“Oh my gosh!” Claire gasped. Her eyes went wide as she looked at the massive dessert the waiter had just placed in front of her: a towering piece of cake with a scoop of ice cream and two dollops of whipped cream. The dark skinned woman beside her just laughed.

“Think your little tummy can handle all that hun?” the other woman joked. Claire’s cheeks turned a little pink but she smiled widely.

“I always have room for my sweets…you know that!” With that, the shorter woman dove into her dessert, quickly taking apart and devouring her treat.

“Are you sure you don’t want any?” Claire said after a few moments. Frida just laughed as she took a napkin and wiped away a smidge of whipped cream that had stuck to Claire’s nose.

“No, I’m good,” the taller woman responded, holding up her iced coffee. “You enjoy.”

It was way too much for Claire to finish but she did the best she could, licking up the last of the ice cream before sitting back and holding her stomach.

“Tummy ache?” Frida asked. Claire just nodded her head, eliciting another chuckle from the taller woman.

“Come on sweetie…let’s walk it off.”

The pair walked hand in hand through the cool night air, taking the scenic route through the park and enjoying the festive lights that were being strung up for the holidays. Claire pulled her wool hat on tighter as she looked at Frida who wore not much else but a jacket.

“Aren’t you cold?” Clair asked. Frida just smiled.

“Nah…I love this time of year. Besides, one of us needs to be the warm one at night, right?”

Now it was Claire’s turn to giggle as she squeezed her girlfriend’s hand even tighter. The two women walked through the wrought iron gate of the apartment building and made their way up to Claire’s unit.

“Make yourself at home while I get us something to drink!” Claire said, flitting away into the kitchen. She hummed to herself as she quickly mixed up two margaritas. She and Frida had been dating for months now…getting close to a year. Claire loved every moment she spent with the taller woman…but tonight was extra special. Tonight…she was going to tell Claire a very important secret. The butterflies in her stomach mixed with the tummy ache from the cake convinced her to make each cocktail double strong before bringing them into the living room with a huge smile. Frida had already gotten comfortable on the couch as her girlfriend sat next to her and handed her one of the glasses.

“So what are we watching tonight?” Frida asked.

An hour and a half later, Frida made a face.

“Meh,” she said, sticking out her tongue.

“What do you mean meh? That movie was adorable!” Claire retorted in a huffy voice.

“Yea but the guy wasn’t really all that smooth. I’m way smoother than him.”

“Oh yea? How so?” Claire said in a matter-of-fact voice.

“Well, for starters, you didn’t even notice that I slid my arm around you over an hour ago.”

Claire gasped as she looked at her left shoulder, spotting Frida’s hand gently holding her against the taller woman. Claire blushed a little as she turned back toward her girlfriend at the same time Frida was coming in for a kiss. The darker skinned woman pressed her lips up against Claire’s and the shorter woman felt electricity running down her spinal column. She murmured happily as their lips separated, nuzzling her head into the nape of Frida’s neck.

“Yea you’re right…you are pretty smooth.”

Frida laughed as she held Claire close, her cool hand gently brushing the smaller woman’s cheek. Frida often had cooler hands, but Claire had gotten used to it. She sniffed Frida’s clean smell and remembered what she had wanted to do tonight. Claire took a deep breath.

“Hey Frida?” she said softly, raising her head up and off of her girlfriend’s shoulder.

“Hmm?” Frida responded, sitting up straight and affixing her eyes on Claire. “What’s up?”

Claire took a deep breath and started to speak when-

DEE DO DO DEE DEE DO DO DEE DO DO DO DOOOOO!

Frida’s obnoxious cell phone ring filled the air. Frida grunted in disgust.

“I’m sorry Claire…hold on a sec.”

Frida stood up and grabbed her cell phone out of her purse. She frowned as she checked the screen.

“Hang on Claire…this is important.”

Claire nodded and Frida engaged the call.

“Hello?” she said moments before squinting as if she was trying hard to hear the person on the other side. Around half a minute later she sighed.

“Are you sure there’s absolutely no one else? This is kind of a special night…”

She listened for another few moments before sighing again and nodding her head.

“Yes of course I’ll come in. But you’re going to have to give me at least forty five minutes. See you then.”

Frida hung up the phone, a frown on her face. Claire already knew what was up.

“It’s the hospital, right?” she asked. Frida just nodded.

“Three nurses called out tonight. Can you believe it? Three.” She was obviously very frustrated as she stared down at Claire, seemingly frozen in inaction. Claire rose to her feet and wrapped her arms around the taller woman.

“It’s alright…I understand…things happen. If you need to go you need to go.”

Frida sighed, holding Claire close.

“I’m sorry hun…I’ll make it up to you. I swear.”

“I know you will. Now hurry along and don’t forget to text me in the morning.”

They shared one more, longer kiss before Frida packed up and left. Claire watched the woman walk down the street and away from her apartment before sighing.

“Next time,” she said softly to herself. She drew the blinds and curtains, making sure that there were no cracks or slits that anyone could be looking in through. Stepping into the middle of the room, she closed her eyes and took a deep breath as she mentally dropped her concentration on maintaining her current form. Immediately, she began to change: her body began to condense inward on itself, her head dropping down toward the floor as slowly but surely she began to shrink away. As she dwindled down, her clothes shifted and expanded over her diminishing frame, sliding over her hips, limbs and curves as each piece of clothing hit the floor one by one. Still she shrank, smaller and smaller until she stood no more than a minute six inches in height. Focusing hard, she flexed her muscles, and two long, opalescent wings burst from her shoulders, spreading apart in the warm air of the apartment. Claire beat her wings a half dozen times to stretch them out before taking off into the air, soaring up toward the ceiling as she made a loop and stared down at her discarded human clothing lying in a heap on the floor.

“Meh…I’ll tidy tomorrow,” she said as she flew to the edge of the room. She grunted as she flicked off the light switch before fluttering into her bedroom. Bypassing the enormous, normal-sized bed, she flew through the gap in her closet door and into the small dollhouse inside. Settling down in the doll-sized bedroom, she gently blew onto a small marble which immediately began to glow, illuminating the fairy woman’s bedroom. Claire sat down in front of her mirror and slowly began to brush her hair, staring at her naked body in the mirror. Besides being smaller, Claire’s real skin was a shade darker and shinier, almost as if the small woman had accidentally sneezed into a box of glitter.

As she went through her nightly routine, her thoughts wandered back to Frida. She couldn’t help but wonder how the human woman would take the news that her girlfriend was…well…a fairy. Generally, relationships between humans and the fae were frowned upon in fae society, for many obvious reasons, the least of which being the massive size differential. Not that it bothered Claire…she and Frida had already been involved in an intimate manner, but the tiny fairy woman had often wondered what it might be like to get into bed with a woman who was so much larger. She felt her cheeks warming as she imagined all the things that she could do for such a woman…and the things that this Giantess could do back to her.

“Next time,” she said again as she finished her task, setting the brush aside. She gently blew on the marble again and the light went out as Claire quickly fluttered over to her tiny bed. She crawled in and pulled her covers over her tiny frame, letting out one squeaky, high-pitched yawn before succumbing to sleep.
