A group of human supremacists have claimed responsibility for the attack and abduction of Professor Charles Rowan yesterday. The attack occurred as the Professor was lecturing on his controversial publication, The Descent Of Mon, which proposes that humans are themselves an evolutionary offshoot of Pokémon, descended from some ancient "Primordial Eevee."

The theory of eeveelution was conceived after the mining of a vein of Evolution Stones on the Galavagos Islands capable of inducing Pokémon-like mutations in humans, and in a tragic twist of fate, it was with one of these stones that the group struck the Professor. As pandemonium engulfed the lecture hall, the attackers gained access to the stage, forcing the former man into a Pokéball. His current whereabouts are unknown.

Researchers, including, Professor Sycamore, have condemned the attack as an assault on scientific progress. “His work was on the cusp of bridging the gulf between humans and Pokémon, fostering a deeper understanding of our shared origins,” Sycamore stated. Religious groups, however, have condemned Rowan's research as inflammatory and dangerous, blurring the sacred distinction between Trainers and Pokémon by which we claim our rightful place.
