TG Race Week 1 Day 3c “Oakkkkkkk lahoma!” Part 2

BOOM! The van shakes nearly tipping over as zombie parts hit the windows on one side. The van rights itself but continues to rock. He looks to her, “They are trying to tip us over!”

“What do we do?”

His eyes light up, “I’ve got an idea. It won’t work for long … Get me the last vial of the green goo and get to the driver’s seat.”

“Yes, Doc!” She scrambles there quickly.

He loads the gun. “Extend-o-wheels!” She hits the button while cringing at the name. She is pressed into the seat as they elevate into the air. He opens the floor board and fires down.

BOOM! Tracey feels the car sink a little lower as the explosion pushes the wheels apart a little. “Yes, the zombies are further away. But we have to get out of here now.”

Tracey looks around and sees they are still surrounded. Two more pies hit the group and two more butts grow and crush the zombies legs. Then it hits her. “I’ve got it! Switch with me!”

She jumps up and digs through the cabinet. He sits in the seat. She pulls out a large pistol type gun and a suction cup on a rope. She loads one into the other, rises, and fires at the top of a nearby building up ahead in the road.

It sticks. It sucks. And she ties the rope off on a hook on the roof. “Extend-o-wheels,” she calls back. The rope tightens as the wheels come up to the van. The van swings toward the building. “Again! And hit the brakes!” The vehicles stops before hitting the building. “Crap! I forgot the disengage.” She ducks down into the bus and gets into the cabinet. SPLOOOK! The van shakes a little.

Tracey pushes the button on the remote and passes the doctor on her way out. “Get ready to do it again.” She pops up and sees a face down pie and another brown fox. She unties the rope, pulls it back, and fires it again. “Again!” The van swings forward again.

“Tracey, Stop!”

“What? Why?”

He lowers the vehicle to the ground. “That!” He points to a glowing red thing hovering in mid-air.

“What is it,” she asks while the zombies start surrounding them again.

“Must be a trap. Radioactive is my guess since it is glowing.”

“What do we do?”

“I’ve got an idea.” He hands her the three nozzle gun. “Try to keep them at bay, but don’t move the van any closer.” She fires into the crowd. SPLOOK! A female zombie starts turning into a male zombie and starts dancing and taking off what’s left of it’s clothes.

“Yuck! I think I’d rather hit them than see that.”

He’s back pulling her down to get there himself. He takes the gun. “You got another of those bathtub plug rockets?”

“No, I only had one.”

“Well, these will have to do then. Get ready to move us.” He loads two black tubes into the gun and fires at the floating, glowing red thing. They hit as the van starts to rock. The black starts to coat the red and then coat the black until the red is no longer visible. Finally he loads the last vial filled with shiny black liquid. He takes aim as best as he can while the van is tipping back and forth and fires. It misses. No, it scratches the bottom of the black floating thing. “Move us now,” He dives back down. She climbs up. “Let’s hope all that covering is enough.”

“Now!” He reaches up from the floor and hits the extend wheels button. “Now!” He hits it again as he gets up into the seat. He slams on the brakes and waits. SPLOOK! “Custard?!? Not now!” She tastes some and grumbles, “Awww, and it’s not even pineapple flavor.”

BOOOOM! The formerly red thing explodes. Well, it tries to. But the layers of plastic and elastic rubber keep the explosion to a minimum and self contained. “It was a b-,” she asks.

“No, not a buh. A bomb! Now get us out of here!”

Time and Time again, she launches the suction cup, ties it to the hood, does an Operation Swordfish and swings over the zombies, recoils and repeats. In this way they make their way slowly over the zombies. In the back the radar displays a blip at the edge of town, but the team doesn’t notice it as they are busy moving the bus.

Finally the zombies lessen and they reach the edge of town. “Another car? Waiting here? You think they did the bomb?”

“Or the zombies?”

“Or the pies? Indeed. Most likely one of those. They are probably seeing what comes out. I know how to deal with them. Get ready to drive.” He loads another bottle of black shiny liquid and fires it at the bullet shaped vehicle. The black bots while excrete elastic juices surround the vehicle covering everything but the wheels and axles in thick rubber. “Go!”

Tracey doesn’t need to be told twice. She accelerates on down the road.
