I don’t understand it. I’m smaller again. Really small. I can barely see over the top of my mattress. Even with the stool, I have to prop myself onto the counter to turn on the water for the sink. Even the children’s toothbrush is arduous to use. :(

It was hard enough leaving the room this morning! I made the mistake of closing my door last night like I always do. Today, the handle lies far beyond my reach. I panicked, leaping up as my already kid sized clothes shimmied off my tiny frame. I burst into tears and curled up at the bottom of the door. Eventually, I had the thought to bring the stool and use that as a boost. With a jump, I was able to at least catch the handle and pull it down.

I thought I was supposed to be done. The doctor said that the most anyone ever shrinks is two feet. I should be 3’ 6” at the worst! But that was yesterday! I can look up...yes up...up at the mark on the wall where that mark is. And it’s much higher now, I can barely even reach it.

I can walk underneath my kitchen table without ducking. Getting anywhere and doing anything is either a series of moving stools and chairs into place, or utterly impossible. I couldn’t even get the fridge open to get to the food that Kate and I put in there. Thank goodness we left boxes of cereal on the countertop. After a short climb, I was able to rip open the box and greedily munch it down.

I feel like I’m barely holding it together. I called the Doctor and left a message with his nurses. Then I called Kate and left her a message as well. I hope she can understand it: my voice is much higher now, and when I’m crying I sound more like I’m squeaking then wailing.

Thank god I keep this diary on my laptop...I have no idea how I’d use a pencil at this size.

Where is Kate...where is she….
