Thank you again for feeding Oscar while we're away. Help yourself to what's in the cookie jar and any food in the pantry.

You'll be relieved to hear your grandfather is much recovered, though it was very much touch and go for a while. We won't be underestimating the heat in this country in future. The nice doctors at the hospital put him on IV fluids for the sun stroke. They weren't impressed at us for getting caught out in the open like a couple of silly tourists, that's for sure!

But the sunburn! Oh, the sunburn! You've never seen anything like it! Poor Dennis' skin was peeling off like a banana! So gallant of him to let me use the last drops of sun cream. He was just a mess of blisters all over his body. They said if something drastic wasn't done, he was likely to die! Of course I agreed to whatever they asked - not that I understood a word they were saying. Well they went to work immediately chopping all the dead skin off. It was so awful, I just passed out! When I came to, he was all wrapped up like an Egyptian mummy!

You should see him, grandson. Did you know they have this thing called SynthSkin now? Except the hospital in Cairo only had a limited supply. He's so beautiful! Such wonderfully smooth skin. And those lips! Oh my stars, so exotic. Like some Princess out of Arabian Nights!

I've quite the competition for his affections. The local men are besotted. He's had three marriage proposals already today! I can't blame them. I rather think I'll keep him like this. Margaret down the road will have a lot to gossip about when she sees me return home with my beautiful new wife! I can't wait to show him off to you! I think you'll have quite the crush on him yourself. Hahaha. Just joking, dear!

All being well, we fly home Thursday. Praying some young man doesn't sweep him off his feet, of course!
