Becca was flat on her back, her hair a whirlwind surrounding her face, a thin line of drool at the corner of her tiny mouth. She was half out of the cover and her right foot twitched when Kendall called out her name “Becca; time to get up and get ready; we need to leave for camp in a little bit”

“I’m up” she said, her eyes popping open. She sat up and looked around getting reacquainted with her surroundings. She looked at Kendall a bit stunned “Mom?”

“Yes honey” Kendall responded from the doorway calmly.

“Yeah…um…okay” she said swinging her legs over and off the bed. Once her feet hit the floor she went past her Mom and headed for the bathroom.

Becca closed the door behind her, her heart dropping and her stomach rising “I’m still a kid!” she said to her reflection in the mirror “We’re still like this”

Reluctantly, she brushed her teeth and started the water for the shower all the while examining her young face and lack of build in the mirror “Unbelievable; it wasn’t a dream” But the longer she was awake, the more she seemed to settle in. What she had packed and what play they might do sprang to the forefront of her mind, not bills and appointments.

She showered, slightly annoyed at the huge volume of hair she had thinking about if she might get a lead part or barely a line.

Becca dried off and gathered up her bathroom items to pack away. She could hear the shower in her parents’ room running. She peeked in and saw her brothers sprawled out over the bed. Cora came out of her room and pushed past her on her way to the bathroom saying nothing and Becca had nothing to say either.

Once dressed in a black top and tan shorts, ironically the same color combo she had on the day before, she grabbed her rolling duffel bag and backpack and headed downstairs. She was getting some cereal when she heard the front door open “Hey Aunt Jen” she called out without trying to sound awkward.

“What’s up kiddo” Jen Martin had been Rebecca’s younger sister but now, her brain caught up to the fact that she was now Kendall’s sister and her Aunt.

Short with short black hair, Jen looked like Becca had and seeing her standing there like a full and competent adult was startling for a moment. “She’s 24 years old than me now; I’m a little pipsqueak to her; not her older sister anymore…if only she knew”

“I’m watching the boys while your Mom takes you to camp” Jen said coming in and kicking off her shoes.

“Cool, they’d just be bored and annoying anyway” Becca said taking a seat with her bowl and rolling her eyes.

“What’s up Sis?” Kendall said as she came into the kitchen towering over Jen. Before she could do anything more than smile, Kendall had moved her attention to her daughter “Are you ready? Are you excited?”

Becca swallowed her cereal and smiled “I am; I’m looking forward to this” she said in a genuinely enthusiastic voice

“Good” Kendall sounded relieved “I’m so glad; I’m looking forward to seeing whatever you’re staring in at the end of the week. Did you get yourself some coffee Jen?”

“I’ll make a cup in a minute, I just got here” Jen replied. “You always have been a Mom haven’t you?”

“If you only knew” Kendall replied and passed a look with Becca who immediately looked embarrassed and stared down into her cereal.

Cora came down ready to go; she was going to look around and Kendall had promised to talk with the director about next year for her. She gave her Aunt a quick hug as she went by and ignored her sister as she grabbed a granola bar.

“We’ve got to get going” Kendall announced grabbing her purse and taking out her car keys. At the sound of them, Becca looked over and grinned ever so slightly. “I can’t drive anymore” she realized “and technically, this is Mom’s first time behind the wheel too”

Kendall gave no sign of hesitation or concern about her lack of driving experience; to her, she had been driving for over 20 years now.

The camp was an hour away and they passed the time singing to the radio; Cora in the back while Becca rode up front. After parking, they all made their way to camp.

“I should be the one here” popped into Kendall’s mind; not in a jealous way though. She led the way and saw two people, a man and a woman, standing by the front gate with clipboards.

“Hello! My name is Susan Getner and this is Paul Harris, we’re the organizers and directors here and you are…?”

“Rebecca Reynolds” Becca said before her Mother could speak for her.

“Hello Rebecca, it’s nice to meet you” Susan said checking a name off “This is your first time at a camp like this?”

“Yes it is” she answered.

“I think you’re going to love it here” Susan told her.

“All the best actresses have alliterative names like yours” Paul chipped in “I love the double R”

Becca smiled. “You’re going to be in cabin 2” Susan informed her before talking more to Kendall “There will be two plays this week so everyone can get a decent size role in one of them. The performances will be Friday starting at noon and afterwards, she will be back to you”

The word choice rang in both of their ears but neither showed it. “Auditions will be this afternoon after everyone gets here but it’s not drama 24 hours a day. We’ll also be swimming and hiking and doing a ton of workshops including make-up and costuming to give everyone a full experience this week” Paul added.

Susan offered to take Becca to her cabin while Paul talked with Kendall and Cora. “Bye Mom…bye Cora” she said. Kendall hugged her daughter with all her might “I’m going to miss you so much this week”

“No you won’t; everybody else will keep you plenty busy” Becca teased her Mom.

“Have a good time. We will see you on Friday”

Becca nodded and turned to go off on her own.

“Looking forward to being on your own this week?” Susan asked.

Becca smiled “Yeah, it’s my first time really away on my own for any length of time. Grandma’s house for a night doesn’t count you know”

“We have a lot of fun here; you’re going to have a great time”

There was only one other girl in cabin 2, a redhead who was a few inches taller than Becca. “Victoria; I’d like you to meet one of your bunk mates, this is Rebecca”

“Hi…I’m Tori” she said.

“Becca” she put her hand out and they shook.

Susan went back up front leaving the two girls alone. There were 6 beds in the room so Becca headed for one in the far corner to put her stuff on. As she unpacked a few things, Rebecca grasped that she really was 12 now. She couldn’t think of a good way to break the ice; all the awkwardness of being a tween had returned to her in full force. Her adult skill of small talk had vanished along with her boobs.

That thought made her chuckle to herself.

“What’s funny?” Tori asked.

“Nothing; just something stupid popped into my head” Becca said. “Where are you from?” she finally asked.

“Hadley; how about you?” Tori asked back.

“Adamsville” Becca replied. “What grade are you going into?”

“8th

“7th for me so you’re older”

“Yeah, I guess. Have you been in a play before?” Tori asked.

“I was in the Nutcracker at Christmas but I didn’t have any lines and I was Cindy Lou Who at my school a few years ago”

“I played Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz last year at my school” Tori said.

They went back and forth on a few other things before Susan reappeared with two girls who looked alike “This is Carrie and this is Laurie; they’re sisters if you couldn’t tell” and the line of basic questions began again.

As their cabin filled up with Amy and Riley, the conversations got a little bit deeper and longer. Becca was feeling comfortable with girls her own age and intimidated by adults. An announcement came over bringing everyone together at the main building where all the activities were laid out and everyone got a few pages from a script.

Becca smirked when she saw that the pages were from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. They had two hours to practice before they would audition.

Kendall and Cora drove home talking. Kendall felt natural as a Mother and they stopped at McDonalds as they got closer to bring back lunch for everyone at home. Small things still got to her; like when dealing with the teenaged boy behind the counter who should be 5 years older than her but instead was now almost 25 years her junior.

As they got closer to their house, they passed Maddie Holmes on her bike. That had been Kendall’s best friend but now, she was just a kid on a bike that hung around with her daughter at times.

Getting back home, the boys were up and running around the backyard while her sister Jen watched them. They were happy to take a chicken nugget break and Eli sat on his Mom’s lap the whole time he ate.

“I’m older than Aunt Jen; I’m her older sister now. She looks so much like Becca did when she was grown up” she thought as they talked and ate.

Becca and her bunkmates were running lines with each other. She and Carrie were going back and forth in different roles while Tori read Willy Wonka’s part. Becca was actually looking forward to after the auditions because a workshop on stage makeup was going to be held then.

She wasn’t as nervous as she thought she would be as she auditioned for the 4 adults across the room. Part of Kendall’s theatrical love must have transferred to her because she was more dramatic then she had ever been before in her life.

She read her lines and sang a bit of a song feeling good about her performance. After it was over, she headed back to her cabin to change into her swimsuit. They were allowed to go swimming in the lake while everyone else had their turn.

Amy was just getting ready to go out the door when Becca came in. She sat and talked to her while Becca changed clothes. Her skinny build didn’t bother her one bit even though she was the smallest girl in her cabin. She grabbed a towel and went to swim with Amy.

The amount of energy that she had impressed her. She swam and jumped and horsed around for an hour without getting winded or tired at all “Being 12 has its perks” she thought.

More and more kids streamed down to the lake to play until everyone made their way there. Becca noticed a few cute boys and felt her nerves ramp up even thinking about talking with them.

After dinner, they announced what part everyone was playing. Becca was anxious to hear and she broke out into a smile when she heard her name right after the character of Violet Beauregard.

They got their pages before Becca headed off to the makeup workshop where she learned how to layer and mix colors. She was laughing and having a great time. There was a bonfire before lights out where they all sat around and sang.

Heading back to her cabin with her bunkmates, Becca realized that she hadn’t thought about home, or being 40 years old all day. She was immersed in the moment and enjoying it.

The next two days were filled with rehearsals and building sets. They made their own costumes and props and still managed to hike and swim and have fun like kids should. It was on Wednesday night that the pressure began to build up.

“Would you stop stepping on my line!” the boy who was playing Charlie yelled at Becca.

“I’m sorry Jack” she replied.

“You keep coming in early and cutting off my last word. If you do that on our performance, I’ll…” he huffed and turned his back to her.

“I…” Becca couldn’t find her voice. Her cheeks burned and she bit her lip.

“I told you she wasn’t any good” she heard Riley whisper to Laurie to which Laurie giggled.

Becca wanted to run. Part of her mind was telling her to just dash off the stage and leave. She didn’t have to put up with this, she was…She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She could hear Susan talking to Jack as she thought “What are you? You’re not an adult anymore. You’re a girl; the smallest and least talented girl here. If you run, they’ll all make fun of you and talk about you. You have to do this”

A ringing built up in her ears until she said “I’ll get it right; maybe you’re just going to slow and grandstanding for your precious ego”

Jack turned, his jaw hanging. Becca glared at him “You’re not the director of this show and you’re no star already to be the one to boss me around and tell me what to do!” She only came up to Jack’s chin as she said “I’ll listen to Paul and Susan and do what they tell me, not you, you…” her frustration built but her mind wouldn’t let her swear in front of an adult “…you…don’t be a jerk okay” she finally said.

Becca turned and stared at her two roommates. They both looked down at their feet knowing they had been heard.

“Take a deep breath Rebecca” Susan said.

“I’m sorry but he keeps dragging out his lines and…”

Susan put her hand up “We’ll work on your timing together. Don’t worry about it, just calm down and we’ll run the scene again”

The next time through went very smooth and Becca laughed at the end which made Jack laugh as well. “See the theater leads to hot heads sometimes but when it comes together for the audience, it’s all worthwhile. Both of you stood up for yourselves and both of you are better for it; that’s what this is all about; learning and growing” Paul told them as they reset for the next scene.

Becca felt better but still cast a glance at Riley and Laurie “I’d forgotten that once girls are past the age of 8, they’re just jealous bitches” she thought to herself. “It was the same the first time I was this age”

While Becca was standing up for herself, Kendall was finally sitting down. “This is just non-stop” she thought as she exhaled and ran her hands through her hair. Jacob had dozed off and she hoped he would sleep for a while but that thought was put aside as she heard him toss and turn “I’m right here” she said rushing to him.

“Mom I…blurgh”

They had gone to the movies earlier in the day and about halfway through, Jacob had come over to her and said that his stomach wasn’t feeling good. Eli was already sitting on her lap as they watched so she had Cora move down a seat so he could sit next to her. She had stroked his forehead and he didn’t feel hot but he was sweaty and clammy.

Once the movie had ended, she carried Jacob out which had upset Eli even though Cora had held his hand. She had the air conditioning on but Jake’s cheeks just got redder and redder until he went pale.

The screams from Eli and Cora when Jake threw up all over the backseat had startled Kendall more than anything “Calm down! Are you okay Jake?”

“No” he moaned.

“Are you going to throw up anymore?” she asked as she put all the windows down.

“I don’t know” he said.

“Mom I’m going to puke!” Cora said.

“Put your nose up and out towards the window and it’ll take away the smell” Kendall told her daughter “We’ll be home in a few minutes” She drove as fast as she could but she couldn’t make it go any faster.

As soon as they pulled into the drive “Cora get Eli!” she told her.

Cora hopped out before the key was turned off. She and Eli ran into the yard and started to laugh.

Kendall slung Jake on her hip with his head on her shoulder and carried him to the house. A step before they got in “Blurgh”

She felt the warmth on her back but she held him tight. She put him down on a kitchen chair while she yanked off her shirt. Her bra strap had gotten it too but she didn’t have time for that. She carried him upstairs to the bathroom and put him in front of the toilet.

She stroked his hair and ran water in the sink. She put a washcloth on his head and sat with him for a few minutes. After he threw up again, some color returned to his face. She wiped his face off and got his clothes off of him.

“Get some pjs on and lay down in bed. I’ll get a bucket for you if you think you’re going to throw up again” She guided him through the motions “I’ll get some ginger ale too to get the taste out of your mouth and try to settle your stomach down”

Once he was laying down, Kendall took a second to take off her bra and put on one of Mark’s t-shirts. Cora and Eli were inside in the living room “Listen for your brother, I’ve got to clean the car out now too”

“Motherhood, the most rewarding job in the world” she told herself “Wish I was 12 again” she thought as she gagged her way through cleaning out the stinking car. She left all the windows down and sprayed a ton of Lysol and air fresheners after she had scrubbed the car down.

She got Jacob into a bath and sat with him and put him back to bed to take care of Eli who was now whining that he was hungry.

“Going to be a long night” she mumbled to herself.

She would end up staying with Jacob all night, dozing off for a bit here and there but never really sleeping for long.

She was relieved when he woke up the next morning his usual self; full of energy and asking to go swimming as if nothing had happened.

Kendall made her way to her bathroom and finally took a shower, the smell had lingered with her all night and she was afraid it had gotten into her hair. She examined the bags under her eyes and took several deep breaths feeling how tired she was. Jacob had gotten Cora and Eli to ask if they could go swimming now too. “We’ll see” was all she could answer in a tired voice.

Thursday’s rehearsals went better for Becca. She knew her lines pretty well and was more interested in getting her costume right. She had a big surprise ready for her big scene. She decided it wasn’t even worth it with Riley and Laurie “I’m not going to waste my time and energy on those two” she told herself. Even though it had only been one comment, it had hurt her. “Being 12 kind of sucks” she said to herself.

But she had went swimming every day, she hadn’t cared what she ate and she had energy for days. Nothing ached on her young and skinny body but every emotion ran through her constantly. “I wonder how Mom is doing?” she thought. “I mean Kendall”

Becca stopped her work and looked around, other kids were working around her but no one was paying any real attention to her “Is this me from now on?” she asked herself looking down at her small hands “Will we switch back? My mind is pretty used to this now; going back to being, well, who I was, might not even work. I’m sure Kendall is in full Mom mode by now. Thinking about being 12 is probably a faint memory to her. If she goes back to being a kid, would she be bored or so filled with rage having adulthood thrust on her for a week then taken away. Man, I don’t know”

Carrie and Tori suddenly sat down in front of her startling her out of her thought “Oh” she said, her voice squeaking “I didn’t see you two”

“You need to just ignore my sister” Carrie told her straight up “She can be a real you know what. She drives me crazy so I can imagine what it’s like to just meet her”

Becca smiled and blushed “I’m ignoring them”

“You totally should” Tori told her “You’re good at this, just as good as they are and you’re definitely better than all of us at costumes”

Now Becca really blushed “Thanks” she mumbled “I’m just like, really getting into it you know. I’ve never gotten to work with costumes and makeup before”

“You’ve done enough though, it’s perfect and it’ll work great: What you need to do is relax and come with us. We found where they hid our phones and the Wi-Fi password. We’re going to go Meme sharing” Carrie told her.

Becca dropped what she was doing and followed her friends.

Kendall was packing bag after bag and thought “Wow…Mom was right about this not being easy. I’m so tired…I’m exhausted and yet here I am, taking three kids to the pool. I’ve got snacks, I’ve got towels, I’ve got sunscreen and hats and cover up shirts and floats and water wings and extra clothes and I’m not even dressed yet myself…Why did I want to be the parent?”

The boys ran by in swim trunks already, Cora was still in her room as Kendall went to change her clothes. She pulled her hair up into a messy bun on top of her head and dug into the bottom drawer. She pulled out a very Mom looking bathing suit; it was a black one piece with a yellow stripe done each side.

Kendall stepped into it and felt it cling and hug her ample ass cheeks. She sucked in her tummy and tucked in her boobs as she pulled the straps over her shoulders. Her ever present glasses would have to stay as she couldn’t find her prescription sunglasses so she grabbed a visor instead.

Descending the stairs in her suit signaled a cheer from the kids.

She never took her eyes off the pool, constantly scanning from one child to another when she was sitting at the table. She ventured in a time or two to play with Eli as Cora was off playing with Maddie Holmes.

Cora was excited as Maddie was one of her older sister’s friends who usually ignored her but with slim pickings at the pool that day, they were swimming together and goofing off with a blow up that was shaped like a donut with a bite taken out of it.

Kendall sighed at the sight of her friend and the lack of care and responsibility she had at the pool. She was dunking herself and laughing while Kendall was already worried that the kids would snack too much or swallow too much pool water. “That is what I gave up so I could be in charge; Mom has it so easy I thought”

She kept making Jake take breaks to make sure he didn’t get sick again; no one needed a kid puking in the pool. And as they drove home after a few hours in the sun, all Kendall could think about was seeing Becca tomorrow at camp and what it might bring both of them.

Becca had a great time hiding out with Tori and Carrie and she went to bed happy and ready for her performance the next day. She was a bit anxious to see everybody tomorrow but whatever the day brought, she would be ready for it.

Kendall got up and began her day immediately like all the others. She rushed through her shower and got ready while waking up her kids and getting them ready. When it came time to get dressed, she smirked at her choices. She ended up picking out tan shorts and a black top and black sandals in hopes that it would bring it all full circle.

“Why are you rushing me?” Cora asked her impatient Mother.

“I’m just ready to get on the road okay; I haven’t seen your sister since Monday”

“Why would you want to?” Cora shot back “Been pretty nice around here without her if you ask me”

“You’ll understand when you’re a Mom” Kendall told her, the irony of the words not lost on her.

“Yeah well, I’m in no hurry to be a Mom okay” Cora said pulling her hair up in a ponytail.

“Good, don’t ever say you would want to switch places with me” Kendall said with a laugh.

“You’re weird Mom” Cora replied.

Kendall gathered up the boys and got on the road, driving the hour to the camp and thinking about what might happen.

All the campers were up early putting the finishing touches on their plays. There were two shows to make sure everyone got a decent part so stages were set up and they all spent extra time getting dressed and doing their hair and makeup.

Becca combed out her long black hair as straight as she could tucking it back behind a red headband. She put on her purple pants and blouse and psyched herself up. “Today’s the day” she kept telling herself.

Becca was behind the scenes and didn’t see her family come in a get their seats in the bleachers. But when she peeked out, she saw them.

Kendall was keeping the boys in line and occupied when she saw Becca’s face appear. The smile and wave she got warmed her heart like she never thought possible.

Kendall was nervous; she kept tapping her feet “Why are you so fidgety Mom?” Cora asked.

“I think I’m more nervous for this than Becca is” she admitted.

The first scenes came and went before Becca and most of the cast appeared. Becca was prepared and delivered her lines flawlessly.

Becca was nervous and when it came time for her big scene though, she was ready. “Give me that gum!” she said. She made her way to the side of the stage and once it came time to say “I feel funny; what’s happening to me” she stepped on a small button she had rigged up on stage. A leaf blower turned on below her making her pants blow up as she pulled the cord of the inflatable life jacket she had on under her purple blouse.

Her props worked beautifully as the jacket exploded outward popping the red belt she had on and making her look like she was blowing up like a blueberry.

The applause was thunderous as was the laughter as she rushed offstage to her Oompa Loompa song.

The play managed to keep the boys attention as Kendall wiped a tear of happiness from her eye.

“That was awesome” Tori told Becca as she came offstage “It worked perfectly!”

“Thanks” Becca beamed as she deflated the vest. She watched the rest of the show from the sidelines.

Once it was all over and they had taken their bows. Kendall rushed the stage and hugged Becca as tight as she could. Becca for her part had her face smashed into her Mom’s massive breasts while trying to say “I missed you too”

“I’m so proud of you!” Kendall said over and over.

After getting a look at Cora and the boys, Becca thought “I’m proud of you too”

Susan and Paul wrapped up their group and heaped praise on them for all their hard work. Becca headed back to her cabin to pack up and say goodbye.

After mostly laughter and exchanged social media accounts, parents began to appear and help out. Never having a moment to themselves, Becca found herself riding shotgun back home while Kendall drove.

She told them all about her week and answered question after question all the way home. But once they were back, Cora headed to her room and the boys began to play cars and watch a movie.

“So…” Becca asked sitting down on her twin bed in her bedroom.

Kendall closed the door behind her and sat down next to her “So…” she replied.

“What do you think about me having it so easy being a stay at home Mom?” Becca asked.

“You were right and I was wrong and I’ll be the first one to admit it” Kendall said. “It’s not easy; not one bit of it. It’s a constant flowing beast…it never stops…you never stop but…” she looked over “It is rewarding and the love I felt this week is indescribable”

“I know” Becca said. She looked down at the bedspread and picked at it nervously “I want to say that I had forgotten how hard it is to be 12 too. I had so many ups and downs this week; constantly going back and forth. The doubts and insecurities and yet the confidence and feeling of having everything open to me. It’s just weird you know”

“I do now; so much more than I did last Sunday when this all started” Kendall said. She patted Becca on the leg.

“So what now?” Becca asked.

“I don’t know” Kendall answered honestly.

“I mean, do we like switch back or are we stuck like this now?”

“I honestly don’t know honey. What do you want to happen?”

“I want to switch back. You’re obviously capable of doing this but you deserve a chance to grow up and make your own choices and do all of what I did for yourself” Becca said.

“I want to switch back too” Kendall said. “Part of me has enjoyed this week and being a grown up and taking care of everything and driving and you know, just being like in charge” she giggled which brought a skeptical look to Rebecca’s face. “I wish I was 12 again and you were my Mom again”

“I wish I was your Mom again and you were my 12 year old daughter again” Rebecca replied.

They joined hands. “Besides” Kendall said “Dad will be home tomorrow and there is no way…”

“I know honey, I know…” Rebecca said. A few thoughts began to race through Rebecca’s mind. An acceleration of her mind began, worries and concerns and she realized, motherly thoughts crept in where they had been lost.

Her jaw dropped looking at Kendall. They both still looked their new parts but her heart began to race in anticipation of what was about to occur “Do you feel it?” she asked.

Kendall nodded enthusiastically “I do. We’re going to change back. I know it”

Rebecca nodded “I don’t know why I know it too, I just do. I can feel it inside of me. I know you did an awesome job…”

“Stop; getting puked on all night by Jacob was enough Mom experience for me for now” Kendall laughed as she stood up, a tingling building throughout her body.

“See, you know you can handle possibly one of the worst things motherhood brings; getting puked on” Rebecca said as she too stood up. She put her arms out locked straight and splayed out her tiny fingers. She was wearing a simple green top and black shorts which seemed to be clinging to her legs tighter now than just a second previously.

Rebecca looked down at her tiny feet and wiggled her dainty little toes, the waving motion seemed to be a hello and a goodbye at the same time as her feet began to spread out wider and her toes grew longer. Rough patches of skin appeared around her heels as they too spread outward. Her mint green nail polish, which had mostly chipped off during the week disappeared “I recognize those feet” she said “That’s what my feet are supposed to look like”

Kendall looked at her Mom and smiled, she thought the gap in their height was beginning to narrow again. She was right as she was starting to shrink and Rebecca was growing again.

Kendall’s hair brushed against her ears and shoulders as it took off growing long and straight and wild. Her cracked hands reached up and stroked it as it grew, her hands smoothing out and slimming down as they grasped the strong locks.

Kendall’s body shuddered as it contracted inward and downward. Several inches dropped off suddenly along with substantial weight. Her hips cracked coming inward as her ass and thighs and stomach slimmed “Whoa” she said, her hand shooting out and landing on Rebecca’s shoulder to steady herself “That was sudden”

“Tell me about it! You just like dropped 4 inches all at once!” Rebecca said “Must have been building up in you”

Kendall looked down at her chest, her breasts were pulling up and dwindling quickly as her back and chest came in “Talk about dramatic but at least my back feels better”

“I never had that problem really” Rebecca admitted. Her legs were growing and filling back out and rounding out. Her hips slid out and her ass began to plump back up. Her slight belly roll returned as her skin roughened; small dots lined her legs indicating she needed to shave before Mark got home.

Rebecca licked her thin lips at the thought of being with her husband again. A thought that she might never be with him had plagued her all week and had driven her to want to change back. Her lips plumped, her teeth suddenly popped as the braces she had lived with for the past week vanished, and lines began to etch again along the corners.

Her face filled in and her cheeks sagged back down to adult levels. Her brown eyes narrowed and she blinked refocusing on her changing daughter.

Kendall’s face thinned and returned to her childish look. Her blue eyes brightened and she smiled feeling the glasses leave her. Her skin smoothed and lightened as her nose shrank and her cheeks rose up. Her lips thinned, her chin and jaw slid back as she returned to 12.

Her body continued to shrink, more inches and pounds came off of her. Her legs thinned and her feet shrank back down much smaller. As her Mom grew back to 5’1”, only an inch separated them again. “I think I’m going to enjoy the slow growing process to get back up there” she giggled, her voice once again sounding young and vibrant.

“Yeah, I like seeing you this close again” Rebecca responded in a maturing voice. As the wrinkles returned to her face, her hair pulled back up close and razor lined along her neck back into her usual pixie cut. She ran her fingers, which had returned to form and reacquired the wedding ring and diamond, through it “Thank God that hair is off of me…so hot and itchy!”

“But perfect for playing Violet” Kendall teased her.

“You would’ve gotten Verruca you know” Rebecca teased back.

Kendall stuck her hands on her slim hips and stuck out her tongue. A tingle shot through her body sending her arms out; with a shudder, she was back fully to 12.

Rebecca pulled her arms in tucking them close to her body as she too shuddered her way back to 39. Both let out a deep breath and smiled before breaking out in full laughter.

“Wow” Kendall said looking down at her diminished but appropriate body.

“Never thought I’d miss knee pain but that old creaking sensation feels like home to me” Rebecca laughed as she bent her knee “I earned you; you haven’t yet”

“I know and now I wonder what camp would have been like” Kendall admitted.

“Nothing like what you went through, let me tell you” Rebecca admitted “That was no vacation for you”

“Yeah, in a way, it was” Kendall said “I’ll look at so many things so differently now”

“So will I and I guess that was the whole point” Rebecca conceded.

“So what are the odds of letting me keep up my driving skills?” Kendall asked.

“None” Rebecca shot back “But you can continue on your babysitting and cooking skills”
