After a tumultuous evening of unforeseen transformations, Friday morning had finally come and Jess was finally awake. She didn’t get much sleep the night before and felt miserable so far this morning. She kept recalling the night before and everything that transpired. How could she treat her sister and best friend like that? Turning Kate into a poster and crumpling her up like she was nothing more than a piece of paper. And then to top it off she made things worse by transforming Kate and Kai into a plush dolphin. She had hoped that eating breakfast and showering would make her feel better, but it didn’t do much to clear her conscious. Jess knew she had to fix her mistakes and just hope both of them would forgive her. So she went back to Kate’s bedroom, wand in hand, ready to right her wrongs.
“Alright, now how to get the girls back. Let me think. Hmm, well I can wait til nighttime and they should convert back to being separate entities stuck in that purse. Then from there I can change both back separately.” Jess knew she couldn’t wait that long. Her guilt was driving her crazy. She’d have to find a solution now.
“Maybe I can change the dolphin directly into both of them. I mean as long as I’m thinking of them both at the same time it should change them both back to normal, right?” Jess thought about the idea for a bit longer, but decided it was her best chance to fix things quick. So Jess moved the dolphin onto the bed and started to focus intently on the dolphin transforming into both Kate and Kai.
A tap off the wand later and Jess had hoped she was right about her decision. Once the flash of light dissipated she looked to where the plush dolphin was moments ago, hoping to see the two girls in its place. But what she saw was not two girls. Instead, standing in front of her was a girl Jess had never seen before. Standing before her was a buxom woman, with brunette hair that had just a hint of magenta. She was average height, which made her ample bosom and plump bottom even more accentuated. If Jess didn’t know any better, she was looking at a model.
The new woman looked around the room confused. She didn’t know how she got here, but the room definitely looked familiar, and so did the girl standing in front of her. “Whoa, my head is spinning. How did I get here? Also, I feel like I know you from somewhere, but my memories are so cloudy.”
Now Jess was worried. Did she just erase her sister and best friend from existence? “My name’s Jess, and the reason your memories are cloudy is because a few minutes ago you were just a stuffed animal. I used this magic wand I have to change you into the girl you are now.” She was hoping the new girl wouldn’t freak out from what she just told her.
“Oh, well I guess that explains why I can’t remember much past that. But why do I feel like this is my bedroom then? And why are you so familiar to me Jess?”
“Well, that’s because technically this is your room. And you know me because before you were a stuffed animal, you were two separate people. My sister Kai, and my best friend Kate. You were supposed to be them, but apparently when I did the transformation it couldn’t split you two apart so that’s why you are here.”
The new girl was processing what she just heard. “That explains why I felt like I knew you, and why I felt right at home here. I guess I have both of their memories now. They must have merged when you created me. Explains why I have such conflicting feelings towards you Jess.”
“Yeah, that doesn’t surprise me. Kai and I always butted heads. And Kate and I were best friends up until yesterday. I was hoping to apologize to her when she was back to normal, but apparently that’s not happening just yet. So you don’t remember being either one of them?”
“Nope, I have their memories but that’s it. I’m my own person. I guess I should have a name. How about Harmony. You know, since I have two minds merged in perfect harmony.”
Jess wasn’t exactly comfortable with the new girl simply brushing off her past lives. She had to figure out how to get the other two back, but she was losing confidence that she could convince Harmony to feel the same. “Harmony it is then. However, I would like to get my sister and friend back so I know they’re ok. But I think that requires changing you again.”
“Yeah, I guess that makes sense. If I was in your shoes I’d want to do the same. This sucks though because I just started living basically, and now I have to give it up. Oh well, its the right thing to do so go ahead and do what you have to.”
Jess was relieved that Harmony understood. “Thanks for understanding Harmony. If there was a way to keep you around and free them I would do it. But unfortunately I don’t think that’s possible.”
“No worries, at least it will be quick and painless.”
“Yep, that’s the nice thing about the wand. By the way, you remember the wand and how it works right?”
“Yep, and I remember all the stipulations to multiple uses too.”
Jess was happy to hear Harmony remembered the wands abilities. “That’s good then. Alright I think if I change you back into the original purse that held Kate and Kai then I can just open the bag and remove both of them and then change them back to normal from there.”
“Yep, that sounds like it should work. Just remember to change them again after they’re back to normal. That way they will revert back to their normal selfs when the final transformation is done.”
“Good thinking. I’m glad you reminded me of that or else we’d still be stuck in this mess tomorrow. Welp, I guess we better get started.”
“Ok Jess that’s fine.” Harmony was a bit caught off guard by how quickly Jess wanted to change her. And then she remembered something that was part of Kate’s memories from just before she got transformed. It had something to do with Jess changing. ”Oh, wait, Jess I need to tell you something. You need to be chan-...” But that’s all she got out before Jess had tapped the wand on her, and a moment later Harmony was just a purse again.
“Oh shoot Harmony was trying to tell me something. Oh well, time to open the purse and see if the girls are in there.” Sure enough when Jess opened the purse, inside was both Kate’s balled up poster form and the romper that had previously been Kai. Jess was thrilled her plan worked. So she quickly pulled them out and set them on the bed ready to get the transformations started. “Alright, step one complete. Now to get you both back to normal starting with Kai.”
Jess was getting excited to finally see her sister again, back to normal. She grabbed the wand and prepared to change the clothes back to human form. But then suddenly, Jess had a strange feeling creep over her. And with a flash of light Jess completely disappeared and in her place was the little punk doll she was changed into so long ago. If Jess had let Harmony finish what she was saying she would have known that Kate never did a second change to Jess after restoring her human form. So after 24 hours were up, Jess was doomed to change back into a doll.
And so where once there were 3 girls, there were none. Just an empty room with a doll, a poster, and a romper. Completely void of any human life.
