TG Race Week 1 Day 3b
“Oakkkkkkk lahoma!” Part 1

-putt putt putt putt-

“Doc,” asks the speaker in the back, “How come the hot sauce didn’t do what you said?”

He looks around before responding, “Well, the Pico bots were set to activate on contact. So when they hit that woman robot thing, the glass broke taking the majority of the picos with them. Only a few managed to hit the tire on the knee.”

“Oh.” She pauses a moment, “So, it’s a good thing that we closed up the windows and vent, huh?”

“Indeed.” He returns to his previous train of thought, “So, to fix that problem, I’m going to adjust their programming to activate as soon as air touches them. That way they should attach to the target.”

“And that’s why they worked on the ice …”

“Correct. The glass shattered on the ice releasing the ‘Cantes evenly allowing them to eat the ice and well as melt them.”

“Creating a safe passage for us. I wonder where the ice came from …”

“And why everyone was avoiding the bridges … indeed. But that’s all in the past now.” Silence reigns in the car as they continue on.  “Now entering Oklahoma City. Just as I prom …” He stops the van.

“What are you doing? Why did we stop?”

“Tracey, something is wrong. There are no cars driving and all the lights in the buildings are off.”

“That shouldn’t be,” she agrees from the back, “Be careful. This might be an attack.”

“A whole city? Unlikely.” He creeps forward at 10 to 15 miles an hour.

Two blocks into the city, he sees one first. “Tracey, what is that?”

“Bones exposed, parts of body missing, looking similar to each other, coming towards us … Only one thing it could be. Zombies! Go! Go!”

Doctor Cod floors it. He weaves through the zombies as best as he can. He clips a couple, and rams a few eliciting “Yuck!” from the strawberry blond in the back.

Finally, the bus is surrounded and stopped. “Tracey, we need to get out of this group. Get me firepower,” he nearly screams in frustration.

She scrambles out carrying bottles of all colors and labels. She hands one off which he stuffs into the three nozzle gun he got while she was in the back. He loads and fires from the sun roof. The vials go through the zombies and into the next.

“Go for the brains,” she urgently urges him, “Go for the brains!”

He alters his trajectory and fires the next round. A few fall, but not many. SPLOOOK! Out the window, Tracey sees a pie and a brown tailed fox hit a male zombie. Its decayed butt gets bigger until its legs can’t support the weight and breaks the legs. Under the mass of legs it pulls itself under the Volkswagen.

“Doc! We’ve got one under us! It might come up the floor hole.”

“… and I’m running out of vials. We need to do something!”

SPLOOK! Something gets hit outside again.
