Gene Cream is pretty much what it says on the tin - a topically applied genetic goop that can alter your appearance for a short period of time. As part of an advertising tie-in, moviegoers to Avatar 3 were given a tie-in bottle of Gene Cream, intended to transform them for around 4 hours.

Normally this is just relatively minor changes in skin tone or hair color, but the genetic engineering was rather more ambitious for the Avatar tie-in. Attempting to turn a human into a 8 foot tall blue-humanoid had never been tried before and the product was urgently recalled after the physical alterations refused to wear off for several moviegoers.
