“Wakey Wakey!” I said grinning ear to ear as I looked upon my roommate hanging above the kitchen table.

Lucy woke up slowly, with a throbbing pain in her head. She peaked out one eye only to be caught off guard by my smiling full body self staring at her. “W-w-what happened last night? My head hurts so bad.”

“Well, my sweet little roomie. It seems as though you had one too many drinks with your friends and got a bit carried away with that wand of yours.”

Just then, Lucy’s eyes went wide realizing something wasn’t right. “Hey, wait, how are you? And why can’t I? What is going on? What did you do to me Steph?”

I laughed at her utter confusion, “Ha! You know that’s actually the first time you said my name since turning me into a head awhile back. Thankfully I didn’t need you to say my name to get my gorgeous body back however.”

She stared at me with daggers, clearly unhappy with not knowing what happened to her. “Ugh, fine. If you’re gonna mope about it, I’ll tell you. You and the girls last night were drinking and having a good time when you decided it would be fun to play a brand new game you made up called ‘spin the wand’. Whoever the wand landed on was transformed into whatever the other girls wanted. One by one, the wand landed on a new person, and soon enough, what was a circle of 7 girls turned into a duel between you and our ditzy friend Celia.”

Lucy’s expression showed concern when I said Celia’s name, knowing just how ditzy she can be. “Yep, good ole Celia. And guess who the wand landed on next? That’s right, you. And as Celia was thinking of a fun transformation for you, she thought out loud about how she loved the transformation you did to me…Steph.”

Lucy realized what I was getting at finally. “Yeah, she said my name. And as I started to transform back to normal I watched delighted from your desktop as Celia transformed you into nothing more than a head.” After turning you into a head Celia got tired from all the boozes and I helped her into a bed to sleep it off, and once so had her asleep, I turned my attention back to you. See she simply turned you into a head. But I was the one who did the rest. I dyed your hair blond, touched up your makeup, and tied your ponytail to our lighting fixture so you could hang around for a bit. I have to say, you make a lovely kitchen decoration.”

Lucy finally worked up the ability to talk again. “So I’m just a head like you were? Is there a stipulation to my transformation?”

“There is, but I didn’t set it. Our friend Celia did. The funny thing is, she didn’t realize that she set one.”

Lucy looked concerned, “Great, what did that clutz set it as then?”

“Well, she was thanking you for such a fun party and then said that she wanted to keep you like this to show her own roommates just how cute you look.”

“Her roommates? Doesn’t she go to college half way across the country?”

My smile got even bigger. “Yep. She was going to take a picture of you to show them, but I’m gonna make sure that doesn’t happen. Isn’t this fun. You get to be a kitchen ornament for as long as I like!”

Lucy was not having it, “Ok, fine. So I’m you plaything for awhile. You know this won’t last, right? You’ll screw up just like you always do Steph. And then once you do, I’ll make sure to get my revenge.”

I simply leaned in and gave her a kiss on the lips in response, before pushing her her head, causing it to sway lightly back and forth. I waited for her to stop swinging to talk again. “Hey, at least you’re still human. The other girls weren’t so lucky with their transformations.” I said pointing to a potted plant that eerily looked like Debby, one of our friends. Then I motioned to across the kitchen to a mug engraved with another girls face, Billy. And finally I nodded towards the living room where an ornate wooden coffee table that was oddly shaped like our friend Greta sat, with a beautiful marble bust of our friend Phyllis sitting on top of her. “See. Not so bad when you think about it, huh.”

She had to admit, she did get the better of the transformations. Slowly, Lucy began to simmer down. “I guess. So what happens to them? Do you remember if we set stipulations for all of them?”

I sat and thought about it, “I don’t know. I wasn’t paying attention as much when they got transformed. I’ll have to ask Celia in the morning. If not, they’ll be back to normal tomorrow afternoon if I turn the app off. If they have stipulations, Then I guess we’ll have to find out if the wand can undo transformations with stipulations on them.” I stretched and yawned a bit. “But that can wait until tomorrow morning. For now, I’m going to get some well deserved sleep.” I gave Lucy a peck on the cheek and a reassuring smile, before waving goodnight and turning the lights off, leaving her hanging over the kitchen table in the dark.
