“That was a strange dream,”

Yor sighed as she walked by a classroom. Usually she’d be concerned about remaining hidden but today she can get by. There were only a few cameras here that she could easily avoid and there wasn’t even a security group protecting her target. Even if she were to use a disguise it would be unnecessary since the quality of safety for this school was very shoddy. All in all, an easy to handle mission.

Especially since she’s so distracted by what happened recently.

Yor looked at the watch that was handed to her.

It was exactly the same as it was in her dream. A device that would allow her to disguise herself as anything possible. A marvel in Science and specifically handed to her to be tested out. Not that it was necessary if she were to go killing targets. But the one behind it was really eager for her to test the device. It coincided well with her desire to avoid unnecessary killing for this mission but still… Even with a spotty nightmare, there were too many things similar.

“From his glasses and mustache… To the design of this… all the way to Miss Anya and Bond accidentally breaking that window… But still isn’t it a bit silly to imagine me being stuck as those inflatable tubes haha…”

It was a weird dream and there really was nothing else to it.

Still. Yor picked a different target from her original goal.

Instead of going for the Maintenance Manager, James Connaway she instead opted for this one. Kindergarten Teacher, Amelia Elmore. Though both were seemingly innocuous targets, they were associated with some more unsavory individuals and had their own share of past crimes. So here was Yor, already silently entering the classroom of her target. A seemingly innocent pudgy woman humming as she read through a binder. No doubt blending in just like her. An assassin must always be on guard. So seeing her vulnerable like this was too much of an opportunity.

Slowly Yor pulled her needle and raised it-

SLAM

""""YAAAAY!""""

A torrent of kids arrived.

There wasn’t even a flash as the auto-disguise activated before Yor can even stop it. She could only let out a yelp as she fell onto the table, feeling as if she was just electrocuted. A quick feeling akin to poking your finger into an electrical socket was followed by a sensation of being folded in numerous places. Her own body collapsing in of itself happened in a mere instant. Teacher Amelia turned around when she heard that sound, but there was no assassin hovering over her.

Instead, a black red white origami fell onto the desk of hers. Its sudden arrival would have gone unnoticed and would be treated as nothing more than a small art and crafts project. But if one peered at this paper swan, they’d realize how similar the color matched Yor’s skin and outfit. Even her weapon also disguised itself, falling right beside her as nothing more than safety scissors with the same coloration. The startled eyes on the origami, also paper-like, would soon freeze up in an attempt to not be detected under Amelia’s gaze. But a frustrated sigh escaped her mentally.

“I… I should’ve been more focused… I wasn’t that distracted because of the dream was I??”

Still, it was an opportunity lost. The students, all in kindergarten, were all excitedly speaking amongst themselves. The volume would’ve likely covered up any noise Yor made if she wanted to. But to be discreet she won’t. She just had to wait a bit until the person was vulnerable again and no one else could see her!

“Now now children, let’s settle down! Don’t be too noisy!” Amelia’s booming voice silenced all the students. But kindness was clear as she continued to coax the students. “I know you’re all excited for show an tell but we must be behaved.”

“”””””Yes Miss Elmore!!””””””

"Mhhgggggh, I was so close! Fine! Once the class is over, we'll finally finish her off."

Yor waited patiently now.

There wasn’t much she could do after all. All she could do was watch all the students introduce themselves and the cherished belonging they want to share. It was honestly a warm environment that Yor wondered if Anya had something similar. It was such a nice class that she actually began to feel a sense of guilt at the idea of removing her from their lives. By the end of it, as she saw another cute piece of ornament, Yor considered withdrawing from this assignment and choosing a different target.

"Okay class~For our arts and crafts project we're going to make paper mache! So cut up some paper to use."

""""Okaaaaay!"""

Huh. Kids these days were doing that this early? Yor wondered if Anya would be doing the same. But since it’s an elite academy they might be doing something more. This place was a lot more low-end in comparison. Ah?

Yor blinked as she was picked up by a snotty but bright eyed girl.

"Wow! So pretty!!” Oh thank you~! Yor actually beamed at being called that. “Alright I'll use this!"

"... Eh?"

The kid held the Bird Origami Yor up with one hand, and safety scissors on the other.

The very same weapon she once had.

"EH!?!?!?"

snip snip

"EEEEEEEEEK!"

“Everyone did a great job today~! You’re all such fantastic students~!”

Amelia’s heartfelt praise received cheers from her many students. But there was one who didn’t agree with her line of thinking.

“Uuuu…. How am I going to turn back to normal…”

If her disguised form was warped in any way shape or form… How was she going to turn back to normal? She was unsure and afraid of what might happen now. But at least class was over. It was only a matter of time. She’ll cross that bridge when she gets there.

As of right now, she was merely a black, red, and white flower. More complicated than in her previous form. More patched up with clear signs of glue and scotch tape. Despite that, it came together as a beautiful piece. To the point that Amelia stopped by and tugged at the student.

“This one is so pretty!! It’s so perfect that we’re going to put it in a display case~”

“Really?! Hurrah!”

“Eh?”

Perhaps a part of Yor was exuberant at being called pretty or even perfect.

But that part was drowned out by the dread when she was placed on a display case in front of the art room.

“Ghhhh!!!! This is so embarrassing…. At least I can l---- is that a security camera?”

Coincidentally, this was one of the few spots that had a camera.

Either way, Yor could at least be proud that she would be the staple artpiece for decades to come here.

“I DON’T WANT TO BE A FLOWER I DON’T WANT TO BE A FLOWER I DON’T WANT TO BE A FLOWER!”

"What's wrong Anya?"

Anya Forger stared at the display case. For a moment she had allowed herself to be distracted by the sight of it. With a sigh, she adjusted her glasses and continued forward. Her fellow teacher following suit.

"It's nothing," Anya stated, glancing back one more time. "I thought I saw something weird."

It wasn't much really.

Just a worn down flower origami.

It reminded her of someone in the past. With its color scheme. A silly thing to remember someone by. Yet the colors were a perfect match. Red, Black, and white. If she were to even focus, she thought she'd heard a few voices here and there....

"IMAPERFECTFLOWERIMAPERFECTFLOWERIMAPERFECTFLOWER"

But sometimes objects can have some weird thoughts. It was nothing to focus on. Besides... she has a class to teach.

"Oh right. I was thinking of tossing out the old stuff on the display case..."

"I don't see why you shouldn't. They're old right?"

"Yup!"

"Just toss it in the garbage."
