A bit of a request from Femtedd. although I'm not sure it fits the request, so will keep working on it.
It was a frosty midwinter evening when Professor Oak found himself poring over his notes. As the winter solstice drew near, the Ivysaurs of the forest would conduct their ritual for the new year, fertilizing the seeds that enter into symbiosis with the next year's newborns. That was the assumption, at least. No trainer or scientist or any human eye had ever witnessed the sacred event, let alone gathered samples. But they had witnessed the aftermath - the decimated glades littered with trees torn up from the animalistic mating frenzy of the tank-like males.
Oak adjusted his glasses, pulling a sealed crate closer. Inside lay an intricate suit, crafted with painstaking detail. He'd consulted with Nurse Joy in the creation of something that would attract as little attention from the animals. The outer layer was a verdant green, complete with darker blueish patterns that mimicked the natural markings. His eyes studied the fertile bulbosity of the hind-quarters and back-mounted bulb. Oak hesitated for only a moment before unzipping the suit and undressing in the cold laboratory.
With a huff, he stepped into the legs of the leotard, the rubber material clinging snugly to his skin. “This is... tighter than I expected,” he muttered, wiggling slightly to fit it around his crotch. The material was stretchy but firm, molding to his form. He paused to catch his breath before tugging it further up, sliding his arms into the sleeves. The most awkward part was the bulb. It was created to sling over his back like a backpack, to receive and store the gallons of pollens the Ivysaur could put out when mating, but aligning the straps and fastenings when so tightly encased was easier said than done. His rubbery form jiggled as he twisted and turned to fix the faux plant structure and sat comfortably on his back. A faint, earthy scent emanated from the bulb, as it began to emit its payload of pheromones.
Finally, Oak reached for the headpiece. It resembled a Bulbasaur’s face, with expressive eyes that blinked and moved, controlled by subtle mechanisms within the suit. With some effort, he slid it over his head, adjusting it until it fit snugly. The laboratory lights filtered green through the glossy surface of the suit's eyes, as he turned to inspect himself in a full-length mirror. "Perfect," he said, his voice modified into a delighted 'Bulbasaur' by the mask.
The darkest night of the year had enveloped Pallet Town as he slipped out the backdoor, dropping onto his hands and knees as he ambled cautiously towards the treeline. While the townsfolk enjoyed their festive celebrations in the warmth of their homes, the Ivysaurs would already be gathering deep in the woods for their dominance displays, competing brutally to absorb the dwindling energy of the sun. Oak’s heart pounded. In the distance, came the terrifying rending of trees and animalistic roars.
