Jess had drawn the short stick once again. Her parents had gone away on a 2 week business trip and now she was stuck babysitting her younger sister, Kai. Little does she know her life is about to be turned upside down.

Jess is a 22 year old who’s back home from college for summer break. She’s always had a fairly small but athletic build, being 5’2 and playing soccer through high school and now college as well, but she still has a slightly curvy figure which she prides herself on. She also loves to color her hair different colors from time to time, and the flavor of the month right now was a vibrant magenta color.  She loves being home for the summer spending time with her family, but sometimes she wants to go hangout with her friends.

This weekend was supposed to be when she got a chance to hangout with her friends until her parents sudden business trip. Now she’s stuck babysitting her younger sister, Kai, a 18 year old, who doesn’t necessarily need a babysitter but their parents aren’t quite ready to trust her by herself yet. Mainly because she was mischievous, and had recently discovered a magic wand in her grandparents old things that lets her transform anything she wants with a tap of the wand. No one knows how the wand got into their possession, but Kai is always looking for reasons to use it.

It was Friday afternoon when their parents left, and Jess immediately decided to set ground rules.
“Alright Kai, mom and dad are gone now so I’m in charge, got it,” Jess said, hoping to come off as authoritative.
“Let me guess, this is where you tell me that I have to do everything you say and be well-behaved which basically means no fun for me,” Kai responded while scoffing.
“Look I don’t like this anymore than you Kai. In fact, I had plans to hang out with Kate and Jennifer this weekend, but now I’m stuck making sure you don’t blow up the house or something.”
Kai didn’t appreciate the verbal jab. “Jess, just go hangout with your friends. I’m old enough to take care of myself, and have plenty of things to keep me busy.”
Jess knew what she was referring to. She knew her sister had that silly magic wand, but didn’t quite understand the appeal. Sure it transformed things from what her sister said, but she didn’t see how that was any fun. Why would doing little parlor tricks like changing an apple to an orange be that much fun, she thought to herself.
“No Kai, I promised mom and dad I’d watch you for the next couple of weeks. Besides, you’d probably call mom and tell on me immediately after I left the house. So you better do what I tell you.” Jess was hoping she made it clear to Kai who was in charge, but Kai chuckled and rolled her eyes at her sister.

“And don’t forget you still have to finish your chores Kai. Just because mom and dad are gone doesn’t mean you’re gonna skip out on doing your part around the house. Maybe start with your room since it’s a pig sty.”
“Fine! I’ll go clean my room.” Now Kai was really getting annoyed. She hated doing her chores, but she hated people telling her what to do even more. And she was really mad at Jess for how she was treating her, and it hadn’t even been an hour since their parents left. As she started cleaning up her room she ran across her magic wand in her dresser and then a devious idea came to her. She would clean up her room first, but then she would have some fun with her sister.

It had been a couple hours since Jess had sent Kai to clean her room, and she wanted to check in on her to see if she had actually done what Jess asked her. She knocked on Kai’s door trying to be somewhat respectful. “Hey Kai. Did you finish cleaning your room? I’m gonna be angry if I come in and your playing video games instead.” There was no response. Jess was getting mad and barged into Kai’s room, but was suddenly shocked at what she saw. The room was cleaner than she had ever seen it. And Kai was sitting on her bed with what looked like one of her old dollhouses from when she was a little kid.
“Oh hey Jess, what do ya think?” Kai said very nonchalantly.
Jess was still a little stunned by how clean the room was, but she was even more confused by Kai playing with a dollhouse. “Well, at least you cleaned up your room for once, but you still have more chores to do so maybe put away your stupid little dollhouse and try to act your age for once. I mean geez, you’re acting like a toddler playing with those dumb barbie dolls.”
Kai simply shrugged and then went back to playing with her dolls. “Well Jess, you treat me like a child so I figured I’d simply act like one, and what do children like more than playing with dolls?”

Now Jess was really annoyed with her sister. Sure she cleaned her room, but now she was being a brat, and still not listening to her at all. But then Kai set her dolls down and turned to her sister with a devilish grin.
“Of course, you could always play with me Jess. I mean, we never play together anymore since you went to college. Doesn’t playing dolls with me sound like fun?”
Jess was a little uneasy now. “Why would I want to play dolls with you. And why do you have an obsession with these dumb dolls all of a sudden? Put them away and get back to doing your chores!”
Kai slowly got up and walked past Jess to her dresser and grabbed something out of it that Jess couldn’t quite make out. “Alright sister, Sorry about that. I’ll get back to my chores.” Kai walked past her sister to her door and Jess had thought she won the argument, but all of a sudden she heard the bedroom door shut and lock behind her. Quickly Jess turned around and faced her sister who she could finally see was holding her magic wand.
“You know Sis, I actually had a better idea. I think we can both use a break from chores, and if you won’t play dolls with me, then maybe I can just doll you up some.”
Jess was slightly nervous now, but still annoyed. “What the heck does that mean Kai? First you want to play dolls with me and now what, you want to do my makeup? Stop being ridiculous and put that dumb wand away.”

Kai took a step toward Jess with the wand fidgeting in her hands. “You know Jess how I told you this wand is magic and can transform anything I touch into whatever I can think of?”
Jess was confused. “Yeah Kai, you can turn apples into oranges and make vegetables into ice cream. Cool, neat trick. What are you getting at?”
“Well sis, that is only a few examples of the things this wand can do. But there’s more to it. You see, when I transform something it will only stay that way for 24 hours and then it will transform back to its previous state.”
“Ok, so your telling me it’s not even a permanent change? That’s even dumber than I thought. What’s the point in using the wand on something if it changes back a day later?” Jess said while taking a step back toward Kai’s bed.
Kai smirked again. “Your right sis. It doesn’t sound like a lot of fun anymore. So maybe I should use it to change SOMEONE, instead of SOMETHING.” And just like that Kai lunged at Jess with the wand and tapped her right on the nose.

Jess was about to respond to her sister but right as the wand touched her nose there was a bright flash with a popping noise. When she was able to see again, Jess tried to yell at her younger sister but noticed when she tried to speak nothing came out. On top of that she couldn’t move a single muscle. And then what happened next made Jess very uneasy. She noticed her sister looked gigantic now and was walking over to where Jess apparently was laying, unable to move. And then suddenly, Jess felt her body get lifted into the air by her sister. ‘How was this even possible? I must be dreaming or bumped my head.’ She still tried moving and speaking, but still nothing happened. She was helpless and was being carried by her now much bigger, younger sister. Finally she was set back down on her sister’s bed, but from her limited view she noticed her surroundings and realized she wasn’t just on Kai’s bed. She was sitting in her sister’s dollhouse!

Kai assumed at this point her sister was finally starting to piece together what happened to her. “Wow sis, I must say when I tapped you with the wand I wasn’t quite sure what would happen, if anything. But I’m very pleased with the outcome.”
Jess was fuming. She still didn’t know what Kai did to her exactly, but she couldn’t believe her sister used that dumb wand on her. She was even more surprised that it actually worked., and from what she could tell she had shrunken to doll size. She still didn’t know why she couldn’t talk or move, but then her sister answered that question shortly after.
“I told you sis that I wanted to ‘Doll’ you up some. And now you really are just a doll. Nothing more. I’m gonna have so much fun playing with you and you can’t boss me around anymore. Well, at least for the next 24 hours.”

Jess couldn’t believe it. In a matter of seconds her little sister had transformed her into nothing more than a Barbie doll. How is this even possible? She didn’t think that silly little wand could do anything more than simple parlor tricks. But she was non-living proof that it could do so much more. Now she was simply a doll at the mercy of her little sister and all Jess could do is wait and see what her sister would do with her for the next 24 hours. She didn’t feel much anymore. All Jess could feel was the cold hollow plastic that her body was made from now. It was oddly pleasurable though when her sister had picked her up again. Her sister’s touch was so warm and it just felt right to be held by her sister. She shuddered at the thought of ever enjoying the sensation of being played with. She could only hope the next 24 hours would go by quickly.

But then suddenly Jess was set back down next to the dollhouse with the other dolls and Kai had gone back to pick up the Wand again.
“You know Jess, I am having so much fun seeing you like this, but I think I want to give you the ability to talk so I can know exactly how you’re feeling.” As she finished speaking she reached over and tapped the wand on Jess’s plastic body and suddenly there was another flash and Jess was still sitting in the dollhouse. But now, to her surprise, she could talk.

“What the hell Kai! How dare you use that stupid wand on me and make me into some dumb Barbie doll! You better turn me back this instant or you are going to be in so much trouble!”
Kai laughed at her sister’s outburst. “Sis, I don’t think you’re in any position to tell me what to do. All you are is a doll and nothing more. You’re lucky I’m letting you even talk right now. The only reason you can was I wanted to see if you felt anything in your current state or could even think while you were inanimate. But it sounds to me like you were conscious the whole time, and I honestly don’t like your tone.”

“Lucky! Kai, you turned me into a Barbie doll! Why wouldn’t I be pissed? Now turn me back now!”

“No, so just deal with it. For the next 24 hours you are MY doll and I will play with you however I want to. Oh, by the way, you’re probably wondering where the dollhouse came from. Well, it used to be one of my pillows. I had transformed it yesterday into a hairbrush since I forgot where I put mine, and then I turned it into this dollhouse just for kicks, not realizing I would ever have a use for it. And look, now I do.” And with that she reached over and picked up her Barbie doll sister and was about to move her into the dollhouse again, but then something unexpected happened. The dollhouse suddenly disappeared and in its place was a simple hair brush.
“Hmm, I wasn’t expecting that to happen.” Kai was perplexed. She just assumed that after 24 hours the dollhouse would revert to what originally was her pillow. But now what was a dollhouse was a simple hair brush. Kai suddenly realized how the wand’s powers worked and Realized what that meant for her sister’s situation. “Well Jess, it seems the wand has some surprises I was not aware of. Oh well, this just means you won’t be bossing me around anytime soon. In fact, I think you won’t be back to your old self for quite some time.” She had an evil smile on her face thinking about what she had planned for the next 2 weeks with her sister.
