Circe watched the snail slip through the gaps in the hammock. It's dwindling limbs had vanished into its shapeless body by the time it had landed in the dirt, its suit and parts of its body twisting around into the spiral shell on its back.
"Fastest man alive, huh?"
Circe crouched over it, her laughter booming like thunder in its ears in the moments before those organs were gone. It's eyes bulged from its head and then... *pop* pop* emerged on stalks. She prodded one of them, watched it retract into its head.
It was perhaps, at least, the fastest snail alive. Not that that amounted to much. It squirmed and pulsated its disgusting body on its trail of mucus, the slime glowing with the sheer amount of the Speed Force it was channelling, as it affecting a snail-sprint between her feet and towards the house. Perhaps it was trying to run for help.
She watched it for an hour. In all that time, it had moved a metre. She picked it up, and returned it to precisely where it started, and watched it for another hour.
"I'd love to do this all day, but I'm afraid I've the rest of your Justice League friends to take care of," she sneered, raising her foot. As the shadow fell across the tiny gastropod, its eyestalks turned upwards and it shrank back into its shell. "It's nice to see a man who knows his place. Under my boot..."
