"Visiting time ends in fifteen minutes," interjected one of the retirement home nurses politely. "We'll be putting our residents to bed soon. Do you need a hand helping your grandfather into bed?"

"It's okay, he's not heavy," Thomas replied.

His grandfather looked up from their game of Scrabble, blinking his crimson bleerily at the clock. He'd been lost in his stories as they played, talking endlessly about the old days while they played. "Oh. Is it that time already?" the man said bemusedly.

"Afraid so, Grandpa," Thomas said, beginning to pack the pieces away. "We can have a rematch next time."

Taking the handles of the wheelchair, he trundled the old man out of the visitor's area, passing other residents slumbering in their chairs. It was quite a sight for anyone who knew their 20th-century pop culture history. Heavenly Bodies Retirement Home was a who's who of Hollywood and fiction. In one corner snoozed several silver screen starlets in their prime, Greta Garbo and Hedy Lamarr, stunningly beautiful and elegant even with drool and food staining the front of their little black dresses. The nurses tended to their modesty, tucking their perky breasts back into their bras. In another corner were the younger crowd - two Scarlett Johanssons and a convincing Brie Larson.

Because if you had to molder away in old age, why would you not do so as the women you'd lusted after in your youth? That was the service Heavenly Bodies Retirement Home offered. Upon arrival, their male residents would be given an intensive surgical overall, cosmetically transforming them into their desired bodies.

It was an arrangement that worked for both parties. The nurses liked it because the synthskin replacement was far more durable, and less prone to bruising than the tissue-thin old people skin, plus the titanium joint replacements that often formed a part of the surgery were less prone to breaking, especially when cushioned by the plumpness of the patient's new posteriors. And the residents liked it because, well, age crept up on everyone, and many recognized more of themselves in those youthful fakeries than their own decaying bodies.

And old men were still men after all. Thomas blushed almost a deeper red than his grandfather whenever he heard stories of what some residents got up to together behind the scenes. There were worse ways to spend one's last years than a giant lesbian orgy, he supposed.

A Lara Croft gave them a cheery 'hullo' as they passed, before breaking into a hacking, phlemmy cough. Lara Croft, or Leonard as she was known, was a retired colonel who sometimes joined Thomas and his grandfather in games of backgammon.

"So you'll come back next week?" grandpa asked eagerly. "I thought you might drive us to the movies? I'll pay for the tickets of course. My treat."

"Oh no. Not after last time," Thomas said dryly, glancing down at the vibrant, fleshy headtails where the bald, liver-spotted patte had once been. "You've seen enough movies for one lifetime."

"But I thought you liked Star Wars?" Grandpa replied sweetly. "With all those pretty slave girls..." he said softly, stretching one dainty red leg off the wheelchair footplate, jingling the gold fetters on his slender ankle. Along with the surgery, the retirement home supplied appropriate clothing for its residents, and the man was wearing the loose cotton rags and steel collar of a slave. A pair of ornate silver discs covered his areola, just almost wide enough to protect his modesty.

"I did like Star Wars." Thomas said through gritted teeth. "I just don't want you getting any more ideas from it. Ifwe go watch it, what then? Are you're going toask to be turned into... Rey or something?"

"... Is she the pretty English girl?" his grandfather enquired innocently, turning to look at him. "Like her, do you?"

"I know what you're doing," Thomas said bluntly.

"Haven't the foggiest idea what you're talking about."

"I enjoy seeing you, grandpa," Thomas replied in exasperation. "You didn't have to turn yourself into this just to get me to visit more."

"Never heard such rot in my life," the old man scoffed with unconvincing indignation. "I've always been a big fan of those Twi... Twi..."

"Twi'leks."

"-Twi'leks, exactly."

They arrived at the man's room. Thomas parked the chair beside the bed and hoisted the slave girl into his arms.

"Why don't you visit on the Friday?" the old man purred enticingly. "You can join me for aquarobics?"

Thomas simply shuddered.
