Sorry for no upload yesterday, I got stuck trying to do something for the 1,000 caption. So I'll call this one officially #1,001 and upload #1,000 if and when I get it working. Unfortunately this one is a bit janky and niche but it's the only one I had finished :P

In the meantime, just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has read, favourited, commented on or subscribed to the captions over the last year or so 🥰 I appreciate all of them and it keeps me going. Always makes me happy to know some people enjoy these things

Life continues on DS9 much as it always has, with one exception. Kira Nerys, one of my commanding officers, has in recent months been dating the station's security chief. Normally such a relationship would overstep regulations but their tenuous affiliation with Starfleet has made it difficult for me to object. This station is a home as much as it is a Starfleet vessel, and they're entitled to their private lives. Besides, it was nice to see Odo attempting to emulate a smile for a change.

Unfortunately, the arrival of one Vedek Bareil on the station has thrown a hyperspanner into the works. Nerys has broken off the relationship with Odo and it would be an understatement to say the man is taking it badly.

Odo has become a fixture of Quark's bar. Quite literally, having on several occasions installed himself into the wall of the men's bathroom as some sort of auto-fellating machine. He is experimenting with the female form in ways he was not doing prior. By all accounts, this began a week ago with a very public makeout session with Morn. After he left to a flop house with three Nausicaan men. The day after, he concealed himself as a barstool, except for his mouth, which he used to pleasure a Klingon warrior beneath the Dabo table.

He has even been caught using his security override to enter the holosuites while in use, inserting himself into the roles of holocharacters to engage in all manner of lascivious sex acts with the male clientele without their knowledge or consent, only realising when they get to the climax of their holonovels and discover that the holographic Orion slave girl they were just plowing refuses to deactive, and is still lying there, begging for more.

These complaints originate from Quark, so should be taken with a pinch of salt. He objects that "Odo doesn't even drink while he's here. He's just taking up a stool, costing me latinum", even though foot traffic has doubled in the bar since. If I didn't know any better I'd swear Quark was concerned for our security chief. A concern I share.

The Changelings are capable of a physical intimacy that we solids can only guess at. Despite his taciturn nature, Odo must miss the intimacy of the Great Link on some subconscious level and his bond with Nerys was likely a surrogate for it - for her to break it off must have been like tearing off his arm. He is clearly in pain, either acting out to cause Nerys embarrassment with these very public displays, or attempting to simulate his own Great Link via the sharing of fluids with every male organism from here to the Gamma Quadrant. Who knows what is in the mind of a Changeling? I never thought I'd wish Lwaxana was back on the station.

The thing is, it hasn't affected his work in the slightest. At 08:59 station time, Odo was seen fellating a dockworker in the turbolift, only to haul the man down to the holding cells for public indecency at 09:00 immediately upon starting his shift as security chief.

I'm unsure how to proceed. I think I'll take the man off active duty for now. Perhaps his time would be best spent helping around the medical bay. Although I'm sorely tempted to take him into my personal service. A secretary perhaps. Someone to take the Captain's log personally.
