Diana Rivera didn’t mind bodyguard missions.

Sometimes they’re annoying. Sometimes they’re good. It depends on your client and usually the amount paid to you was a good representative of what trouble you’d face. It was also a nice balance of either having to defend someone and just being lax. Usually she didn’t mind earning money through fighting others or from doing a delivery or whatever small time thing there is. A bit of a break depending on the person.

But the person was apparently quirky.

“Still… Hope they’re nice,”

The blonde woman sighed as she adjusted her cap and jacket. The weather was nice enough and winter was starting to wane. No more need for thermal pants which meant she had to adjust for the warmer weather. A bummer since she usually preferred to look like a handsome lad. Easier to hide her form and avoid unnecessary trouble. Yet it was still cold.

Every other person in the area moved with haste, ducking into buildings or into taxis. One large individual was over there wearing nothing but a shirt. Geez. Diana knew she could take the cold with just a shirt, but she had no intention to show off. Some guys are unbelievable though.

"Oh! There you are!"

Oh! The voice came from below. Right by her blindspot. Diana almost stumbled back in surprise but caught herself. Not a lot of people can do that… But a quick peek down revealed what looked to be a young girl, preteen most likely. An Indian lass with a bindi and a cap like a newsboy. Not to mention a pair of piercing green eyes under a pair of glasses.

Diana realized that this was the one she’s going to protect. Funny how they both had green eyes.

"Salutations!" The child beamed up at the woman as she offered her hand. A hand that seemed to be carrying a fancy business card. "Riyandi Desai, at your service! Er...guess you're at my service, huh?"

“Guess so,” Diana hesitantly accepted the card. She’s no stranger to babysitter missions but she wished her client was more clear on who she’s protecting. It’s not like she hates kids, but sometimes a word of notice was needed to be ready for dealing with either spoiled brats or over excited gremlins. Riyandi seems to be alright so far though. “I’m surprised you figured out that it was me.”

Then again didn’t the client said something about the bodyguard-ee would easily figure her out?

“Oh it was all elementary!”

Diana wondered if that was a quote Sherlock said or something made up by Riyandi.

“Since you’re the only one standing here alone and waiting at the designated meet up spot, then I deduced it was you!” Riyandi’s ever cheerful voice never wavered. In fact she looked quite proud finishing that deduction. “Every other stranger here moved with the intention to go anywhere else~!”

“And you thought it wasn’t that giant guy over there?” Diana said pointing by the side where a gruff man was.

“Nay~! That was my first check! But I deduced it was nothing more than a poster!”

“Huh?”

Diana glanced back… Huh.

She might not have looked carefully. There was indeed just a poster of a shirtless guy over there posing like a bodybuilder. Wasn’t she going to talk to him about why he was wearing a shirt too? Yeah no, that would’ve been embarrassing.

“Well, fair’s fair. Name’s Diana Rivera. Pleasure to meet you little boss who just saved me from an awkward situation.”

“Well met! But couldn’t you have also just went into a diner?”

“Eh, didn’t want to miss ya. Cute hat by the way. Reminds me of when I used to deliver papers back then,”

Such a compliment was enough to make Riyandi give a cocky grin as she adjusted her cap. "Hehe, makes me look pretty professional, huh~?" she hummed with a cat-like grin. "Though, I don't deliver papers. I deliver...TRUTH!"

Her exclamation was punctuated by the appearance of a magnifying glass flying from her pocket to her hand and up close to Diana's face. Seemed the girl had a flair for the dramatic, at least. Yup. This one was definitely quirky.

"I bet you're wondering why I hired ya, don't ya~?" Riyandi asked as she leaned in closer towards the woman on her tippy toes, continuing to view her through the lens of her magnifying glass. "It's because this is a dangerous line of work I'm in. You can never be too careful!"

Aw shucks. Ain't this little one just adorable?  Diana couldn't keep herself from giggling.

"I see! Well I guess I should really work hard to defend you from such dangerous people then," Diana gazed back at the magnifying glass. When was the last time she saw something like that? Probably just from a TV show. She slightly crouched, maybe subconsciously, so that Riyandi didn't have to tiptoe. "May I ask if you have any dangerous enemies? Something like a phantom thief or so?"

Diana glanced around, placing a hand over her forehead as if scanning the area seriously. There were some few bystanders nearby giving them some looks. One an old lady, one a highschooler just walking by, and another of a cat just on top of some stairway leading to a building.

She wasn’t going to bother them and was just going to let the little miss detective indulge herself a bit. But on the off side that she did have enemies well…

"I don't know if I do, honestly..." Riyandi admitted as she started peering around her with suspicious eyes. "This city, nay, THE WORLD is littered with deception. People pretending to be those they're not..."

The little detective hummed as she looked around at all the bystanders, eventually settling on the old lady. "Take her for example!" She shouted as she pointed at the woman. "Seems like an ordinary old lady, right? So helpless and fragile...but you can tell whenever someone is overplaying their part! And you know who really overplay their part? HIGH SCHOOL DRAMA STUDENTS!"

It was pretty flawless logic. To her, at least.

Not to everyone else maybe.

The old lady let out some confused ‘Excuse me’ and Diana hesitantly followed. When did Riyandi get there so fast? Well, hopefully the old lady would be kind enough to play along. She looked nice and friendly. But worst case scenario she'll pull away Riyandi. The old lady looked a bit bothered at the sudden approach of the child though she seemed to smile a bit, speaking raspily.

"Oh what an adorable detective you are. I'm definitely not a high school drama student hohoho,"

"I don't know about that. She makes for a mean case there 'granny' if we can call you that," Diana pointed accusingly. "A granny like you wouldn't have such a hip bag. Nor would she be carrying a backpack or holding a script. And----"

Diana had to blink her eyes as in her vision, the old grandma seemed to shift--- no. That would imply a change happened. It was more like something got caught in her eye and altered her view. Dust? Eyelash? Either way Diana cut herself off as she rubbed her eyes, while Riyandi began to finish what she said.

“Not only that but you’re walking quite greatly for the elderly~! You were quite imperfect weren’t you~!”

“Oh but honey.. I just hike a lot even today-”

“An excuse that’s overplayed~! There are no mountains here!!”

The moment Diana cleared her eyes and was now looking at the old woman again… She stepped back in surprise. Wait- that wasn’t an elderly at all. But rather a highschool student that had a really spot on disguise!! Although now that they were close, they could see the attempt at deception!!!

From the fake wrinkles and the makeup being much clear when viewed with scrutiny. Not to mention the wig being slightly tilted. Not to mention a grandma probably wouldn't have a very nice phone with a lot of pink accessories. Also a very energetic look and glare from the student as she growled.

"Ah!??! Dangit my disguise was perfect too!" The highschool student stomped with a huge. "The hel-I mean heck… I worked so hard on it."

"Ah-- wow Riyandi you really guessed right. How perceptive!" Diana stammered, trying to process what she just saw.

"That's my specialty~" Riyandi winked with her magnified eye before turning back to the would-be actor. "Apologies for blowing your spot, my eye is just specially trained for this kinda stuff, ya know? Few people are as consistently perceptive as me!"

"Eh, it's fine. But don't go ruining my disguise next time! I'm method acting kay kiddo? Weird... felt like I was gonna give you candy at first and visit my grandso-granddad... ah well! Shoo shoo!"

Oh, and just like that the drama student was beginning to recite her lines. Adjusting a very obvious and fake granny wig and hat. And Diana watched, pondering for a moment. Did she say grandson? …. Weird. It must be her really getting into character. Diana never really understood those. Though it felt like there was something more there. There was something seriously off about it.

“But you didn’t doubt her disguise at all didn’t you Diana?” Riyandi’s question brought her back. “I know you’re a bit confused but it’s very easy to be tricked by what you see!

She.

She does have a point.

“Well I blame being far and her disguise being very authentic alright?” Diana said, putting her arms up. No point arguing over that and felt like Riyandi might get annoyed if she just stood there thinking about it. She was tricked. That’s all there is to it… right?. “Anyway, that wasn’t an enemy though. But hmm… do you see anything else that’s more than meets the eye… over there?”

“Oh let’s see~!”

Riyandi hummed as she looked over to where Diana was pointing. A simple glance made them out to be a normal awkward high school kid. But she had to get a closer look. Really take in his profile before making any sort of judgments...

"?"

And boy was he generic. He couldn't be blander than bread. A really bland T-shirt that had some band logo. Shaggy black hair and loose pants. It was a feat of itself to even notice such a guy was here, and that may be attributed to the fact that the street wasn't so busy right now. Or maybe it was just Riyandi having eyes that could probably pick out a needle in a haystack. Or a specific needle in a needlestack.

"Er... Do you two need anything from me right now?..." The teenager seemed uncomfortable.

"Aha sorry we just need a bit of your time,” Diana lightly grabbed Riyandi’s arm. “I think he might not be too keen on playtime with us-”

“That might be what you see, my bodyguard!” Riyandi pressed the magnifying lens at Diana’s face. Okaaaay. “But if you look very closely… He’s looking very fidgety! As if he’s hiding something important like the deceiver that he is!”

“Ah! Well…” Staring at the nervous and annoyed teenager proved it… “He does seem to hide something in a very obvious and suspicious way. What a deceiver he is!”

"Deceiver?"

Even the teenager’s confused and annoyed tone didn’t stop Diana from making a cheeky grin.  And the grin was cheeky because Riyandi had the boy pegged already. Took a bit of a closer look, but it all rapidly became clear.

"See this?" Riyandi snickered as she pointed at the boy. "Seems like a pretty boring guy, right? As generic as they come! Which begs the question! Why would someone choose to be this boring, hmm? Tell me my assistant~!"

Diana was a bit caught up in the moment to even consider what she just called. Besides, she’s one anyway.

"Hey!! I take offense to that!! I'm not just some nobody!! My name's actually-"

“Shh! I got it!” Diana interrupted him before he can speak, snapping her fingers. “They're actually disguised to hide themselves from something revealing who they are!" Diana nodded confidently. “Someone who has a massive secret that they’re worried anyone would see them!! Someone that might be a runaway… a princess… or an alien!”

Diana was really getting caught up in the moment.

"Who are you people anyway!??" The nobody was looking quite frustrated. Er. Perhaps maybe they should dial down this game before they offend someone-

Riyandi grinned over at her bodyguard with pride. "See? You're catching on!" she winked. "Looks like my smartness is really rubbing off on ya!"

With that, she turned back to the generic guy. "Obviously, this boring high school boy is just a disguise," Riyandi remarked with the utmost confidence. "For whom? Someone who could only imagine a caricature of a teenage boy to keep themselves from being noticed in public. Someone like a female celebrity!"

"!!! That's right! Well I am indeed Watson to you right now. In that case,"

"I'm-I'm getting away from you weirdoes-" But in a motion too fast to see Diana closed in and grabbed the young lad's face! "Mgh!?"

-THIS GENERIC HIGHSCHOOLER IS ACTUALLY A FAMOUS CELEBRITY!!!

"Then!!"

With that, Diana ripped off the disguise! Almost like peeling a skinsuit or a mask off of someone. And out came a startled beauty!! Two heads taller than she was earlier!!! Her high heels clacking on the floor as she stumbled back, disbalanced from Diana's sudden pull. An elegant and slim frame that sported one of the gaudiest and sparkliest dress out there. It almost looked like she ended up lost here in Hollywood. Her perhaps maybe modified or maybe not bosom jiggling as she tripped forward, only helped back up by Diana.

"The truth couldn't be clearer!! Riyandi!!" Diana almost said in awe! "I didn't know we were in the presence of quite the star!!"

"You!?!? But I'm not--- I am!??" The celebrity looked stunned and outraged.... Wait... maybe it wasn't a good idea to reveal the identity of a celebrity out in the open… Ah. Crap. Though Diana’s sudden worried look was overshadowed by her partner.

Riyandi giggled with delight, happy to have finally found a woman after her own heart. Heck, maybe she even had a sidekick now! Even though Diana was having a lot more fun with this than an adult probably would have… That's a bit suspicious. Oh, but that was a matter for later!

"See?! I knew it!" The girl beamed with her eternally smug grin. "Of course, no one actually from America would choose something so generic. Unless they weren't actually from Hollywood. Because the vibes I'm getting from this woman is a lot more Bollywood!"

On that note, she reached over to the woman's now sweaty skin, where pale skin seemed to come off like it was just paint...maybe because it was! And the skin underneath was a good lot darker.

"!! You two !!! You two are s---!! I’m not a Bollywood or a Hollywood star!!"

Diana on the left. Riyandi on the right. They couldn't get grabbed by the frustrated celebrity! Not only that, Riyanid was once again right! It was just makeup! In fact, Diana realized that her outfit wasn't actually just some random LA Dress. It was actually a Saree! Still has the same color scheme though.

"Oh? That's a strange case!! I didn’t expect anyone from there to be all the way here!!”

“You must expect the unexpected my assistant~! Anything can happen!”

“YOU DAMN- TURN ME BA-AH! HOW DARE YOU-”

A flash cut her off. The bollywood star stumbling back. Numerous flashes repeating as suddenly bystanders were approaching with their phones out gasping and uttering to themselves. Diana and Riyandi had already pulled away as the mob began to converge. Each flash ensured that the celebrity they uncovered wouldn’t see them at all. And perhaps erased something more as the flashes of light overwhelmed the celebrity erasing any signs of the past.

“Ah--but I’m a student---no wait--- please---Damn paparazzi---not again!”

Diana and Riyandi were both laughing as they walked away, calming down now that their most recent reveal is not raging at them anymore. Unlike Diana’s fast gait, Riyandi simply walked away from the scene of the celebrity evaded privacy. Maybe she should have just let the woman be, but why lose such a golden opportunity to showcase her powers? Of deduction?

“Wow~ That was fun,” Diana admitted. “I don’t usually have this much fun when I bodyguard someone. Maybe I should try it myself.”

"Oh, wanna try your hand and some detectivity~?" Riyandi asked with a bright grin. "By all means! The world needs more detective ladies like us!"

Diana was still glancing back as the celebrity was mobbed. Stumbling over some backpack--- who owned that? But the moment she glanced away it was turning more into a fancy handbag Her attention was pulled back to Riyandi at that offer. The idea of becoming a detective… Though she liked that, her intuition was more for fighting rather than actually detective work..

"I haven't played detective in awhile so you might have to teach me a few more things," Diana stated as she glanced around. "Why don't you point me at something and we'll see! My first day as a detective and a bodyguard... definitely fun honestly!"

"Oh?" Riyandi asked curiously as she peered up at the older woman. "This is your first time being a bodyguard? Your advertisement made it sound like you were a lot more experienced..." Her eyes began to narrow at the woman. Who knew what she was thinking at the moment?

WARNING WARNING WARNING

Diana's instincts were alerting her of something... but uh.. what was there to be afraid of? It was Riyandi just speculating?

"Hm? Oh I meant it as both. Protected clients before. But no one has hired me as a detective before. I guess you're hiring me as one too?" Diana waved her off casually. Though she can’t help but be unnerved anyway. Not that she made it obvious. A normal person probably wouldn’t have noticed.

But… Riyandi was no such person.

"Yeaaaaaah...maybe..." The Indian girl continued giving Diana the stink eye, clearly seeing something wrong. Something...off about the girl.

Diana herself had glanced back and was beginning to notice something off too. It was a bit different to be on the receiving end of her gaze. The scrutiny with that magnifying glass. Diana was still walking confidently but upon saying that left her confused.

"A likely story..." Riyandi muttered as she rubbed her chin. "You're looking pretty awkward right now. Is something wrong? Your center of gravity looks off."

"Sure sure. And ah? Is it?"

-It is now

Diana stumbled forward, before turning away. Adjusting something.

“It’s just my bra digging in is all,” It was probably fine to tell her that. It seemed like Riyandi was mature enough. But her explanation was no solace. Riyandi’s watchful gaze was locked onto her. It felt like she was analyzing her to an extreme level that went beyond the others. "Hm?... Er.... something bothering you?"

“... Nothing~! I was just teasing you~!”

Oh.

Diana let out a sigh of relief. That felt like dangerous somehow. It didn’t feel like it was normal yet she couldn’t help it.

Though if she was a bit more attentive she’d notice that Riyandi’s cheerfulness was not so true. As Diana turned away to check a traffic light, the little detective was staring at her again. But her demeanor turning back to normal each time! Until-

Oof!

Diana stumbled back. Moving around a corner like this… She should’ve been more attentive. At least Riyandi didn’t look hurt. A word of apology formed on her mou-

“!! The fuck’s your problem!”

-th and it vanished as Diana was now glaring at the person she bumped into. A tall business woman with a glare that made it feel like she was looking at dirt. Judging from the bitchiness of this girl, she probably believes that. Still these type of people are better left alone but…

"Don't you know how to look you blonde bitch!?

Doesn't seem she wants to.

“Hey easy, there’s a kid here,” Again. Riyandi is probably mature enough to hear such words. But Diana didn’t really want innocence lost anyway. “Look sorry about that, I wasn’t looking where I was going.”

“Yes, clearly you need to get your eyes replaced. I could’ve dropped my phone and that would’ve been more expensive than how much you’ve earned in your entire life.”

“....” Diana’s smile was incredibly forced. But there was no reason to fight this bitch that definitely deserves a slap to the face with how much of Karen this goddamn whor- ehem. “Yeah sure thing. I’m going to get going now.”

“Oh don’t you think you can just leave right now! You fu-"

Oh hell. Diana groaned internally. This was going to be such a pain. At least Riyandi wasn’t seeing thi-

“Uhhh Miss Diana? What are you doing?” The curious detective was attempting to peek from her side staring at the loudmouth in front of Diana. But Diana blotted her view.

“Sorry Riyandi just a second."

“Hey don’t turn away when I’m talking to you!!”

Though Riyandi couldn’t see much thanks to Diana’s large frame, she heard a lot. But oh dear oh dear! This person sounded so comically bad! Like an angry customer at one of those prank shows or movies! Those people only exist in movies though so it was incredibly surprising that Diana happened to stumble upon such a person and is arguing with them.

Unless….

!!!!

Riyandi’s eyes gleamed as she tugged at Diana’s pants.

“Riyandi, a bit later. I'm so sorry and we'll just get going now and not bother you-” Diana was still taking insults now about her hair. The strained smile threatened to break.

“Diana!~! You cunning devil!! You’re trying to trick me into thinking you’re talking to someone! You tried to pull a fast one on me!”

““..... What?””

Both Diana and the Karen turned to face the detective.

“Such loudness!! Such articulate insults stringed together could be almost music for a movie telenovela!! But!! You made one mistake!!” Riyandi hopped past Diana and was now between Diana and the Karen. Both stunned at the energy of the young detective. “On the first place… A horrible person like that only exist in the movies!! Thus what you’re talking to was actually an advertisement screen.”

Diana guffawed for a moment.

“Look-- that’s just silly I ------ ah…”

Diana blinked.

What’s in front of Riyandi wasn’t a business woman but rather an advertisement screen with an angry shocked business woman. Who looked like she was about to panic.

“What!?! How dare you!! What did you do!?” The Karen in the screen swore as her image quality distorted for a second. Before she batted at the man that was on the screen with her. “I’m taking you to court!! You bastard!”

“See!!” Riyandi pointed with an almost smug look at the advertisement screen. “Clever clever clever!! You almost tricked me but nothing slips by me!”

“I.. suppose so,” Diana stepped back unsure. There was something seriously wrong. This wasn’t… But that conversation felt so real. “But I bumped into them. Huh. Do I need glasses?”

“Glasses are for those who are blind. Perhaps you might be blind to the truth!! Or perhaps something else…”

Diana turned to Riyandi. Who had a much more ominous look with that wide smile. That was the same expression she had when she uncovered the truth about the grandma and the movie star. That was alarming. Diana’s instincts were warning her again.

“Ah?”

Riyandi saw it.

She understood now. The way her bodyguard moved. The way she was so surprised by that screen and was taken aback. Why her bodyguard was acting like a kid playing dress-up. But no one kid could play dress-up so convincingly. Ergo...

"I got it~!" the young girl cheered as she snapped her fingers. "You're not even an adult! You're two kids pretending to be one!" It was all so obvious now!

".... Eh?"

Diana stared blankly. Her image 'cracking'. Awkwardly she shook her head laughing.

"I mean no that's not right, I'm an adult. I'm taller than you,” Diana was relieved it was something so silly. She thought there was something horrible about to happen. “Look, that’s impossible to achieve anyway.”

“Thus they try to trick me by making falsehoods~!” Riyandi wagged her finger! The laughter was a giveaway! A trick played against her! “You have no proof you’re an adult! After all, children could be stacked up and hide in a trenchcoat~! You must know more detective movie before you can even make-”

“And I’m wearing a jacket,” Diana interrupted, how rude! The blonde was still smiling as she revealed a tank top. Not to mention quite the large bust that she somehow hid there… Though the size was not something Riyandi had no intention of calculating, it was possibly the largest she’s seen from her many cases!! What-what trickery!! The smug smile on Diana’s face was so proud!! “No trenchcoats here. Besides, look here. An ID.”

Ah!!!

No way!!

A fancy ID with full details!

Diana Rivera. 25 years old. Occupation Freelancer…

“!!! No way!! An ID?”

“Yes way,” Diana said simply amused. There was a bit of satisfaction on seeing the excited detective be defeated by her. But sometimes you can’t make every perfect deduction. The look of shock and defeat on Riyandi was cute though. “Cute theory though.”

“Ah… then… this is…. Simply a farce!”

Riyandi dramatically tossed the ID card forward!  Straight at Diana’s chest, startling her and making her stumble back. But rather than bouncing off, it seemed to stick. Which Riyandi pulled away, now sporting a wide grin. Her despair was a farce too?

“See!! Fake!” Waving it around-- it wasn’t an ID!! It was a piece of paper! Printed!! So easily forged and easily made! Now letting out a prideful laugh as she pointed a finger at the “Woman” in front of her. “You’re really a faker!!!”

"Eh!?!?"

Diana was confused. That was her ID. That's the real deal. She didn’t print it out! What was Riyandi saying?? Not to mention this odd feeling. Diana was beginning to felt a bit sick to her stomach, almost as if worried about being caught in a lie. But-- she wasn't lying!! She grabbed the ID with concern considering it was hers but to her shock it really was just paper.

The 2 on the 25 was starting to wane

"Ah wait- then how else -?!?"

But this was also kinda exciting! She wasn't the Watson! She was the Moriarity! A proud but nervous grin forms! This detective game was pretty fun but why did her instincts scream at her to run?

"Is that so!!" Then how about this!! She can disprove her. Diana excitedly pointed. “Isn’t it obvious that you performed a sleight of hand trick? You replaced my ID with a fake~!”

“Nay~!” Riyandi fired back with a gleeful point. “You’d be a liar liar pants on fire! One with burnt pants if that was truth!  I performed no such trick and you saw it entirely!”

"That's correct! I used a fake ID! But that's because my true form is much more voluptuous!"

Diana proudly crossed her arms. This time truly accentuating her chest. The narrator would love nothing more than to describe their largeness, but frankly go ahead and pick whatever size you prefer that would suit this scenario for the sanctity of Riyandi’s mind. Diana loomed over Riyandi who had not lost her confident and determined look!

"I was hired by your father Zalim Desai to keep you safe!! I met him earlier in his office! He has full proof that I am an adult woman!! Not only that, do you think these are fake at all?"

Riyandi simply remained unphased, her grin just as smug and self-assured as usual. And why wouldn't it be? It would be out of character for her to be wrong.

"Of course not!" she snickered back. "Those things are so obviously water balloons, it isn't even funny! Frankly, I'm embarrassed it took me this long to notice!"

“Huh.”

The response she had was so stunningly stupid.

STUPIDLY TRUE!!

FLINCH!

Diana stumbled back, almost as if toooo off balance. That-- that- there was no way- these gave her so much back ache that- CLIP How did she figure out that they were hiding water balloons under a paper mache! Diana was self conscious about her breasts! They weren’t that small-no big-no small? What?

"No wait!!"

Diana steadied herself!! Defiantly resisting the truth!! Rejecting it!! The water balloons spilling some water on her clothes and paper mache- or was it just sweat? "Ah! Here! I have a phone full of my photos!! Videos too! How do you plan to disprove this!!"

Her mind felt like it was splitting into two.. but she wasn't going to lose to a kid she was babysitting! No one was smarter than Di and Ana! Her phone was real!! It showed every memory she had with her true form-

“Yawn.”

Riyandi was yawning?!

Ha! These were all excuses Riyandi had heard plenty before. These imposters always hated being found out, didn't they?

"Easily doctored with photo editing," The girl waved off without a second thought. She didn’t even look through them!! "Now! How about we stop playing games and have you two finally reveal yourselves!"

On that thought, the detective jumped up and grabbed ahold of the woman's jacket zipper before promptly slamming it down. There was obviously still much to reveal!

"!!! You can't just say that you have to explain-"

-What is there to explain about the truth?

The sudden jump took her by surprise! Di/ana could do nothing as the jig was up!! A squeak of an angry flustered Di(?) trying to balance herself as the jacket dropped off, the water balloons from those fake breasts landing with a splash below!!

And another head poking out of the 'pants' with a cry as they almost stumbled back!  For a brief moment their existence flickered, as if still not defined. After all, their 'real identity' is not yet exposed!

"Ah!!! No fair!! You're cheating!!Hey wait- I'm your bodyguard-- are you --- doing something--this is magic?!"

Was that one voice or two?

It was hard to tell. But Diana was backing away. The fake woman tried to flee but Riyandi was never one to let her perp simply run away. Justice never kept criminals out of its clutches! And so, she promptly clutched the fleeing "woman's" pants before she could go too far.

"You can try and outrun me, but I have all the clues!" she exclaimed. "I figured it out! All the clues were in front of me! You aren't 25..."

She could sense the final puzzle piece clicking. "...you're two five year olds!"

Age 25 --> 2x 5 = 2 5 year olds!!

And just like that- the woman finally toppled over!! Or.. No!! Diana let out one final shriek as she fell down- almost as if her voice was splitting into two. And immediately from the ground were two figured…

"Tch!! No way!! You!! You did something wrong!!"

"Uu... uuu... Di... Ana is scared! Ana knows this is wrong!"

"I know Ana!! This b-word did something to us!"

There it was uncovered.

A fierce glare from a girl with side bangs. Short haired and wearing shorts and a shirt. She looked like a tomboy but this was Girl A! Judging from how she

sounded, Riyandi deduced that it was Di! While the other teary eyed one that wore a very pretty dress and long hair was Ana! They combined their names to form Diana! Probably the only smart thing they did~! It was incredible how no one noticed their stupidly simple costume! It shouldn’t have worked at all!

“Alas the only thing bad about this is I have lost my great Watson,” Riyandi sighed sadly. “The truth hurts sometimes!”

“I’ll show you what hurts more than the truth!” Di growled as she balled up a fist. But was held back by Ana.

“Ah- Um-R-Riyandi.. Ana is sorry if Ana and Di made you mad… B-b-but can you turn Ana and Di back?”

“Huh?”

Riyandi was surprised. These two were still trying to pretend to be an actual old woman that guarded her? Determination is good but not when it’s so badly done! They were sore losers, with how both of them were nearly tearing up from their defeat by deduction. Hm…. what a pity. She thought they were actually fun to hang around when it turns out they only care about winning and deceiving!! Such a shame!! Usually everyone else who gets revealed knows it’s the truth. So why were these two being so rude and adamant about their exposed lie? Sigh…

“Nay! I’m not willing to play along with your games~! For a detective like me only desire the truth! And the truth is not a game!” Riyandi crossed her arms with a huff, now being the one to loom over Di/Ana.

The two children stepped back, one more furious than the other. The other solemnly dropping their head.

“Grrr… I don’t know what she did Ana… but it’s fine… we’ll just talk to Lily to fix… whatever…”

“? But Lily is a witch… she’s scary.”

“Isn’t she also our best friend?.... No wait… Is she?”

….

A witch?

Why….

That sounds like a deceptive trick!!

Someone was trying to trick these two children???

“You’re right Di… If scary Lily can … sniff… Fuse us back…”

“Right! So let’s go Ana-”

“Say!”

The two children froze. Di and Ana turned back, and could only see a face they truly fear. Riyandi’s eyes were twinkling with excitement.

“Someone’s pretending to be a witch?”

The job of a genius detective that uncovers the truth is never done.
