A slightly daft continuation of arguably the silliest episode of Star Trek, Threshhold. It always seemed a bit premature of Tuvok to presume the female was the Captain, and I was always slightly disappointed they didn't bring the Captain back in the body of Tom Paris.

First officer Chakotay's log, stardate 49373.4.

It has been a long week, starting with the successful breaking of the Transwarp Threshold by Tom Paris. The celebrations were shortlived, however. As a result of occupying all points of space-time simultaneously, Tom Paris underwent a forced evolution into a future stage of humanity, an acidichloride-breathing reptile. This creature then abducted and absconded with Captain Janeway at Warp 10. We tracked their shuttlecraft to a nearby planet, where we discovered Tom Paris had bred with the Captain, now both in the form of hyper-evolved newts.

Even by Starfleet standards, this is ridiculous. Truly, I have never felt so far from the bones of my ancestors.

Thankfully, traces of their human DNA remained and Tuvok identified the female as the Captain. Using anti-protons and injections of his original DNA, the Doctor was able to return Mister Paris to his original body. Remarkably, he appears none the worse for wear.

I am left with an ethical dilemma. The creature that is Captain Janeway is pregnant. Starfleet's mission has always been the discovery and protection of new life. I am sure the Captain would not wish me to revert her until she has given birth and so I have opted to leave her as she is for now.

In the meantime, as acting Captain, I am erasing all mention of this absurd event from the records, along with the Tuvix incident and the thing with the clown.
