Chief Complaint:

Severe trauma to limbs resulting from explosive injury caused by ignition of hazardous materials in the patient’s vehicle.

Incident Summary:

Patient is unknown, presumed to be an out-of-towner visiting on a hunting trip. He was witnessed by locals driving down from the woods into the gas station, where he proudly hauled his trophy - a young doe- off the back of his flatbed truck for all to see. After posing with his catch, he turned to leave, tossing his lit cigarette into the back of his flatbed as he did, whereupon the canisters of propane and boxes of rifle ammunition stored within ignited. The explosion eviscerated all four limbs and caused irreversible damage to the lower abdomen. The patient was rushed to hospital.

Had we waited for a delivery of suitable graft tissue from the nearest city hospital, the patient would surely have bled out. As such, due to the extensive nature of the injuries, the decision was made to use xenograft tissue salvaged from the scene, with implied consent from the comatose patient. The doe's fore and hindlegs were cleaned and harvested and gene-treated for xenocompatability, and the shredded remains of John Doe's limbs fully amputated, along with pelvis, genitals, bladder, and several feet of small intestine. Xenograft material was fixed in its place. Patient rendered into medical coma while he heals.

On examination, his human vitals have stabilized. That being said, I am only a doctor. I advise keeping him sedated until we get a vet out here to examine his other half to ensure it is recovering as well as the rest of him.
