport.”

As she drives, she smiles at the HOLLYWOOD sign on the hill.
