I have studied the cryptids known as the Organelles for much of my professional life, and all of my unprofessional life too, ever since TFPD thugs burnt my research and made me a laughing stock among the scientific community in the interest of 'truth containment'. I cannot believe that I now find myself working for these people.

The Organelles are truly fascinating creatures. Tragically misunderstood. Their attacks are not 'random', nor are the organs that they target. They form colonies of 2 to 15 members with complex communities beyond the ken of ordinary humans that underpin all that they do. Yes, they are as inscrutable as any feline, but they always act with a reason.

I could talk about them ad infinitum but, as I am aware the TFPD has less interest in their study and more in their control, I shall try to get to the point.

They are driven by the same drives that govern all animals. Survival and breeding. And to breed requires displays of strength and status. This is a central reason why these creatures hunt and augment themselves. Among their own kind, acquired organs are displayed proudly, much as a bluejay might show off a collection of shiny bottlecaps. The grafting of a particularly powerful or unique eye or leg or wing is the sign of a successful hunter and may win them many mates.

While they are perfectly capable of breeding among their own kind, that is not always the case. Specimens excluded from their colonies will attempt to create a viable mate and, somewhat more disturbingly, there is a subset of the Organelle population that has... what can only be described as a 'fetish' for human men, and will seek them out regardless. Perhaps they target us for our intelligence since the brain is often the only part left after they are done.

Once an Organelle has its eyes on a potential mate -typically a strong, healthy human male- it may stalk him for months, insinuating itself into its prey's daily life. It will wait until its victim is vulnerable and in the presence of women or female animals before subduing them all and beginning its work. It will harvest the finest organs from the females, using them to rebuild the body of the unfortunate man into the image of its ideal mate. This ideal may vary from outwardly completely human to completely animal, and anything in between. Whatever his final form, once rebuilt into a female, equipped with a womb and as many as a dozen ovaries, he is biologically capable of hosting the Organelle's offspring. Prodigiously so, by all accounts.

It is my understanding that the TFPD has a number of these former men in its care, recovered after or interrupted during their alterations. If I might be able to study them more closely, I may better understand how they are made into viable females, and perhaps create some sort of a counter.
