Maureen Harris heard her phone going off and thought “This isn’t when Todd usually calls in”
She picked it up and said “What’s up Honey?”
“I’m stuck in traffic; there was a huge wreck right in front of me” Todd told her.
“Oh My God are you okay?!” Maureen asked.
“Yeah…I think everyone was okay in the end but it’s shut down the highway…it’s a parking lot out here”
“Did you call your boss?”
“Yeah…I told him I’d be there when I got there…but you have to do me a favor…set the DVR; I just got interviewed by Channel 10”
“Really?” Maureen said leaving her desk in her office and walking to the living room to set the TV “No…don’t even tell me…” Maureen said. She was shaking her head and shutting her eyes as she went.
“Yep!” Todd said enthusiastically.
“Oh dear Lord…don’t tell me that you actually got to meet your crush and talk to her”
“Yes” Todd said. “I was interviewed by the one and only Ms. Sierra Stephens”
Maureen sighed dramatically; it was a running joke that her husband had a crush on the reporter from channel 10 “Of all the people you could have talked to…Scott from channel 3…Belinda from channel 7…”
“Nope…Sierra came up to me while I was standing outside my car and asked if I would answer a few questions about what I had seen”
“Eye-witness news…Channel 10” Maureen replied saying their slogan.
“Hey, it looks like the wrecker is moving; I might get out of here soon, I’ll talk to you later…love you Hun”
“Love you too” Maureen replied hanging up. “Dear Lord…he’ll talk about this for the next year” she said to herself as she padded her way back down the hall to her office.
Todd did walk around the office telling everyone about his morning and just about everyone promised to watch his chat with the raven haired beauty.
By 5:00, Maureen had wrapped up her day at her computer and had dinner on as she plopped down on the couch and flipped on the TV. She turned to Channel 10 and made sure it was recording as well.
She was wearing a gray t-shirt and a pair of pink shorts, her usual casual wear for when she got to work from home.
There had been a shooting and a fire that started off the newscast and they were doing a national story about the Presidential race when she heard the door open.
“Have I been on yet?!” Todd yelled as he rushed into the room.
“No, not yet” Maureen responded. She was lounging on the couch, propped up on the arm rest with her bare legs out to the side. She ran a hand through her short blonde hair, smiling at her fanboy husband.
Todd hustled in and sat on the couch at his wife’s feet. She put them up on his lap as he settled in.
The news went to commercial with the tease “We’ll revisit the big headache this morning on I-10 coming up”
“Alright…so tell me about it” Maureen said with a teasing smile “Is she as pretty in person as she is on TV?”
Todd blushed “Yes she is”
“It’s okay honey…so you got to meet your celebrity crush. I guess I have to wait for Channing Tatum to come to town”
“She’s short though…shorter than I thought…like she’s only probably 5’4” Todd told her.
Maureen smirked “You weren’t looking at her height slick”
Todd laughed “No…her face is so perfect and symmetrical and her smile…”
Maureen rolled her hand at him “Go on…”
“The black hair and blue eye combination with that bright white smile…”
“And her amazing rack…” Maureen prompted.
“Okay yeah…if she’s still wearing the same thing she had on when she talked to me, it’s a bright pink sleeveless top and a tight black skirt at her knees and high…I mean high…black heels”
“And it brings out the best?” Maureen said.
“Well…Hey…have I told you how lucky I am to be married to a woman as charming and understanding and beautiful as yourself”
“You suck up” Maureen said with a dismissive wave of her hand and a turn of her head as they both laughed.
“Oooo! Here it is” Todd yelled.
The anchor, Ted Mitchell, led into the story “Hopefully you weren’t one of the people who was late to work this morning due to an 8 car pileup on I-10 this morning. The wreck happened at around 8:15…our own Sierra Stephens is here with more details”
The camera shifted to the beautiful reporter standing next to a large screen that said ‘I-10 Crash’
Sierra Stephens squared up to the camera which showed the bright pink top and her serious face “Yes Ted, it was definitely a headache as the highway was shut down in the northbound lanes for just over an hour this morning during rush hour. The good news to report is that there were no serious injuries for any of the drivers or passengers involved”
The scene cut to an overhead shot of stopped traffic with Sierra’s voiceover “This was the scene captured by our own Sky Chopper 10; traffic at a dead stop stretching back several miles. It all began when a semi lost control and went off the road. The driver of the semi then overcompensated as he steered back onto highway clipping a minivan and beginning a chain reaction”
Maureen smiled as she saw her husband’s face come on screen. She gave a little clap as the voiceover said, “Todd Harris was on his way to work when the crash happened right in front of him”
“Yeah, I saw the semi drift off then come back on with a sudden jerk. I hit my brakes and luckily I was in the next lane over when the other cars starting hitting off of each other. I came to a stop just behind one of the cars that got hit and luckily everyone else was able to break in time or it could have been much worse”
The next shot was of another driver being interviewed which showed a cut away to a concerned looking Sierra before her voiceover wrapped it up.
The station cut back to the studio where Sierra was still next to the screen “The driver of the semi is under investigation to see if drugs, alcohol or exhaustion were factors in the accident…back to you Ted”
A wide shot showed Sierra rocking her right foot back on her heel and smiling as Ted told her “Thank You Sierra”
Once the camera was off of her and solely focused back on the anchor desk, Sierra Stephens exhaled and walked from the studio floor back to her desk in the newsroom. She would have to report the story again in the same setup in an hour for the 6 o’clock show but until then, she could catch up on possible stories for tomorrow on her computer.
She sat and scooted up close to her desk. She slipped her feet out of her heels and rested them on the short industrial carpet that covered the newsroom and got lost in reading some stories online.
“Wow…there was your 15 seconds of fame” Maureen told her husband.
“At least it made sitting in traffic worthwhile” Todd told her.
“Yeah…whatever…I know you’ve been thinking about her all day”
“Oh come on” Todd replied.
“I’m just teasing you…lighten up” Maureen said. “Sierra’s on TV for a reason; she’s gorgeous. If a TV reporter looked like me, she wouldn’t be on for long”
“Stop it honey, you’re beautiful…you could be a news reporter if you wanted to…be on TV every night. Professional makeup and wardrobe go into that too…not that you would ever need that anyway” Todd scrambled.
Maureen made her disgusted face “Women who look like her don’t work from home in IT services…they belong on TV”
Todd laughed.
“Still…if I’m sure you wish I looked like her, I’m sure you’d be a very happy man if that happened” Maureen said.
Todd looked down at his wife’s legs that rested on his lap “Damn straight I’d be happy if I got to come home every night to a woman who looked like Sierra…yeah…I wish…”
The lights flickered and the TV rebooted for a second before the screen reset and the used car commercial kicked back in “That was weird” Maureen mumbled.
Sierra was checking her makeup in the bathroom “Got to look good for the next standup” she thought as she worked around her eyes “Got to give the people what they want”
Her general manager reminded her constantly about how she had been voted sexiest newscaster for their market in some online poll. “I want to be known for my reporting skills, not just my looks” she thought. “I wish they’d take me seriously around here and not just use me for my body”
The lights flickered in the bathroom and Sierra jumped. When she did, she poked the corner of her eye with her eyelash brush “Fuck” she said rubbing her eye “That hurt”
She turned her back to the mirror and leaned her butt up against the sink as she pressed her hand to her right eye. She blinked rapidly but as she did, her bright blue eyes began to darken and turn brown.
“Ah…son of a bitch” Sierra said, her eyes watering. She turned and leaned over the sink toward the mirror. She focused and squinted “What the fuck?” she whispered looking into her eyes.
Maureen felt her eyes getting dry “Stupid allergies” she mumbled as she rubbed them.
She gave her head a little shake at the end and crinkled up her nose. Her nose began to lift and the shape of her eyes began to change along with the color. Her usual brown eyes were lightening to a bright sky blue as her eyes widened and her eyelashes thickened.
Her nose, which was a big large by her own admission, began to shrink smaller as it lifted further away from her upper lip. The sides came in line and trimmed and the end turned up slightly at the end, pert and tiny.
Maureen’s round cheeks began to lengthen and become more defined and streamlined. She smacked her lips together as a different taste flooded into her mouth.
A sense of confusion and concern began to flutter in Maureen’s mind “What’s going on with my face?” she thought. Her hands came up tentatively as it felt like her chin and jaw were dropping and moving downward on their own accord.
A lump formed in her throat, butterflies appeared in her stomach and a tingle of pure nerves started at the base of her skull and the back of her neck.
Maureen opened her mouth and clutched her chin, she shifted her jaw back and forth “Something’s not right…” she thought.
“Honey” she said softly.
Todd turned and his eyes bugged out and his jaw dropped “Oh My God Honey…what’s happening to your face?”
The tingle at the base of her skull increased and panic set in “What is it?!”
“You…your face! It’s like changing!” Todd said standing up.
“Changing into what?!” Maureen yelled as she leapt up and spun around. “What’s happening to my face?”
Her teeth were shifting and growing and whitening as her lips plumped, her chin rounded and protruded out more while her jaw strengthened.
Black hairs began to pop out across the top of her head taking over where the blonde had once been. The hair grew long and wild, flowing and cascading down over her shoulders as she broke into a run toward the mirror in her bedroom.
As she ran, she could feel her hair growing and flying out wildly behind her as she pivoted and jumped down the hall. Her ears rose up, her forehead dropped and her eyebrows darkened and rose.
As she flipped on the bedroom light and dashed to the mirror, she got the first glimpse of her face “AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!” She screamed long and hard at the reflection.
Todd was behind her in an instant but still not comprehending what he was seeing. His wife’s face was different and he didn’t understand why or how it had happened.
Sierra leaned closer and closer, her heels lifting off the floor as she leaned her weight on the sink to get as close to the mirror as she could “Why are my eyes brown?” she mumbled to herself and the reflection.
With her weight balancing, she let out a quick “AH!” and slid off sideways catching her balance as she had seen her nose twitch and grow and it had shocked her.
Sierra caught herself and went right back to the mirror “My nose!” she said. “What’s happening to my nose? Why is it growing and changing?”
Sierra’s nose dropped lower and began to get larger. The bridge came out wider and the bottom grew larger and developed a bulge as her cheeks lifted up and became much rounder.
“Fuck! My face…what’s happening to my face?!” Her eyes narrowed and her forehead rose taking with it her eyebrows, which lightened and shortened.
Her teeth shrank down smaller inside her mouth and her lips thinned. Her makeup remained on but kept up with the changes that were occurring. As her lips thinned, her lipstick went with them along with her eye makeup and the foundation needed for TV lights.
“I…” she was dumbstruck as her chin came in weaker and less pronounced along with her jaw. Her ears grew larger and her hair began to lighten and lift up. Her long flowing raven locks, her TV trademark, were changing into a short blonde bob cut. It styled up and held though as if it was treated and prepped for TV.
“Who the fuck am I even looking like? What’s happening to me?!” Sierra pleaded to the mirror.
Sierra’s shoulders rose up slightly broader and she herself rose up 2 inches in height. Her skin lightened on her bare arms as they too got longer and thinner all the way down to her hands.
Sierra lifted her hands up and watched as light purple nail polish appeared on her previously bare nails. Her hands got larger and wider and her fingers grew along with her nails. “Fuck…it’s not stopping!”
Sierra felt an odd tingling in her chest “No…no…” she said as her hands made their way to her chest even though her hands no longer looked like her own anymore.
“What the…Fuck?!” she yelled to herself. Her pink sleeveless top pulled tighter against her chest as her breasts began to shrink. Her natural 38D breasts, the main reason she had won that stupid online poll, were shrinking down to a 32B. She felt her bra straps adjust and the bra never felt loose as her clothes adjusted like her makeup had. Sierra spun to the side to see her reduced profile.
Her stomach stayed flat but her hips began to narrow and her ass began to shrink now as well.
Standing in front of the mirror in her bedroom, Maureen took in the sight of her face and hair. She frantically ran her fingers through the black hair that seemed to be everywhere “That’s not right!” she said.
Maureen’s shoulders narrowed and she dropped 2 inches in height to 5’4”. Her arms rose up and muscled tighter as her skin darkened. She felt a pulsation in her hands and she lifted them up in front of her face. Her light purple nail polish was getting lighter and lighter until it disappeared, leaving behind clear nails that shrank down on shrinking fingers and shrinking hands.
“My…my hands” she said in a very shaky voice.
Maureen felt pressure in her chest and she heard a stretching sound emanating from there. “What the fuck?” She said lifting up her shirt. “AH!”
“Oh MY God Todd! Help ME!” she yelled as her breasts swelled beneath the light fabric of her bra.
The bra grew and changed style to a more supportive type as her breasts grew larger and larger on her chest.
“Holy Shit” Todd mumbled as he watched his wife’s breasts grow massive.
“What’s happening to me Todd?” Maureen pleaded as her stomach flattened down slightly and her hips began to shift and flare out.
“I…I DON’T KNOW” Todd yelled in fear and frustration yet fascination also crept in. He looked at his wife; the black hair and blue eyes, the entire face…it looked familiar to him. Like a gut punch it hit him.
Maureen felt her shorts move against her waist and begin to lift and rise up her thighs.
Similar to how her chest had just felt as it had ballooned out, now she was feeling that same sensation in her ass.
“Oh God” she repeated as her ass began to plump out and grow larger, accentuating her curves more and more.
Sierra was frightened and panicking by herself in the woman’s restroom at the station “What am I going to do…what am I going to do?” she kept asking herself as her body continued to change on her. Her hips and waist narrowed and her rear was shrinking now like her breasts had just done.
“I’m getting even skinnier!” she said feeling the flesh disappear behind her. Her skirt though didn’t sag or droop; it kept tight against her changing body even as she felt her panties shift and pull up tight against her smaller cheeks.
With a hard swallow, Sierra jerked forward and grabbed the sides of the sink as she felt her genitalia begin to move and change “Oh God No!” she murmured between gasps of breath. As much as she was scarred and confused, her body was sending pleasure signals through her as her clitoris and vagina reshaped and changed.
Sierra ran a hand down her chest between her breasts as sweat broke out all over her. It quickly passed and she was able to stand back up straight as she caught her breath, her shoulders jerking and her hearty pounding.
She looked down at her legs, bare against the tight black skirt and saw her skin tone lighten and her legs trim and get thinner.
Sierra bent at the waist and put her hands on her knees even as the changes raced down her legs, reshaping them into someone else’s. “No! Make it stop!” she said as she punched the bottom of her thighs just above her knees.
Sierra watched as the last of her body drained away as she saw the color of her skin lighten down the tops of her feet. She felt her toes shift inside her heels and she slowly slid her right foot out revealing different shaped toes topped off with red nail polish.
She was going back and forth between staring down at her body and staring at her reflection in the mirror. She nearly jumped out of her skin as the door swung open behind her “AH!” she screamed in a voice that sounded different.
“AH! Holy Shit Sierra; what the hell are you screaming about in here?”
Sierra recognized her producer and friend Amy standing there. “What do you mean what am I screaming about in here? Look at me?!”
Amy looked worried and squinted “What exactly am I looking at?” she said slowly and a bit confused. “What’s all the fuss about?”
Sierra was absolutely shocked “What are you talking about Amy? Hello! I LOOK TOTALLY DIFFERENT THAN I DID FIVE MINUTES AGO!” she screamed.
“What are you talking about? Are you feeling okay Sierra?” Amy said coming up close and putting a hand on her shoulder. “If you’re sick or something, we can skip your stand up next segment and you can go home”
“What?” Sierra was now more confused than ever; not only had her body and face totally changed but her friend didn’t even acknowledge that it had happened “Am I going insane?” she said.
“Come on back to your desk…you need to sit down Sierra” Amy said leading her out of the bathroom.
The other people in the newsroom watched her get led back but no one was looking at her as a stranger; they were simply concerned that it looked like she was ill.
“Are you feeling okay Sierra?” another reporter named Julie asked her.
“Do you need some water?” another named Jake asked her.
“Why isn’t everyone freaking out right now about how I look?” she thought as she walked wordlessly to her desk. She sat down hard and looked around. A picture pined to her cubicle wall caught her attention immediately.
“No Shit…no this can’t be” she said ripping it away from the push pin that kept it up. The picture of was the time she interviewed President Obama when he had been in town. It was her smiling with the President’s arm around her shoulder; but now President Obama had his arm around a woman with short blonde hair and the face she was just beginning to learn.
“I’m going to get you a bottle of water” Amy said.
Jake and Julie huddled nearby watching her too. They said nothing but had concerned looks on their faces.
Sierra bumped the mouse for her computer and her homepage came up catching her attention.
It was the homepage for Channel 10 News with a banner on top saying ‘Join us every weekday at 5 and 6 with anchors Ted Mitchell and Emily Hart along with weather from Mark Donaldson and featured reports by Emmy award winning reporter Sierra Stephens’ All four of them were standing with their arms folded and it took her breath away anew when she saw the woman on the far right was the blonde with the short hair and thin build.
Maureen squeezed her more abundant ass cheeks as her thighs now began to round and change shape too. They filled out more curvaceous from the thin legs she was used to. Her skin continued to darken as the changes went down over her knees and calves and down to her feet.
As she watched her legs change, she suddenly jerked forward “Oh God” she whispered.
“What is it?” Todd asked coming closer but not touching her.
“Oh God” she said louder this time. Her clitoris had just lifted and shifted and her vagina was on the move as well. Her shoulders tensed and locked and she went ramrod straight “Oh God!”
Her hand went to the front of her shorts and pressed down hard. Even through her shorts and underwear she could feel her body changing. “Holy Shit!” she yelled.
“What is it?!” Todd asked again.
“Fuck me…my vagina just changed and it’s the weirdest thing I’ve felt yet” she said.
Her body began to calm back down some and she took several deep breaths and looked down to the ground.
She lifted up her toes as they began to change shape. “Whoa” she said as her toes got smaller and her red nail polish faded away leaving clear nails behind. The size of her feet didn’t appear to change but their overall appearance certainly did.
“Honey” Todd said in almost a whisper.
Maureen looked up with a scarred expression on her face “What?”
“Are you okay?” he asked.
“I don’t know…I don’t have any idea of what just happened to me…I look…” Maureen said as she clutched her throat “Shit I even sound different too”
Fear bubbled up to the surface as she spun back to the mirror. Her eyes narrowed some in faint recognition before Todd confirmed her thought by saying “Honey…you look like Sierra Stephens”
Maureen’s hand went to her mouth in a flash as she now recognized it too. She looked plainer without any makeup and her hair not done but she saw it. “Holy shit I do!”
She took a step back and looked down at her body “We were just talking about her when the lights flickered and then…and then…” she looked back into the mirror “…I TURNED INTO HER!”
Todd came forward as Maureen threw herself into his arms and his embrace “What are we going to do?” she asked.
Sierra was in shock at her situation and her surroundings. She saw Ted Mitchell walking towards her desk with a friendly smile “Hey Sierra…I heard you’re not feeling so good”
“I…” she shook her head. “I don’t know how I feel”
Ted smiled and said “Just get through the stand up and go home and get some rest” he said as Amy brought her some water.
Sierra cracked it open and took a sip “It’s like I’m living in some weird dream” she though as she stood up. Without a word but with a slight smile, she nodded and walked to the studio floor with Ted and Amy.
She stood on her mark and heard Ted begin to talk about the accident she had covered that morning. She was more nervous than she had ever been giving a report on camera when she saw the floor director give her the cue to begin reading. Her voice sounded so different as she began “Yes Ted, it was definitely a nightmare for anyone travelling northbound on I-1O this morning as a multi vehicle accident closed down the highway for nearly an hour during rush hour this morning”
“And we’re clear…” the director said as the report played on the monitor. Sierra exhaled and tried to calm down as she waited for the story to wrap and come back to her for her throwback.
When the story wrapped, Sierra smiled and simply said “Back to you Ted”
“Thank You Sierra…and now in national news…”
Sierra walked slowly off set and back to her desk.
“It’s okay” Amy told her “You’re obviously not feeling up to par…go home and rest”
“Yeah…okay” Sierra mumbled as she walk trancelike back into the newsroom.
Todd was clutching to his wife as tightly as he could. He was resting his chin on her shoulder with his eyes closed trying to comfort her. He opened his eyes to a new level of confusion.
Todd stared at the top of the dresser. There was a framed picture from their wedding that sat there and as he looked at it, he couldn’t believe his eyes. His stomach dropped to a new level as he said “Nat…you’ve got to look at this”
She broke their embrace “What is it?”
He turned her by taking her shoulders “Look at our wedding photo”
Maureen focused on it “No…that can’t be” she said as she rushed forward and grabbed it taking a closer look. “What’s going on?!” she said as she began to cry.
The wedding picture showed Todd standing in their church in his tuxedo with Maureen standing in front of him looking up into his eyes in her wedding dress, but now Maureen in the picture had the black hair and the face and body that Maureen had just received.
“But if I look like this…then…” Maureen said just before bolting to the living room. The news was on commercial but when it came back on “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!”
Maureen screamed long and loud at the sight on the TV. There, in a pink sleeveless top, black skirt and black heels was her body with the caption ‘Sierra Stephens’ under it.
