To his horror, Thor found himself shrinking as the years fell away. She loomed over him, her eyes burning.
"A woman was too generous. You'll learn your place as a girl, perhaps. Or a toddler? An adorable little baby?" Phoenix cooed. "My power is infinite - I can keep you however I wish for as long as I wish. But even that won't break the will of a god like you..."
The Phoenix smiled as if about to bestow a great gift. "I know! I'll make you my unborn child. A few millenia as a fetus in my belly with nothing to listen to but my heartbeat - then you'll understand my love for you. Or a million years as a cluster of cells... Or perhaps an ovum waiting to be fertilised."
His field of vision was rapidly dwindling below the level of her chest, as he began to progress backwards through his teenage years. Her words filled him with horror. In self-preservation, he threw away his warrior pride, wrapping his arms around her waist in a tight hug.
"I love you, mommy!"
Phoenix smiled maternally, hugging her young daughter back. "That's better. Now you be a good girl for my host, okay?"
"Yes, mommy," Thor smiled.
The fire faded from Natasha's eyes. She blinked, regaining her control once more, staring down at the girl now wrapped about her legs. They exchanged a silent look of concealed terror, neither daring to break the roleplay, knowing their fate was in the hands of a capricious goddess.
