“Huh? So you need an art project? Why would I help you there?” Julia Gomez glared at her little sister who can only give those puppy dog eyes. “Why weren’t you able to do it?”
Julie Gomez always relied on looking adorable to try to get her way with everyone. Too bad it doesn’t work on the family and especially on Julia, who simply scoffed.
“Because I was lazy~”
Yup. It wasn’t doing this lazy girl any favors.
Hard work yields great results. If there was anyone who did just that, it was Julia. She worked hard to get into a good University. She worked hard to get into a good office internship. She worked hard throughout her life as a magical girl. It had always given her everything she desired, plus an extreme amount of stress. It was amazing her brown hair hasn't turned white yet (then again turning to a magical girl form does turn it to bright aqua so maybe that counts). Her healthy attractive (self-proclaimed) body was also thanks to her health habits and ensuring she always ate well and exercised properly. An epitome of keeping one’s body in a great shape.
Her slacker of a little sister on the other hand was the antithesis to her system and had been a source of arguments between the two. Well, one-sided arguments like this.
Julie might be a student and also a magical girl but her ambition was questionable at most. Maybe she worked hard in a different way. Julia had never seen anyone be able to find a way to perfectly balance partying, clubbing, handling cosplay costumes, go to school (and barely pass), and also still deal with the occasional monsters as a magical girl (Again the bare minimum and too many monsters have escaped Julie’s grasp). Either way her outfit was more casual and partygoer style in comparison to Julia’s strict and clean uniforms and so.
Despite that, both of them, Magical Azure and Magical Sapphire, were well-liked by both the citizens of the city they defend. They were also equally popular in a different sense. Though many would complain about Julia’s anger issues and Julie’s lackadaisy approach to life.
“You should've worked on it long ago,”
“But I want to be authentic~”
“Haven’t you always used magic to get what you want?”
“Truuuuuue.”
“Then just do your own thing and stop bothering me.”
The pouting little sister finally went quiet and Julia sighed in relief, continuing to tap on her laptop.
…
Wait.
Her chaotic gremlin little sister had become quiet. That was an impossibility in of itself. Not even their mother going furious and threatening to bring the apocalypse down on their city was enough to stop sending Julie from ever doing anything silly. The prelude this sets up to is usually….
Julia spun around already manifesting her magical staff. She was already glowing brightly with color, feeling the surge of mana fill her body.
It was too late.
Her little sister had her staff pointed with an excited smile. There was a bright flash of light that encompassed her completely alongside the sheer mana from the only other person in the room. If this hit her as a human, she would be at the whims of her little sister. Attacks like these from monsters and witches are abundant. But if one were to even transform into a magical girl or initiate the changing phase, she would resist the transmutative abilities of this power.
IF her little sister wasn’t a prodigious one of a kind magical girl.
“Great idea sis~” Her little sister’s eyes weren't just showing mischief. It was the embodiment of it.
Julia really messed up.

“Behold my volcano~!”
Julie Gomez stood by the display table to a large audience who were marveling in awe.
To be fair, it really was quite something. The mountain range she had procured for this subject was massive. It was likely bigger than a person. There were four giant volcanoes in total, shaped in quite a precarious way. Two on the northern side, and two on the southern side. Numerous other mountains littered the area in a way that one might consider a maiden lying down. With a lot of variety of details such as tiny houses, forests, roads, animals, and so on. Some of them were even moving on their own. For a miniature volcano, it really wasn’t so small. It was such a grand scale.
“Wow… Big.”
“Hey it kinda looks like… a person?”
“? How?”
“I mean… doesn’t it kinda look like… boobs?”
“... Fucking perv.”
“So what’s this thing called?”
Questions and whispers were repeated.
Many were expecting Julie to not have anything prepared at all. Some of the more… ‘questionable’ thoughts had some merit. The ‘humanoid’ volcano did have some noticeable strangeness. Such as the ‘snow’ section of the two mountains looking distinctly like areolaes if one were to peer. The ‘head’ section were littered with houses that almost look like they were patterned to be an angry woman with a strange hairdo. One half being a more similar brown to the world, while the other half was a more bright aqua. To some who knew Julie well, they might think that the volcano almost looked like her…
But the target didn’t mind too much.
The friendly College student simply giggled and waited for there to be a lull. With an exuberant smile she spun the table with the volcano, scattering the smoke that was fuming from two of the mountains.
“I know you have many questions but I have a dynamic historical plate over here!! It’ll tell you everything you need to know about the setting!! It’s a bit glitchy though since I just made it earlier!”
True to her words, a detailed digital nameplate stylized to look like a museum piece hovered below.
<Mt magicalgirlazure
It is a natural wonder that many would call magical. With the tumultuous volcanos always erupting from the sheer anger, one could almost imagine an angry individual roaring. Akin to someone shouting “JULIE I AM GOING TO KILL YOU!! I AM GOING TO RIP YOU APART!! IF YOU DO THIS TO ME I AM GOING TO ERUPT!” Such strange phases were attributed to the ghosts of the lands here. From the city of Julia that was completely eradicated. In those ruins, one can even find some archaic texts from past citizens. One particularly well known phrase was “JULIE!?!? THIS ISN’T FUNNY ANYMORE!! IF YOU TAMPER WITH MY HEAD I DON’T KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN!”>
“Super interesting right~!” Julie waved her fingers as she pushed the mobile volcano a bit close to watchers.
Despite the questionable history and lore of this volcano, many were either bored or simple waited for the inevitable eruption. None paid too much mind to the other strangely bolded
“WAIT NO DON’T LISTEN TO HER!”
“I’M REAL!! I REALLY AM!!”
“DONT LET HER DO THIS TO ME!”
“YOU FUCKING IDIOTS!”
And so on.
Apathy and boredom were spread out.
Until Julie held a strange tool. Some sort of magical scepter that one would see from a magical girl show. Except it was completely made out of baking soda. One bit of it that crumbled onto the volcanoes caused some sort of reaction. With twinkling eyes Julie pushed it closer, as if prepared to snap it into two!
“Are you all ready?! : D”
“JULIE STOP!!!”
“”””Gooooo!””””
“””Yeaaah…””””
“IF YOU BREAK THAT I CAN’T GATHER MA-”
“Alrighty~”
CRACK!!
And the two were shoved into the massive mammary-esque mountains.
There was silence.
Then it rumbled. The whole thing shaking repeatedly and with Julie crouching beside it with a squeal of excitement and fear. Others stepped back too as they almost thought the floor itself shook. But soon enough the volcanoes erupted in a scarily realistic manner. Though unlike red lava, it actually released a stream of white. Though it was hard to say if it was baking soda or something more akin to milk. Or perhaps even both? Either way one cannot deny the swift destruction received by the lands all about. Forests that were made to imitate clothing and highways that look like zippers for pants were disintegrated. The flood began to wash everything down and would soon cover the face of the area.
“JULIE YOU DAMN BIT-”
The white covered all and soon enough, the area became less like a humanoid body, but more like a simple flat land of white. The city of Julia was eradicated by the sea of white and soon there was nothing. Even the display plate had become eerily non-responsive.
The crowd’s impressed sounds filled the quietness soon after, with some turning off their phones after that display.
Julie simply giggled as she dusted off the remnants of the magical dust scepter into the abyss.
“Soooo~?” Julie’s starry eyed stared forward. “What do you all think? Was it fun? Should I do more stuff like thaaaat?”
She asked the audience, eager to do more.
Either way, she won the contest!
But within a month the experiment would be soon forgotten.
The entirety of the project would be scrapped into some trash bin to be disregarded.
