Felinoid Unknown Retrovirus: FUR-27 2/2 by Transviscera

It can be confirmed that a strain of Felinoid Unknown Retrovirus-27 has emerged with the capacity to infect both men and women. This appears to rapidly becoming the dominant strain in circulation outside of Madagascar. In addition to inducing the development of feline traits, this strain may cause partial or total feminization of secondary sexual characteristics.

Furthermore, while female infected may enter states of catlike lethargy, male infected are more likely to be active and ambulatory. In a minority of cases (~35%), males in the later stage of infection that display physical alterations have been observed entering a state of heightened agitation and attempting to engage in activities equivalent to feline mating behaviors.

These infected become highly mobile, actively hunting out uninfected males, and aggressively attempting to incapacitate them. Witnesses describe these attacks as frenzied, even feral, and infected have already overwhelmed several centers of treatment. Militaries are establishing fortified safe zones, and men are warned not to travel alone, particularly at night or late evenings when the infected are most active. Due to the heightened risk of transmission these attacks carry, we advise subduing with tranquilizing rifles from range as a first resort.

Where such deterrents are unavailable, it has been observed that a single uninfected male (or a male who has previously been infected but displays no alterations) can occupy the attention of up to four infected males at a time, after which they will enter a period of placid semi-lucidity. The WHO is recruiting teams of previously infected, immune men to help conduct delaying actions intended to stem the advance of these roving disease vectors.

Cases have now been recorded as far North as Khartoum. The Egyptian government has issued a warning that they will open fire on anyone attempting to cross their southern border.
