Part One:

Part Two:

Golden sun. A warm breeze. Your tail swishes pleasantly through the sand. A bottle of chilled wine rests between your legs, half-empty, the other half flowing pleasantly through your veins. You've lost track of time. One pleasurable sensation blurs into the next. Like an animal, you sleep whenever you're tired, eat whenever you're hungry, with little care for the coming and going of the humans on the beach.

Perhaps this holiday isn't so bad after all.

"There you are! We've been searching all over for you."

You look up to see your wife standing above you. Your sensitive nocturnal eyes squint against the sun to make out the bulky male silhouette beside her. Something about his smell makes the hairs stand up on the back of your... everything.

"So I've got good news and bad news, sweetie," she says. "The good news is WereAir customer services called me up. They found your lost DNA! It had rolled around in the storage hold. I collected it from the airport days ago."

She pulls a small glass syringe from the pocket of her shorts. It is the DNA storage device that holds your humanity and precious Y-chromosomes within a genetic soup, extracted when the airline shrank you for transport. The syringe is empty. That snaps you fully awake.

"The bad news is that I had no idea where you'd gone!" your wife scolds you. "You've been missing from the hotel for days! The authorities just laughed when I tried to report a missing cat. I thought you might have wandered away, and got into trouble - you know how confused cats get in strange places. Do you mean to tell me you've just been down at the beach, drinking yourself stupid all this time? And you didn't even think to tell me?"

She huffs indignantly, cuddling closer to the muscular figure.

"Thankfully I found her wandering the streets," she explains. "At least she is a little more dependable than you are. She was just a mangy mutt, a stray. But I figured what better animal to find a cat than a dog, right? Except she was untrained and I needed a way to make her understand what I wanted, so..." She looks at the empty vial. "I had no idea if it was safe but I had no other choice. And it worked! You wouldn't believe how quickly she learned after I injected her with your humanity. She's almost as smart as you were. Better, she actually does what I tell her to," she giggles. "And she knows exactly what I needed, don't you, girl?"

The canine man gives a deep growl, his clawed hand sliding around your wife's waist, pulling her closer. She gasps as his fingers squeeze her ass. She furrows her brow in puzzlement. "I forget, was that the good news or the bad news?" she murmurs. "I'm sure WereAir can get this straightened out once I tell them. But in the meantime, I promised this mutt a reward if she helped me find you. And there are so many things that she's excited to see and do as a human. You don't mind her taking your place for a few nights, do you?"
